In vehicles with all-weather lights, the front
lights are adjusted automatically so that yo u are

less likely to see g lare from your own headlights,
for example when driving on a wet road.
Automatic dynamic headlight range control
system*
Your vehicle is equipped with a headlight range
contro l system so that there is less g lare for on­
coming traff ic if the vehicle load changes . The
headlight range also adjusts automatically when
braking and accelerat ing .
Light function s
The following light funct ions may be avai lable
depending on vehicle eq uipment and only f unc­
tion when the lig ht switch is in the AUTO posi­
tion.
Static cornering light * (vehicles with LED head ­
li ghts) - the cornering light switches on automat­
ica lly when the steer ing whee l is turned at acer­
ta in angle at speeds up to approximate ly 44 mph
(70 km/h) and when the turn signal is activated
at speeds up to approximately 25 mph (40 km/
h) . The area to the side of the veh icle is illumina t­
ed bette r when turn ing .
Highway l ight function * (vehicles with LED head­
lights) -th is function adapts the lighting for
highway driving based o n veh icle speed.
Speed dependent light distribution* (vehicles
with LED headlights) - the speed dependent l ight
distribution adapts the lig ht in towns a nd on
highways or expressways . Intersections can a lso
be illuminated on vehicles w ith a navigation sys­
tem*.
_& WARNING
- Autom atic headlights * are only inten ded to
a ssis t the driver . They do no t relieve t he
d river of respo nsibility to check the head­
lig hts and to t urn them on manua lly based
on the current light and v is ibility conditions.
For example, fog cannot be detected by the
light sensors . So always switch on the low
beam under these weather condit ions a nd
when dr iv ing in the da rk
gD .
-The rear fog lights shou ld only be turned on
i n acco rdanc e w ith traffic regulations, to
prevent glare for traffic behind yo ur v ehicl e.

Lights and Vision
-If the battery has been discharging for a
wh ile, the parking light may switch off auto­
matically. Always make sure your vehicle is
parked and adequately lit according to the
laws. Avo id using the parking lights for sev­
era l hours.
- Always observe legal regulations when us­ ing the light ing systems described.
(D Tips
- The light sensor for the automatic head­
lights* is in the rearview m irror mount. Do
not place any stickers in th is area on the
windsh ield.
- Some exterior lighting functions can be ad­

-If you turn off the ignition wh ile the exter ior
lights are on and open the-door, a warning
tone so unds.
- In some markets, the tail lights will sw itch
on when the daytime runn ing lights sw itch
on .
- In cool or damp weather, the inside of the
headlights, turn s ignals and tail lights can
fog over due to the tempe rature d ifference
betwee n the inside and ou ts ide. They will
clea r short ly after sw itch ing them on. This
does not affect the service life o f the light ­
i ng.
Turn signal and high beam lever
The lever operates the turn signals, the high
beams and the headlight flasher.

High beams can cause glare for other dr ivers,
which inc reases the risk of an accident . Fo r
this reason, only use the high beams or the headlight flasher when t hey will no t create
g la re for ot he r drive rs.
Adjusting the exterior lighting
The functions are adjusted in the Infotainment
system .

You can control the functions through the dial,
buttons in the dial and the buttons. Press the
buttons to turn the functions on or off . The LED
in a button w ill light up when the funct ion is
switched on .
We recommend pressing the
IAUTOI button and
setting the temperature to 72 °F (22 °C). The au­
tomatic climate control system automatically
maintains a temperature once it has been set .
The air tempe rature coming from the vents, the
b lower speed, and the air distribution are also
automatically adjusted. In all heating mode f unc­
tions except
defrost, the b lower only switches to
a higher speed once the engine coolant has
reached a certain temperature.
~ Adjusting the blow er
The blower speed can be adjusted in small inc re­
ments using the dia l
(D. The blower should a l­
ways run at a low setting to prevent the windows
from fogging and to ensure a continuous ex­
change of air inside the vehicle. You can adjust
the volume of air generated by the blower to your
preference. To have the blower regulated auto­
mat ically, press the
IAU TOI button .
IA/Cj Switching cooling mode on and off
The cooling system is tur ned on and off w ith the
IA/C l button. The air is not cooled and humidity is
not removed when coo ling mode is sw itched off.
Warm and cold
This can cause fog on the windows. Cooling mode
switches off automatically when the outside tem­
perature is be low zero .
The temperature can be adjusted with the con­
trol @.

