34 Things to Know About the Emission Control Systems Warranty
If in a situation where you are
significantly inconvenienced, and it
is necessary to have repairs
performed by other than an
authorized General Motors
dealership, and you believe the
repairs are covered by the Emission
Control Systems Warranty, take the
replaced parts and your receipt to
your General Motors dealership
handling your vehicle line for
reimbursement consideration.
Receipts and records covering
the performance of regular
maintenance or emergency repairs
should be retained in the event
questions arise concerning
maintenance. These receipts and
records should be transferred to
each subsequent owner of this
vehicle. GM will not deny warranty
coverage based solely on the
absence of maintenance records.
However, GM may deny a warranty
claim if a failure to perform
scheduled maintenance resulted
in the failure of a warranted part. You should also be aware that GM
may deny you warranty coverage if
your vehicle or a part has failed
due to abuse, neglect, improper
maintenance, or modifications not
approved by GM.
