Open the fuel tank filler tube by slowly
turning the cap anticlockwise.

4. While filling with fuel, hang the fuel cap
cord on the hook located on the inside of
the fuel tank filler door.
CAUTIONl Since the fuel system may be under pressure,
remove the fuel cap slowly. This relieves any pressure or vacuum that might have
built up in the fuel tank. If you hear a hissing sound from the cap, wait until it stops before
removing the cap. Otherwise, fuel may spray
out, injuring you or others.
5. Insert the gun in the tank port as far as it
goes.
CAUTIONl Do not tilt the gun.
6.
When the gun stops automatically, do
not fill with fuel any more.
7. Close the fuel cap. To close, turn the fuel cap slowly clock-
wise until you hear clicking sounds, then
gently push the fuel tank filler door
closed.

NOTElIf a problem is detected in the air condition-
ing system, the air conditioning operation in- dication lamp (A) blinks. Press the air condi-
tioning switch once to turn it off, then once more to turn it back on. If the air condition-
ing operation indication lamp does not blink for a while, there is nothing wrong. If it
starts to blink again, we recommend you to have it checked.
l Sometimes, for example after using a high-
pressure car wash, the condenser can get
wet, and the operation indication lamp (A) blinks temporarily. In this case there is noth-ing wrong. Wait a while, press the air condi-
tioning switch once to turn the system off,
then once more to turn it back on. Once the water evaporates, the blinking will stop.Customizing the air condition-

Functions can be changed as desired, as sta- ted below.
l Enable automatic air conditioning con-
trol:
If the mode selection dial or blower
speed selection dial is turned to the “AUTO” position, or the temperature
control dial is set to the minimum tem-
perature, the air conditioning switch is controlled automatically.
l Disable automatic air conditioning con-
trol:
The air conditioning switch is not con-
trolled automatically as long as the air
conditioning switch is not operated.
l Setting change method
Hold down the air conditioning switch for about 10 seconds or more.
When the setting is changed, a sound is
emitted and the indication lamp flashes. • When the setting is changed from ena-
ble to disable 3 sounds are emitted and
the indication lamp flashes 3 times.
• When the setting is changed from dis-
able to enable 2 sounds are emitted and the indication lamp flashes 3times.NOTEl The factory setting is “Enable automatic air
conditioning control”.
l When you turn the mode selection dial to
“
”, in order to prevent misting of the
windows the air conditioning operates auto- matically even if “Disable automatic air con-
ditioning control” is set.

4. Change the temperature by turning the control dial clockwise or anticlockwise.

CAUTIONl If the outside air is dusty or otherwise conta-
minated, or if high cooling performance is
desired, set air selection switch to the recir- culation position and the temperature control
dial all the way to the left.
Switch to the outside position periodically to increase ventilation so that the windows donot become fogged up.NOTEl When the air conditioning operates with the
selection switch in the outside position, the
system automatically determines whether to continue using outside air or to perform re-
circulation. If the outside air temperature is high, the system selects recirculation to ach- ieve rapid cooling and causes the indication
lamp in the switch to illuminate. Press the

Introduction of outside air(Heater/Manual air condition- ing)

To introduce air into the vehicle during hot
weather, set the air selection switch (A) to the
outside position and set the temperature con-
trol dial to the positions shown in the illustra- tion. Be sure to set the temperature control dial all the way to the left. Select the desiredblower speed.
NOTEl Turn the mode selection dial clockwise and
air will flow to the leg area and the wind-

l Park the vehicle in the shade.
Parking in the hot sun will make the ve-
hicle inside extremely hot, and it will re-
quire more time to cool the interior.
If it is necessary to park in the sun, open the windows for the first few minutes of
air conditioning operation to expel the
hot air.
l Close the windows when the air condi-
tioning is in use.
The entry of outside air through open
windows will reduce the cooling effi- ciency.
l Too much cooling is not good for the
health. Keep the difference between the
vehicle interior temperature and outside
temperature to 5 to 6 °C.
l When operating the system, make sure
the air intake, which is located in front
of the windscreen, is free of obstructions such as leaves and snow. Leaves collec- ted in the air-intake plenum may reduce
air flow and plug the plenum water
drains.Air conditioning system refrig-
erant and lubricant recommen- dations
If the air conditioning seems less effective than usual, the cause might be a refrigerant
leak. We recommend you to have the system inspected.
The air conditioning system in your vehicle must be charged with the refrigerant
HFC-134a and the lubricant SUN-PAG56.
Use of any other refrigerant or lubricant will
cause severe damage which will result in the need to replace your vehicle’s entire air con-
ditioning system. The release of refrigerant into the atmosphere is not recommended.
The new refrigerant HFC-134a in your vehi-
cle will not harm the ozone layer.
We recommend you to recover and recycle the refrigerant for reuse.
During a long period of disuse
The air conditioning should be operated for at
least five minutes each week, even in cold
weather. This is to prevent the compressor from seizing and to maintain the air condi-
tioning in the best operating condition.
