dazzled by vehicle lights behind you,
move the lever 2 fig. 67 located behind
the mirror.
Electrochromic mirror: The mirror
automatically darkens at night when
you are followed by a vehicle with its
lights on.
WARNING
30)For safety reasons, carry out these
operations when the vehicle is stopped.
31)When driving, the external mirrors must
always be in the open position. As door
mirrors are curved, they may slightly alter
the perception of distance.32)Objects reflected in the rear view mirror
are actually closer than they appear. For
safety reasons, keep this in mind to
correctly assess the distance before any
manoeuvring.

IMPORTANT If you are driving on the
left in a vehicle equipped for left hand
drive (or vice versa), you need to
regulate the lights for the visiting time
(refer to the "Headlight alignment
adjustment" paragraph in the "Knowing
your vehicle” chapter).
DIPPED HEADLIGHTS
Manual activation
Turn the knurled ring 2 fig. 68 so the
corresponding symbol
on the
instrument panel lights up.
Automatic activation
(For versions/markets where provided)
Turn the knurled ring 2 fig. 68 to
correspond with theAUTOsymbol:
with the engine started, the low beam
lights go on or off automatically
depending on the outside light, without
having to use lever 1 fig. 68.Switching off
Manually turn the knurled ring 2
fig. 68 to position 0;
With the knurled ring 2 fig. 68 in the
position of theAUTOsymbol, the low
beam lights go off after the engine is
turned off, the driver's door is opened
or the vehicle is closed. In this case,
when the engine is started again, the
low beam headlights go on again
depending on the outside lighting,
without using lever 1 fig. 68.
NOTE When the low beams or fog
lights are on, the lights do not go off
automatically.
MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS
Ignition
When the engine is running and the
main beam headlights are lit, press
lever 1 fig. 68. The
warning light
switches on in the instrument panel. To
go back to the low beam lights, pull the
lever 1 fig. 68 towards you.
Switching off
Turn the knurled ring 2 fig. 68 to
position 0.
In case the lights have been turned on
manually, when the driver's door is
opened, an acoustic warning goes off
to indicate the lights are still on.
FRONT FOG LIGHTS
Turn the central knurled ring 4 fig. 70 on
the lever 1 until the symbolappears,
then release it. Operation depends on
the exterior light position selected, with
the relative light going on on the
instrument panel.
Light function in a curve
In a curve, with parking lights on and in
certain conditions (speed, vehicle angle,
going forward, direction indicators on,
etc.), one of the front fog lights goes on
to light up the curve.

REAR FOG LIGHT
Turn the central knurled ring 4 fig. 70until
the symbolappears in front of
reference 5 fig. 70, then release it.
Operation depends on the exterior light
position selected, with the relative light
going on on the instrument panel.
Do not forget to turn this light off when
you no longer need it so it does not
bother other drivers.
Switching off
Turn the knurled ring 4 fig. 70 so it
corresponds to the relative symbol of
the front and rear fog lights that you
want to turn off. The warning light goes
off on the instrument panel. When you
turn off the exterior lights, this also
causes the front and rear fog lights to
go off.
IMPORTANT With fog, snow or when
moving items that are longer than the
roof, the automatic light turning on is
not systematic. Turning on front and
rear fog lights is at the driver's
discretion: the warning lights on the
instrument panel indicate they are on
(light on) or off (light off).
HEADLIGHT ALIGNMENT

A fig. 71 lets you adjust the headlights
depending on the load. Rotate knob A
down to lower the lights and up to raise
them.

IMPORTANT If you are driving on the
left in a vehicle equipped for left hand
drive (or vice versa), you must adjust
the headlight orientation for the duration
of the visit.
Adjusting the headlights externally
Open the engine compartment and
identify the B fig. 72 printed near one of
the front lights.
For each light, turn screw 1 fig. 72 a
quarter turn towards the - with a
screwdriver to lower the lights.
Once the parking ends, return to the
original position: turn screw 1 a quarter
turn to the + to raise up the lights.
DIRECTION INDICATORS
Lever 1 fig. 73:upwards: engage the right directional
signal;
downwards: engage the left
directional signal.

markets where provided) to turn on the
reading light.

opened.
IMPORTANT With the doors correctly
closed, starting or stopping the engine
will make the luggage compartment
courtesy light go off.
REAR LIGHT
By moving switch 7 fig. 79, you get:permanent lighting;
lighting controlled by opening one of
the rear doors. It will go off only when
the doors concerned are properly
closed;
it will go off immediately.

BIntermittent function. The wiper
stops for a few seconds between one
wipe and the next. You can change the
time between one wipe and the next by
turning the ring 2 fig. 81.