T he tempe rature can be adjusted in small i ncre­
ments using the dial@.
IAUTO I Switching automatic mode on and off
The automatic mode is turned on using the
IAUTOI button. AUTO mode switches off once a
button in the climate con trol system is pressed.
Automat ic mode maintains a cons tant tempera­
tu re inside the vehicle . Air temperature, airf low
and air distribution are controlled automatically .
Adjusting the air distribution
The air distrib ution can be adjusted w ith the con­
t rol @ . To have the air d istr ibution regulated au ­
tomat ica lly, press the
IAUTOI butto n.

To keep the front side w indows from fogging up
in damp weather, we recommend ope ning t he

speed and the distance between your vehi­
cle and other vehicles.
- For safety reasons, cruise control should not
be used in the city, in stop-and-go traffic, on
winding roads and when road conditions are
poor (such as ice, fog, gravel, heavy rain and
hydroplaning), because this increases the
risk of a n accident.
- Switch the cruise control off temporarily
when driving in turning lanes, highway exits
or in construction zones.
- Please note that unconsciously "resting"
your foot on the accelerator pedal prevents
the cruise control from braking. This is be­
cause pressing the accelerator pedal over­
rides the cruise control system.
- If a brake system malfunction such as over­
heating occurs when the cruise control sys­
tem is switched on, the braking function in
the system may be switched off . The rest of
the cruise control system functions remain
active as long as the

Changing speed

You can press the accelerator pedal down to in­
crease your speed, for example if you want to
pass someone. The speed you set earlier wi ll re-

sume as soon as you release the acce lerator ped ­
al.
However, if you are exceeding the stored speed
by a considerable amount for a long time, the
cruise contro l system will temporarily switch off.
The

dicator light in the instrument cluster turns off
and the stored speed is maintained.
Preselecting the speed
Applies to : vehicles with cruise control system
You can pre-select your desired speed when the
vehicle is stationary.

Audi active Lane assist
Description
Appl ie s to: ve hicles w ith Audi ac tive lane assis t
Active lane assist detects lane marker lines with­
in the limits of the system using a camera in the
windshield. If you are approaching a detected
lane marker line and it appears likely that you
will leave the lane, the system will warn you with
correct ive steering. You can override th is steer ing
at any time . If you pass over a line, the steer ing
wheel will v ibrate l ightly. In order for this warn­
ing vibration to occur, it must first be sw itched
on in the Infotainment system. Active lane assist
is ready for operation when the lane marker line
is detected on at least one side of the vehicle.
The system is designed for driving on express ­
ways and highways and so it only activates at
speeds above approximately 40 mph (65 km/h) (depending on the market).
Applies to vehicles w ith side assist* : if you act i­
vate a turn signal when active lane assist is ready
and it classifies a lane change as critical because
of vehicles traveling alongside you or approach­
ing you, there w ill be noticeable corrective steer­
ing shortly before you leave the lane. This will at­
tempt to keep your vehicle in the lane.
Applies to vehicles without side assist* : the sys­
tem does not warn when it is ready if you activate
the turn signal before crossing the lane marker line . In this case, it assumes that you are chang­
ing lanes intentionally .
& WARNING
-The system wa rns the driver that the veh icle
is leav ing the lane using co rrective s teer ing.

