leaves the garage, there is a slightdelay before the automaticheadlamp system changes to theDRL. During that delay, theinstrument cluster may not be asbright as usual. Make sure theinstrument panel brightness controlis in the full bright position. SeeInstrument Panel IlluminationControl0177.
When it is bright enough outside,the headlamps will turn off or maychange to Daytime RunningLamps (DRL).
The automatic headlamp systemturns off when the exterior lamp
control is turned toOor the ignition
is off.
Lights On with Wipers
If the windshield wipers areactivated in daylight with the engineon, and the exterior lamp control isin AUTO, the headlamps, parkinglamps, and other exterior lampscome on. The transition time for thelamps coming on varies based onwiper speed. When the wipers are
not operating, these lamps turn off.
Move the exterior lamp control toO

Hazard Warning Flashers
|:Press this button to make thefront and rear turn signal lampsflash on and off. Press again to turnthe flashers off.
When the hazard warning flashersare on, the vehicle's turn signals willnot work.
Turn and Lane-Change
Signals
An arrow on the instrument clusterflashes in the direction of the turn orlane change.
Move the turn signal lever all theway up or down to signal a turn.
Raise or lower the lever for lessthan one second until the arrowstarts to flash to signal a lanechange. This causes the turnsignals to automatically flash threetimes. It will flash six times if Tow/Haul Mode is active. Holding theturn signal lever for more thanone second will cause the turnsignals to flash until the lever isreleased.

.Connection with i-Stick TypeUSB storage devices may befaulty due to vehicle vibration.
.Do not touch the USBconnecting terminal.
.Only USB storage devicesformatted in FAT16/32 or exFATfile systems are recognized.NTFS and other file systems arenot recognized.
.The time it takes to process fileswill depend on the USB storagedevice type and capacity, andthe type of files stored.
.Some USB storage device filesmay not be compatible.
.Up to two USB devices and oneiPod can be played through aUSB hub. All devices may not besupported, depending on theperformance of the USB hub.If there is not enough powersupply, it may not operatenormally.
.Do not disconnect the USBstorage device while it is playing.This may cause damage to theproduct or affect theperformance of the USB device.
.Disconnect the USB storagedevice when the ignition isturned off. If the ignition is turnedon while the USB device isconnected, the USB device maybe damaged or may not operatenormally.
.USB storage devices can onlybe connected for playing music,viewing photo files,or upgrading.
.Do not use the USB terminal tocharge USB accessoryequipment. The heat generatedmay cause performance issuesor damage.
.Music files to which Digital RightManagement (DRM) is appliedcannot be played.
.USB storage device that are incapacity with a limit of 5,000files, such as music, photo,video, 15 stages of folder
structure. Normal usage cannotbe guaranteed for a storagedevice that exceeds this limit.The iPod/iPhone can play allmusic files that are supported.The music file lists will onlydisplay up to 5,000 files on thescreen. These files are sorted inalphabetical order.
.Some iPod/iPhone productmodels may not support theconnectivity or functionality ofthis product.
.Only connect the iPod/iPhonewith connection cablessupported by iPod/iPhoneproducts. Other connectioncables cannot be used.
.The iPod/iPhone may bedamaged if it is connected to thevehicle with the ignition on.When not in use, disconnect theiPod/iPhone.
.When the iPod/iPhone isconnected to the USB port byusing the iPod/iPhone cable, theBluetooth music is notsupported.

The infotainment system can viewpicture files stored on a USBstorage device and devices thatsupport Media TransferProtocol (MTP).

.Animated GIF files are notsupported.
.Some files may not operate dueto a different recording format orthe condition of the file.

