Memory function
Description
Applies to: vehicles with memory function
Using the memory funct ion, you can quickly and
eas ily store a personal seat profile for the driver
and recall the settings later. The memory func­
tion is controlled by the remo te control key and
the memory bu ttons in the drive r's door.
The driver's seat profile is stored again and as­
signed to t he remote contro l key each time the
ve hicle is locked . Whe n you open the door, the
seat profi le is automat ically reca lled. If two peo­
p le use t he vehi cle, it i s recomme nded that each
person always uses "their own" remote cont ro l
key.
Up to 2 seat prof iles can be stored in the memory
bu tto ns in the dr iver's door. O nce they are sto r­
ed, these sea t profiles can be sele cted at any
time .

.. If the driver's door is open and the ignition is
sw itched off, press the memory button .
.. If the driver's door is closed or the ignition is
sw itched on, press and hold the memory but­

- F or s afety reasons, the seat se tting can on ly
be reca lled when the vehicle is stationa ry,
otherwise t here is a risk of an accident.
- In an emergency, every sea t ad justment op ­
eration can be stopped by pressing the

The 12 -volt sockets can be used for electrical ac­
cessories. The power usage must not exceed
120 watts.
There is an additional 12 vo lt socket* located on
the side trim panel in the luggage compartment .
_& WARNING
The sockets and the electrical accessories con­
nected to them only function when the igni­
tion is switched on. Incorrect usage can lead
to serious injuries or burns. To reduce the risk
of injuries, never leave ch ildren unattended in
the vehicle with the veh icle key.

- To reduce the risk of damage to the vehicle
electr ica l system, never attempt to charge
the vehicle battery by connecting accesso­ ries that provide power, such as solar pane ls
or battery chargers, to the 12 Volt sockets
or the cigarette lighter.

only use plugs that fit correctly .

event o f an accident .

Beverage containers in the cup holders should
a lways have a lid. Otherwise, beve rages could
sp ill and cause damage to vehicle eq uipment
or stain the seat covers.

A WARNING
-Always leave the lid on the glove compart­
ment cover closed while driving to reduce
the risk of injury.
- Make sure that the view to the rear is not
obstructed by hanging garments.
- Hang only lightweight cloth ing and be sure
that there are no heavy or sharp-edged ob­
jects in the pockets.
- Do not use clothes hangers to hang gar­
ments, because this could reduce the effec­
tiveness of the side curtain airbags*.
- Only use the storage compartments in the
door trim panels to store small objects that
will not stick out of the compartment and
impair the range of the side airbags.

- Make sure the seat belt is not pinched or
damaged when folding the backrest .
- If you move the front seat back when the
rear seat backrest is folded forward, you
could damage the head restraints on the
rear seat .
- To reduce the risk of damage, move the rear
head restra ints down before folding the
rear backrests forward

You can lock or un lock the pass-through
thro ugh the luggage comp artmen t. This p re ­
ven ts any ac cess to the l uggage compa rtment
from the vehicle interior .

If luggage or cargo is to be carr ied on the roof,
you must observe the fo llowing :
- Onl y a spe cially designed roof rack may be used
on yo ur vehicle. These roo f racks are the bas is

for a complete roof rack system. Additional at­
tachments/carrier systems are necessary to
transport luggage and sports equipment. We recommend roof racks and attachments from
the Audi Genu ine Accessories program.
- When installing the roof rack, make sure that it is mounted only at the designated points on
the roof¢

- The permissible roof load for your vehicle is 200 lbs (90 kg). The roof load is the total of the
weight of the roof rack, the attachments and
the cargo you are carrying. However, you must also note the permitted load of the carr ier sys­
tem being used. For the permitted axle load
and the permitted tota l veh icle we ight, refer to
¢page 361 .
A WARNING
-
- Follow the installation instructions provided
with the roof rack system. If you do not se­
cure the roof rack system and objects on the
roof correctly, they cou ld come loose from
the vehicle and cause an acc ident.
- Using a roof rack system increases the risk of an accident, because it changes the dr iv­
ing characteristics by shifting the center of
grav ity and/or the increasing the surface
area exposed to wind. Adapt your driving
and speed to the cu rrent conditions .
(D Note
-If you use other roof luggage rack systems
or do not install the racks as intended, any
damage to the veh icle is not covered by the
war ranty . Carefully follow the assembly and
i nstallation instruct ions included with the
roof rack carrier system.
- Make su re that the open luggage compart­
ment l id and the tilt ing/slid ing sun roof* do
not come into contact with objects on the
roof.
@) For the sake of the environment
Your veh icle will requ ire more fuel due to the
increased wind resistance . So remove the roof
rack after using it.