The driver is always responsible for keeping
the vehicle within the lane.
- The system can assist the driver in keeping
the vehicle in the lane, but it does not drive
by itself. A lways keep your hands on the
steer ing wheel.
- Corrective steering may not occur in certain situations, such as during heavy braking.
- There may be cases where the camera does
not recognize all lane marker lines. Correc­
tive steering can only take place on the s ide
of the vehicle where lane marker lines are
detected .
- Other road structures or objects could poss i­
bly be identified un intent ionally as lane
marker lines . As a result, corrective steering
may be unexpected o r may not occ ur.
- The camera view can be restricted, for ex­
ample by vehicles driving ahead or by ra in,
snow, heavy spray light shin ing into the
camera or by dirt o n the window. This can
result in active lane assist not detecting the
lane marker lines or detecting them incor ­
rectly.
- In certain s ituations where visibility is low,
the vehicle may switch internally from "ear­
ly" to "late" steering cor rection
ll.
- Unde r certain cond itions such as r uts in the
road, an inclined roadway or crosswinds, the
corrective steer ing alone may not be enough
to keep the vehicle in the m iddle of the lane.
- For safety reasons, active lane assist must
not be used when there are poor road and/
or weather conditions such as slippery
roads, fog, gravel, heavy rain, snow and the potential for hydroplaning . Using active lane
assist under these cond it ions may increase
the risk of a crash.

Care and cleaning
- Never use gasoline, spot remover, ben­
zene, paint thinner or other solvents to
remove.
- Door window s
-Remove snow and ice on windows and ex-
terior mirrors with a p lastic scraper . To
avoid sc ratches, move the scrape r only in
one direction and not back and forth .
- Never remove snow or ice from door win­
dows and m irrors using warm or hot water
because this could cause cracks to form.
- To avoid damage to the rear w indow de­
fogge r, do not apply any stickers on the
heating w ires on the inside of the window.
- Decorati ve parts /tr im
- Never use chrome care or cleaning prod-
ucts.
-Paint
-To reduce the risk of scratches, the vehicle
must be free of dirt and dust before pol­
ishing or waxing.
- To prevent pa int damage, do not polish or
wax the veh icle in direct sunlight .
-To reduce the risk of pa int damage, do not
polish away rust spots .
- Remove cosmetics and sunscreen immedi­
ately- these could damage the paint.
- Instrument cluster
- Make sure that the instrument clus ter is
switched off and has cooled off before
cleaning it.
- The instr ument cluster and the trim sur­
round ing it must not be cleaned w ith dry
cleaning methods because they could ge t
scratched.
- Make sure no fluids ente r th e spaces be­
t ween the ins trumen t cluster and the
trim, because that could ca use damage .
-Control s
-Make sure that no fluids enter the con-
trols, because this could cause damage.
- Safety belts
- Do not remove the safety belts to clean
them .
- Never clean safety belts or their compo ­
nents chemically or with cor rosive flu ids
or so lvents and neve r a llow sha rp objects

to come into contact with the safety belts .
This could ca use damage to the belt web­
b ing.
- If there is damage to the webbing, the
connections, the retractors or the buckles,
have them replaced by an authorized Aud i
dealer or authori zed Audi Serv ice Facility .

- Neve r treat art ificial leather/Alcantara
with leathe r ca re products, solvents, floor
polish, shoe polish, spot remove o r similar
p roducts.
- H ave a spec ialist remove stubborn stains
to prevent damage .
- Never use steam cleaners, brushes , hard
sponges, etc. when cleaning.
- Do not turn on the seat heating* to dry the
seat .
- Objects w ith sharp edges, such as zippers
or rivets on clothing or belts , can cause
damage to the surface.
- Open hook and loop faste ne rs, fo r exam­
p le on clothing, can damage seat covers .
Make sure hook and loop fastene rs a re
closed .
-Natural leather
- Never treat leather with solvents, floor
polish, shoe polish, spot remover or sim i­
lar products.
- Objects w ith sharp edges, such as zippe rs
or rivets on clothing or belts, can cause
damage to the surface.
- Never use steam cleaners, brushes, hard
sponges, etc. when cleaning.
- Do not turn on the seat heating* to dry the
seat .
- To he lp prevent the leather from fading ,
do not leave the vehicle in d irect sunlight
for long periods of time. If leav ing the ve­
h icle parked for long periods of time, you
should cover the leather to protect it from
d irect sunlight.
@ Tips
- Insects are easier to remove from paint that
has been freshly waxed.