destination entry and voice keypad,can be completed in a singlecommand. If the task takes morethan one command to complete, thefirst command would be to indicatethe kind of task that is to beperformed. The system replies withprompts that lead through a dialogto enter the necessary information.
Voice recognition can be used whenthe ignition is on or when RetainedAccessory Power (RAP) is active.SeeRetained Accessory Power(RAP)0271.
Using Voice Recognition
Voice recognition becomes availableonce the system has beeninitialized. This begins when theignition is turned on. Initializationmay take a few moments.
1. Pressgon the steering wheel
control to activate voice
recognition, or selectgon the
infotainment screen on thecenter stack.
.If voice recognition isstarted from the steeringwheel control, the
instrument cluster displaysthe selections and visualdialog content.
.If voice recognition isstarted from theinfotainment screen, theselections and visual dialogcontent are displayed onboth the center stackdisplay and the instrumentcluster display.
2. The audio system mutes andthe system plays a promptfollowed by a beep.
3. Wait until after the beepcompletes, then clearly speakone of the commandsdescribed in this section.
Pressgto interrupt any voice
recognition system prompt. Forexample, if the prompt seemsto be taking too long to finish,
pressgagain and the beep
should happen right away.
There are two voice prompt modessupported:
.Long verbal prompts: The longerprompts provide moreinformation regarding thesupported actions.
.Short prompts: The shortprompts provide simpleinstructions about what can bestated.
If a command is not spoken, thevoice recognition system says ahelp prompt.
Prompts and Screen Displays
While a voice recognition session isactive, there will be correspondingbuttons on screens displayed.Manual interaction in the voicerecognition session is permitted.Interaction during a voice sessionmay be completed entirely usingvoice commands, or someselections may expedite a session.If a selection is made using amanual control, the dialog willprogress in the same way as if theselection was made through a voicecommand. Bluetooth (Overview)
Instructions for using the cell phonemay differ between infotainmentsystems. The base radio and baseradio with touchscreen instructionsare included in this manual. See theinfotainment manual for instructionson the uplevel radios.
Bluetooth-capable systems caninteract with many cell phones,allowing:
.Placement and receipt of calls inahands-freemode.
.Sharing of the cell phone’saddress book or contact list withthe vehicle.
To m i n i m i z e d r i v e r d i s t r a c t i o n ,before driving, and with the vehicleparked:
.Become familiar with thefeatures of the cell phone.Organize the phone book andcontact lists clearly and delete
duplicate or rarely used entries.If possible, program speed dialor other shortcuts.
.Review the controls andoperation of the infotainmentsystem.
.Pair cell phone(s) to the vehicle.The system may not work withall cell phones. See“Pairing”inthis section.
.If the cell phone has voicedialing capability, learn to usethat feature to access theaddress book or contact list.

Vehicles with a Bluetooth systemcan use a Bluetooth-capable cellphone with a Hands-Free Profile tomake and receive phone calls. Theinfotainment system and voicerecognition are used to control thesystem. The system can be usedwhile in ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY. The range of theBluetooth system can be up to 9.1 m(30 ft). Not all phones support allfunctions and not all phones workwith the Bluetooth system. For U.S.and Canada only, see www.gm.com/bluetooth for more information aboutcompatible phones.

Voice Recognition
If equipped, the voice recognitionsystem uses commands to controlthe system and dial phone numbers.
Noise :The system may notrecognize voice commands if thereis too much background noise, suchas noise from open windows or loudtalking inside the vehicle.
When to Speak :Atonesoundstoindicate that the system is ready foravoicecommand.Waitforthetoneand then speak.
How to Speak :Speak clearly in acalm and natural voice.
Audio System
When using the Bluetooth system,sound comes through the vehicle'sfront audio system speakers andoverrides the audio system. Use theOknob during a call to change thevolume level. The system maintainsaminimumvolumelevel.
Bluetooth Audio Quality
Turn off the Echo and Noisecancellation feature on your phone,if supported, for the best hands-freeperformance.

Do not change the track too quicklywhen playing Bluetooth music.
Conditions that may occur whenplaying Bluetooth music:
.It takes time to transmit datafrom the bluetooth device to theinfotainment system.
.If the cell phone or Bluetoothdevice is not in the waitingscreen mode, it may notautomatically play.
.The infotainment systemtransmits the order to play fromthe bluetooth device in theBluetooth music play mode.If this is done in a differentmode, then the device transmitsthe order to stop. Depending onthe bluetooth device options, thisorder to play/stop may take timeto activate.
.If the Bluetooth music playbackis not functioning, then check tosee if the bluetooth device is inthe waiting screen mode.
.Sounds may be cut off duringthe Bluetooth music playback.
.The infotainment system outputsthe audio from the cell phone orBluetooth device as it istransmitted.
Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto
If equipped, Android Auto™and/orApple CarPlay™capability may beavailable through a compatiblesmartphone. If available, aPROJECTION icon will appear asAndroid Auto or Car Play on theHome Page of the infotainmentdisplay.

1. Download the Android Autoapp to your phone from theGoogle™Play store. There is
no app required for AppleCarPlay. Use the latestavailable operation system.
