1. Shows the time until the next periodic inspection.
2. This informs you that a periodic inspec- tion is due. Contact an authorized Mit- subishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice to have the systemchecked. At that time, when the ignition switch is switched from the “OFF” position to the “ON” position, the warning display is dis-played for a few seconds on the informa- tion screen. Type 1 Type 2 3. After your vehicle is inspected at an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer, itdisplays the time until the next periodicinspection.
The “---” display can be reset while the igni- tion switch is in the “OFF” position. Whenthe display is reset, the time until the next periodic inspection is displayed and the warn- ing display is no longer displayed when theignition switch is switched from the “OFF” position to the “ON” position. 1. When you lightly press the multi-informa- tion meter switch, the information screen changes to the service reminder displayscreen.
NOTE
Except for vehicles equipped with Twin Clutch SST, shows the time until the periodic inspection every 6 mo
nths (7,500 miles or
12,000 km). For vehicles equipped with Twin Clutch SST, the service reminder time can be modi- fied by an authorized Mitsubishi Motorsdealer, to adjust for severe usage, etc. Refer to “Severe maintenance schedule” in your vehicle’s Warranty and Maintenance Man-ual. 2. When you lightly press the multi-informa- tion meter switch, the information screen changes to the function setting screen. Refer to “Information screen (With igni-tion switch in the “ON” position)” on page 5-114.
3. Press and hold the multi-information meter switch (for about 2 seconds or more) to switch from the setting mode screen to the menu screen.

CAUTION For safety, stop the vehicle before operating. While driving, even if you operate the multi- information meter switch, the function set-ting screen is not displayed.

The operation sound setting only deactivates the operation sound of the multi-information meter switch and rheostat meter illumination button. The warning display and other sounds cannot be deactivated.

4. The headlights will come on in the low beam setting for about 30 seconds. After the headlights go off, the headlights can be turned on again in the low beam settingfor about 30 seconds by pulling the turn signal lever toward you within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the“LOCK” position. To turn on the head- lights again after 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the “LOCK” posi-tion, repeat the process from step 1.

The direction of the headlight beam (thedirection in which the light shines) alters according to the number of people and the load in the vehicle. Lower the headlight angleif it is too high due to the number of people and/or the load in the vehicle so that the head- lights’ glare does not distract the drivers ofapproaching vehicles. First set the light switch to the “ ” position, then turn the headlight leveling switch knob to lower the beam. The greater the number on the head-light leveling switch knob, the lower the beam will point. Set the switch to the appropriate position sothat the headlight beam is level with the road.

When changing lanes, or to making a gradual turn, hold the lever in the “lane change” posi- tion (1). It will return to the neutral positionwhen you let go. Use the full position (2) when making a normal turn. The lever will return to the neutral position when the turn iscomplete. There may be times when the lever does not return to the neutral position. If you press the flasher switch, the front andrear turn signals will flash intermittently, and so will the hazard warning lights. This is an emergency warning system and should not beused when the vehicle is in motion, except for emergencies. If you need to leave your vehicle, the flasherswill keep working after the ignition switch is turned off.

The front fog lights illuminate only when the headlights are on low beam. Turning the knob in the direction of the “ON” position turns on the front fog lights as wellas the indicator in the instrument cluster. To turn them off, turn the knob in the direction of the “OFF” position.The knob will return to the neutral position when it is released.
NOTE
A light in the instrument panel flashes to show when the front and rear turn signal lights are working properly. If this light flashes faster than usual, checkfor a burned out light bulb or malfunctioning connection. If the panel light does not come on when thelever is moved, check for a blown fuse or a burned out bulb in the panel. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorizedMitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice. It is possible to modify functions as follows: • Deactivate the turn signal light 3-flash function for lane changes. • Adjust the time required to operate the lever for the 3-flash function.

Move the lever in the direction of the arrow and release, to operate the wipers once. Use this function when you are driving in mist or drizzle.The wipers will operate once if the lever is raised to the “MIST” position and released when the ignition switch is in the “ON” or
“ACC” position. The wipers will continue to operate while the lever is held in the “MIST” position. The wipers will operate once if the lever is moved to the “AUTO” position and the knob (C) is turned in the “+”direction when the ignition switch is “ON” position.

To turn on the windshield washer, pull thelever toward you with the ignition switch ineither the “ON” or “ACC” position. The washer fluid will be sprayed onto the windshield by pulling the lever toward you.When the wipers are not in operation or in intermittent operation, by pulling the lever toward you, the wipers will operate severaltimes while the washer fluid is being sprayed.Also, by releasing the lever soon after pulling it toward you, the washer fluid will be sprayed several times while the wipers areoperating several times.
