You can manually stop the a utomat ic opening/
closing of the luggage compartment lid. The au­
tomatic closing process begins if you push down
on the rear lid.
A WARNING
- Never close the rear lid inattentively or with­
out checking first . Although the closing

force of the rear lid is limited, you can still
seriously injure yourself or others.
- Always ensure that no one is within range of
the rear lid when it is moving, in particu lar
close to the hinges and the upper and lower
edges - fingers or hands can be pinched.
- To help prevent poisonous exhaust gas from
be ing drawn into the vehicle, a lways keep
the rear lid closed while dr iving. Never
transport objects larger than those which fit
comp letely into the luggage area, because
then the rear lid cannot be fully closed.
- Never leave your veh icle unattended espe­
cially with the rear lid left open. A child
could crawl into the car through the luggage
compartment and pull the lid shut, becom­
ing trapped and unab le to get out. To re­
duce the risk of personal in jury, never let
children play in or around your vehicle . Al­
ways keep the rear lid as we ll as the veh icle
doors closed when not in use .
- If there is a luggage rack or bicycle rack
mounted on the rear lid, it may not be able
to open comp letely or an opened rear lid
may close by itself because of the added
weight . So the open rear lid must be sup­
ported or the we ight must be removed from
the l uggage rac k first.
(!) Tips
- When the vehicle is locked, the rear lid can
be unlocked separately by pressing the but­
ton~ on the master key . When the rear lid
is closed again, it locks automatically.
- The following applies to vehicles equ ipped
w ith the convenience key* feature : if the re­
mote contro l key is left in the luggage com­
partment , luggage compartment will auto­
matically unlock itse lf after you lock the ve ­
hicle. This prevents you from unintentiona l­
ly locking your key in the luggage compart­
ment.
- If the vehicle battery charge drops below a
certain level, you can still open or close the
rear lid manually, however, you will need to
app ly more force to close it.

Programming the button : Part 1 with the

1. Switch the ignition on.
2. Press and ho ld both outer b uttons in the roof
headliner ~

turns off completely (after about 20 sec­
onds). This procedure clears the s tandard co­
des that were set at the factory and does
not
need to be repeated again to program the
other buttons .
3. Br iefly p ress the b utton o n the roof headliner
that you wou ld like to program .
4. Wa it until the LED @ begins to blink quickly .
Programming mode is active for 5 minutes .
5. Move in front of yo ur vehicle while holding
the original remote control for the system
t hat would like to program to a button in the
roof headliner.

7. Press and hold the remote control until the
turn signals on your vehicle blink . This may
take up to 30 seconds.

emergency flashers only b lin k one t ime , the
5 minute time limit for t he p rogramming has
ended or the programm ing was not success­
fu l. Repeat the programming from the third
step, or try changing the distance to the radi­
ator grille.

- Programming using the buttons in the roof
headliner is not possible with all Infotain­
ment systems . If this is the case, program
the buttons as descr ibed in version A

- The required distance between the hand
transm itte r and the Homelink module in
the radiator grille~

system that you are prog ramming.
- Depending on the mode l of the system, you
may need to release the b utton o n the re­
mote contro l dur ing programm ing and
press it again. Hold each position yo u try for
a t least 15 seconds before trying another
posit ion . Keep the turn s ignals on your vehi­
cle in view when doing this .

Memory function
Description
Applies to vehicles: with memory function
The memory function allows you to quickly and
easi ly store and recall personal seating profiles
for the driver. The memory function is operated
through the master key and the memory buttons
in the driver 's door.
The driver's seating profile is stored and assigned
to the master key each time the vehicle is locked .
When you open the door , the seat profile is auto­
matica lly recalled. If two people use one vehicle,
it is recommended that each person always uses
" t heir own" master key .
Up to 2 seat profi les can be stored in the memory
buttons in the driver's doo r. Once they are stor­
ed, these seat profiles can be se lected at any
time.
In addition to the driver's seat settings, you can
also store and access the exterior mirror adjust­ ment settings* using the remote control key or
memory but ton.

To assign the driver's seat settings to the remote
control key when locking the vehicle, the function
must be activated in the radio or MMI*

Switching the memory function on/off
~ Press the I OFFI button to switch the memory

Storing a seat profile
~ Press the IS E T I button . When the word SET
lights up, the memory is ready to store set­
tings .
~ Press a memory button @or [Ii) briefly. A
tone confirms that the settings were stored.
Accessing a seat profile
~ If the driver's door is open and the ignition is
sw itched off, press the memory button .
~ If the driver's door is closed or the ignition is
sw itched on, press and hold the memory but­
ton until the seat adjustment is complete.
.&_ WARNING
-For safety reasons, the seat setting can only
be recalled when the vehicle is stationary­
otherwise you risk having an accident.
- In an emergency the recall procedure can be
cancelled by pressing the
! O FF ! switch or by
tapp ing the memory buttons.

Warm and cold
Climate control system
Description
The climate control system warms, cools and
adds humidity to the air in the veh icle inter ior. It
is the most effective when the windows and sun ­
roof are closed. If there is a build-up of heat in­
side the vehicle, ventilation can help to speed up
the cooling process.
I n all heating mode functions except
defrost, the
b lower only switches to a higher speed once the
engine coolant has reached a certain tempera­
ture .
Condensat ion from the cooling system can drip
and form a puddle of water under the veh icle.
This is normal and does not mean there is a leak.
P ollutant filt er
The pol lutant filte r removes pollutants such as
dust and pollen from the a ir.
The air pollutants filter must be changed at the intervals specif ied in your Warranty
& Mainte­
nance booklet, so that the a ir cond it ione r can
properly work.
If you drive your vehicle in an area with high air pollut ion, the filter may need to be changed
more frequently than specified i n your Aud i War­
ranty
& Maintenance booklet. If in doubt, ask
your author ized Audi Service Advisor for advice.
Ke y cod ed setting s
The climate control settings are automatically
stored and assigned to the remote control key
that is in use .

Reduced visib ility is dangerous and can ca use
accidents.
- For safe dr iv ing it is very impo rtan t that all
windows be free of ice, snow and condensa­
t ion .

- Complete ly familiarize yourself with the
proper use and function of the heating and
ventilation system and espec ially how to de­
fog and defrost the wi ndows .
- Never use the windshield wiper/washer sys­
tem in freezing weather until you have
warmed the windshield first, using the heat­ ing and vent ilation system. The washer solu­
tion may freeze on the windshield and re­
duce visibi lity.

- If you suspect that the air conditioner has
been damaged, sw itch the system off to
avoid further damage and have it inspected
by a q ualified dealership.
- Repa irs to the Aud i air cond itioner requ ire
special techn ica l know ledge and spec ial
tools. Contact an a uthorized Audi dealer fo r
assistance.
@ For the sake of the environment
By reduc ing the amo unt of fuel you use, you
also reduce the amount of pollutants emitted
into the a ir.

- Keep t he a ir intake slots (in front of the
windshield) free from ice, snow and debr is
in orde r to maintain the prope r funct ion of
the climate control system .
- The energy management sys tem may sw itch
the seat heating* o r rea r window defroster
off temporarily. These systems are available
again as soon as the energy balance has
been restored.
- Air escapes through vents under the rear
window. When placing items of clothing on
the luggage compartment cover, ensure
that the openings are not covered.