IMPORTANT The B-C fig. 80 operation
modes are only accessible when the
starter device is inserted. Function D
fig. 80 mode can be accessed only withthe engine on.
NOTE When driving, each time the
vehicle stops, the windscreen wipers
slow down: from fast to slow
continuous operation. As soon as the
vehicle moves again, the wipers return
to the initially selected speed. Any
movement of lever 1 fig. 80 takes
precedence and annuls any
automatism.

NOTE If there is fog or snow, the
automatic windscreen wipers are not
systematic and the driver has to
operate them.
IMPORTANT The C fig. 80 operation
mode is only accessible when the
starter device is inserted. Functions B
and D fig. 80 can only be accessed
with the engine started.
NOTE There is a service position for
replacing the wiper blades. With the
starter switch on and engine off, lower
the wiper lever 1 fig. 81 completely
(position D). The wiper blades will stop
in a free position (refer to the "Screen
wiper" paragraph in the "Maintenance
and care” chapter).
Windscreen washer
With starter device inserted, pull lever 1
fig. 82 towards the driver. Pulling the
lever briefly, activates a single wipe
together with the screen washer. Pulling
the lever for a longer time, activates
three consecutive wipes together with
the screen washer, and then a fourth
wipe after a few seconds.

IMPORTANT In the case of ice or snow,
clean the windscreen (including the
central section behind the interior rear
view mirror) and the rear window before
activating the wipers (risk of overheating
their electric motor). Check the status
of the wiper blades:
they have to stay clean: clean both
windscreen and rear window regularly
with soapy water;
do not use them when the
windscreen and rear window are dry;
detach them from the windscreen or
rear window if they have not been used
for a long time.
In any case, replace them as soon as
they are no longer efficient: about once
a year. Before using the rear wiper,
check that there is no item that could
interfere with the wiper trajectory.

When you release the lever, it goes

NOTE If the wipers are operating or are
in automatic mode, when you put thegear in reverse, the rear window starts
working intermittently.
IMPORTANT In the case of ice or snow,

make sure the device is deactivated or the
key is on STOP.

window wiper is in the stopped position.

IMPORTANT
5)Never use the windscreen wipers to
remove layers of snow or ice from the
windscreen. In such conditions, the
windscreen wiper may be subjected to
excessive stress and the motor cut-out
switch, which prevents operation for a few
seconds, may intervene. If operation is not
subsequently restored, even after restarting
the vehicle, contact a Fiat Dealership.
6)Do not operate the windscreen wiper
with the blades lifted from the windscreen.
7)Make sure the device is switched off if
there is ice on the windscreen.
REFUELLING THE
VEHICLE
Useful tank capacity: Approx. 80 litres
Open the left front door to access the
flap A fig. 84.
While filling, hang the cap 2 fig. 84 on
the cap holder 1 on the flap A.
IMPORTANT After filling, check that the
cap and flap are closed.
Fuel quality
Use the best quality fuel, respecting the
regulations in force specific to each
country, and adhere strictly to the
indications on the label located on the
flap A.

Fuel filling
To refill the tank with the starter device
disengaged, insert the fuel nozzle and
push it as far as it will go before starting
fuelling (risk of splatters).
Hold the nozzle in this position the
entire time you are refilling.
If filling up, after the first automatic stop,
you can top up another two clicks to
keep the expansion volume inside the
tank empty. When refuelling, make sure
water does not get in. The flap A and
related surrounding parts must be kept
clean.

engine must be stopped and not in
stand-by.

Turn the key to the "M" position and
wait a few minutes before starting the
engine to allow the fuel circuit to

Insert the electronic key into the reader.
Press button 4 without touching the
pedals. Wait a few minutes before
setting off. This allows the fuel circuit to
engage. If the engine doesn't start
within a few seconds, repeat the
procedure.

replace it, make sure it is the same as the
original. Contact a Fiat Dealership. Do not
let the cap near a flame or heat source. Do
not wash the filling area with a high
pressure cleaning machine.
41)If there is a persistent odour of fuel,
proceed as follows: stop when traffic
conditions allow and disengage the starter
device; start the emergency lights and get
all the occupants out of the vehicle and
away from traffic; contact a Fiat Dealership.
42)Any intervention or modification of the
fuel supply system (electronic circuits,
wiring, fuel circuit, injector, guards, etc.) is
strictly prohibited because of the risks
involved (entrust this exclusively to qualified
Fiat Dealership personnel).
IMPORTANT
8)Do not mix petrol (unleaded or E85) with
diesel, even the smallest amount. Do not
use ethanol-based fuel if your vehicle is not
suitable. To prevent damage to the engine,
do not add additives to the fuel.
