driver information system. Fill the AdBlue. Other­
wise the engine will not start again if you stop it
once the distance indicated has been driven. You
can also check the remaining distance in the on­
board computer* .

This message appears when the Ad Blue tank is
empty . Fill the Ad Blue . Otherwise you will not be
able to start the engine again once you stop it .

Filling AdBlue

The Ad Blue tank open ing is located near the die­
sel tank opening . Add at least 1.5 gallons (S . 7
lit ers) of Ad Blue . This is the minimum amount re­
quired to ensure the system detects the refilling
and to start the eng ine. You can add a maximum
of 4.5 gallons (17 lite rs).
Requirement: the request to add AdBl ue must
appear in the ins trument cluster display .

Ad Blue can irritate the skin, eyes and respira­
tory system. If there is contact with the fluid,
flush immediately with plenty of water . Con­
sult a physician if necessary.
CD Note
- Only use Ad Blue that conforms to the
standard ISO 22241 -1. Do not mix any addi ­
tives w ith the AdBlue and do not d ilute it
with water.
- Do not add Ad Blue to the diesel ta nk or add
diesel fuel to the Ad Blue tank. Do not start
the engine under any circumstances if the
wrong f uel is filled in the tank. There is a
risk of damaging the fuel tank system and
the engine. See an author ized Audi dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility for ass is­
tance .
- Ad B lue attacks surfaces such as pa inted ve ­
hicle components, plast ic and carpet . Re­
move the fluid as quickly as poss ible with a
damp cloth and plenty of cold water. If the
Ad Blue has already crysta llized, use warm
water and a sponge . AdBlue residue that is
not removed will crysta llize a nd can damage
the affected surface.
- Do not store refill bottles or canisters per ­
mane ntly in the vehicle . If the container
l ea ks, the escaping AdBl ue could damage
t h e veh icle inter io r.
- Do not allow AdBlue to come into co ntact
with clothing. If there is contact w ith the
f lui d, f lush immed iate ly w ith p lenty of wa­
te r.

Refilling AdBlue using a bottle

.. Position the bott le on the fi ller tube and turn
the bottle clockwise until it stops turning .
.. Press lightly against the bottom of the bottle
to empty it. Cont inue pressing the bottom of
the bottle until it is empty or until fluid stops
flow ing into the tank .

Only use refill bottles that are approved for
your vehicle . Using other systems can cause
Ad B lue to leak.

The coolant leve l is monitored through the. in­
dicator light ¢
page 14. However, we do recom­
mend occasionally check ing the coo lant level
manually.
I f you must add coolant, use a mixture of water
and coolant additive. Mixing the coolant additive
with d istilled water is recommended.
Coolant additiv e
The coolant addi tive is made of anti-freezi ng and
corros ion protection agents. Only use the fo llow­
ing coolant additives . These additives may be
mixed with each other.

The amount of coolant add itive that needs to be
mixed w ith water depends on the climate where
the vehicle will be operated. If the coolant addi­
tive percentage is too low, the coolant can freeze

Note
-Before the start of winter, have your author­
ized Audi dealer or authorized A udi Se rvice
Fac ility check if the coolant additive in you r
vehicle matches the percentage approp riate
fo r the clim ate. Thi s is especially important
when driving in co lder climates .
- If the approp riate coolant additive is not
available in an emergen cy, do no t add any
other additive. You cou ld damage the en ­
gine. If this happens, only use water and re­ store the correct mixture ratio with the
spec ified coolant additive as soon as possi­
ble.
- Only refill with new coo lant.
- Radiator sealant must not be mixed w ith
the coo lant .

General information
... Park the vehicle as far as possible from moving
traffic in the event of a breakdown. In the event
of a flat tire, park the vehicle on a level surface .
It you are on a steep hill, be especially careful.

The vehicle tool kit, vehicle jack*, tire mobility
kit* and compressor are stored in the luggage
compartment under the cargo floor cover.
.,. Lift the cargo floor by the plastic handle .
.,. Tu rn the handle counter-clockwise and remove
the cover or the spare ti re*.
A WARNING
Improper use of the vehicle jack can cause se­
rious personal injuries.
- Never use the screw driver hex head to
tighten wheel bolts, since the bolts cannot
attain the necessary tightening torque if you
use the hex head, potentially causing an ac­
cident.
- The factory-supplied jack is intended only
for your vehicle model. Under no circum­ stances should it be used to lift heavy
veh icles or other loads; you risk injuring
yourself.
- Never start the engine when the veh icle is
raised, which could cause an accident.
- Support the vehicle securely with a ppropri­
ate stands if work is to be performed under­
neath the vehicle; otherwise, there is a po­
tential risk for injury .
- Never use the jack supplied with your Aud i
on another vehicle, particularly on a heavier
one. The jack is only suitable for use on the
veh icle i t came with.

Replacing wheels
Before changing a wheel
Observe the following precautions for your own
and your passenger's safety when changing a
wheel.
.. After you experience a tire failure, pull the car
well away from moving traffic and try to reach
level ground before you stop c::> &.,.

to a safe location (for instance, beh ind the

You or your passengers could be injured while
changing a wheel if you do not follow these
safety precautions:
- If you have a flat tire, move a safe distance
off the road. Turn off the engine, turn the
emergency flashers on and use other warn­
ing devices to alert other motorists.
- Make sure that passengers wait in a safe
place away from the vehicle and well away
from the road and traffic.
Emergency assistance
- To help prevent the vehicle from moving
suddenly and possibly slipping off the jack,
always fully set the parking brake and block
the wheel diagonally opposite the wheel be­
ing changed . When one front wheel is lifted
off the ground, placing the Automatic
Transmission in P (Park) wi ll
not prevent the
veh icle from moving.
- Before you change a wheel, be sure the
ground is leve l and firm. If necessary, use a
sturdy board under the jack.
- Always store the vehicle tool kit, the jack
and the replaced tire in the luggage com­
pa rtment

(D Tips
Before changing the wheel, you must activate
the jacking mode, so that the automatic con­
trols for the Adaptive Air Suspension* do not
make it more difficult to lift the vehicle with
the jack ¢

Changing a wheel
When you change a wheel, follow the sequence
described below step-by-step and in exactly that
order.
1. Activate the vehicle jack mode*¢ page 245.
2. Remove the decorative wheel cover* or the
wheel bolt caps*. For more details see also
¢ page 244, Decorative wheel covers or
¢ page 244, Wheels with wheel bolt caps .
3. Loosen the wheel bolts ¢page 245.
4. Locate the proper mounting point for the
jack and align the jack below that point
¢page 245.
5. Raise the car with the jack¢ page 245 .
6. Remove the wheel with the flat tire and then
install
the spare ¢ page 247.
7. Tighten all whee l bolts lightly.
8.
Lower the vehicle with the jack.
9. Use the wheel bolt wrench and
firmly tighten
all wheel bolts

10. Replace the decorative wheel cover* or the
wheel bolt caps*.
11. Deactivate the vehicle jack mode* in the

When removing or installing the wheel, the

whee l bolts.
- Pull the reversible blade from the screwdr iv ­
er before you use the hexagona l socket in
the handle to turn the wheel bolts.
- When mounting tires with unidirectional
t read de sign make sure the tread pattern is
pointed the right way

- The wheel bolts sho uld be clean and easy to
turn. Check for dirt and corrosion on the
mating surfaces of both the wheel and the
hub. Remove all dirt from these surfaces be­
fore remounting the wheel.