Climate control system
Description
The climate control system warms, cools and re­ moves humidity from the air in the vehicle interi­
or. It is the most effective when the windows and
sunroof * are closed. If there is a bui ld-up of heat
inside the vehicle, ventilation can he lp to speed
up the cooling process.
I n all heating mode f unctions except for
defrost ,
the blower only switches to a higher speed once
the engine coolant has reached a sufficient tem­
perature .
Pollutant filt er
The po llutant filter removes poll utants such as
dust and pollen from the a ir .
Ke y recognit ion
The climate control settings are automatically
stored and assigned to the remote contro l key
that is in use .
@) For the sake of the environment
-If you wo uld like to reduce fuel consump­
tion, switch the ai r cond itioning off. This
will a lso reduce em issions.

- In veh icles with a diesel engine, you can
switch the auxiliary heater off in the Info­
tainment system.
(D Tips
- To prevent interference with the heating
and cooling output and to prevent the win­
dows from fogging over, the a ir intake in
front of the windshield must be free of ice,
snow or leaves.
- Condensation from the cooling system can dr ip and form a puddle of water under the
vehicle . This is normal and does not mean
there is a leak .
- If you see that, for example, the seat heat­
ing* or rear w indow defogger are not heat­
ing, the energy management system may
have switched them off temporari ly . These
systems a re available again as soon as the
energy supply has been resto red.

Press the knobs, buttons or rocker switches to
turn the functions on or off . When the funct ion is
sw itched on, the LED in the respect ive button or

On right-hand drive vehicles*, the functions of

OFF
climate control system
You can switch the climate control system
on and off with the OFF button.
It is also switch- ed on when you press another button or a knob
.
Airflow from outside is blocked when the climate
contro l system is sw itched off .
A/C
Cooling mode
You can switch the cooling mode on or off using
the rocker switch ®· The air is not cooled and hu­
midity is not removed when cooling mode is
switched off. This can cause fog on the w indows .
Cooling mode switches off automatically when
the outside temperature is below zero.
A/Ceco
cooling mode*
You can switch the eco cooling mode on or off us-
ing the rocker switch ®· The climate control ..,.

system operates most efficiently in eco cooling
mode.
A/C MAX cooling mode*
You can switch the maximum cool ing mode on or
off using the rocker switch@. Th e air is not
coo led and humidity is not removed when cooling
mode is switched off. This can cause fog on the
windows. Cooling mode switches off automati­
cally when the outside temperature is below
zero. When the cooling mode is switched on, the
vehicle interior is cooled as quickly as possible
and dehumidified .
c:E) Recirculation mode
In recirculation mode, the air inside the vehicle is
circu lated and filtered. This prevents the unfil­
tered air outside the vehicle from entering the
vehicle interior. We recommend switching recir­
culation mode on when dr iv ing through a tunnel
or when s itting in traffic

Using the button, recirculation mode is~ using
the button. You can also switch the recirculation
mode off by pressing the knob

ton.
AUTO
Automatic mode
Automatic mode ma intains a constant tempera­
ture inside the vehicle. Air temperature, airflow
and a ir distribution are controlled automatically .
You can switch automatic mode on or off by
pressing the knob@.
Temperature
You can adjust the temperature between 60°F
( + 16°() and 84°F ( +28°() by turn ing the knob
(D . If outside of this range, LO or HI will appear
in the climate control system d isplay. In both
sett ings, the climate control runs constantly at
the maximum cooling or heating level. The tem­
pe rat ure is not regulated.
The temperature can be adjusted in the rear us­
ing the rear contro ls

You can adjust the vo lume of air generated by the
blower to your preference using the rocker switch

Air distribution
You can use the rocker sw itches @to adjust the
ven ts where the air w ill flow o ut of. P ress the
rocker switches @repeatedly until the desired
air distribution setting is disp layed in the climate
contro l system controls. To have the air distribu­
tion regulated automatically, press the knob
(D.
-Jit-OPEN/CLOSE the wide vent
You can open and close the wide vent in the cock­
pit using the rocker switch ®·
JI 8M Seat heating and ventilation*
If you press the button JI~ the seat heating/
ventilat ion is switched on at the highest leve l (3).
The LEDs indicate the temperature level. To re­
duce the temperature, press the button again. To
switch the seat heating/ventilation off, press the
button repeatedly unti l the LED turns off .
3%i Defrosting
The windshield and side w indows are defrosted
o r cleared of condensation as quick ly as poss ible.
The maxim um amount of air flows mainly from
the vents below the windshield . Recirculation
mode switches off. The temperature should be
set at + 72°F (22°() or higher. The temperature is
controlled automatically.
Defrost is sw itched on and off~ using the but­
ton. You can switch the function off by pressing
the knob
(D .
Applies to vehicles with windsh ield heating*:
when outside temperatures are low, the wind ­
shield heating is automatically switched on . If
you would like to switch the windshield defroster
on manually, press the button.~-The LED in the
button blinks.
Qii) REAR Rear window defogger
Press the button to switch the rear window de­
fogger !! on. It on ly operates when the engine is
running. It switches off automatically after 10 to
20 minutes, depending on the outs ide tempera­
ture.
