ter air) and centre/ side das hboard diffus ers and rear
diffus er (cooler air).
˙Air flow dis tribution between centre/s ide dashboard
diffus ers, rear diffus er and winds creen and front side
window demisting/defrosting diffusers. This distri-
bution setting ventilates the passenger compartment
well and prevents the windows from misting up.
IMPORTANT For the climate control system to function, at
leas t one of the following buttons must be on:

Internal air recirculation i s carried out according to three
possible operating mode s:
❍ automatic control, s ignalled by the AQS s ign on the
dis play and the LED on button
Tbeing off;
❍ permanently off (air recirculation alwa ys off with in-
troduction of external air), indicated by the LED on
button
Tbeing off;
❍ permanentl y on (air recirculation alwa ys on), signalled
b y the LED on button
Tbeing lit up.
When OFF is pressed, the climate control system auto-
matically activates internal air recirculation (LED on but-

Ton). It is s till possible to activate outs ide air re-
circulation (LED on the button off) and vice ver sa, by
pressing button
T.
With the OFF button pre ssed (LED on the button is lit
up), it is not possible to enable the AQ S (Air Qualit y Sys-
tem) function. IMPORTANT The internal air recirculation system makes
it possible to reach the required heating or cooling con-
ditions
faster depending on the mode s elected. It is not ad-
vis able to s witch the air recirculation on when it i s
rainy /cold to prevent the window s from mis ting up, es -
pecially if the climate control is not turned on. It is ad-
vis able to s witch the internal air recirculation on whil st
queuing or in tunnel s to prevent the introduction of pol-
luted air. Do not u se the function for a long time, partic-
ularly if there are several passengers on board, to pre-
vent the window s from mis ting up.
Enabling the AQS (Air Qualit y System) function
(for vers ions/markets , where provided)
The AQS function (AQS appears on the dis play), auto-
matically activates internal air r
ecirculation when the out-
s ide air is polluted (e.g. in traffic queue s and tunnels ).
IMPORTANT With the AQS function active, after 15 con-
s ecutive minute s of the internal air recirculation system
functioning, the climate control system enables the intake
of outs ide air for approximatel y 1 minute to fres hen the
air in the passenger compartment. Thi s takes place re-
gardless of the pollution level of the out side air.

LANE CHANGE FUNC TION
If you wis h to signal a lane change, place the left stalk in
the uns table pos ition for less than half a s econd. The di-

a certain period of time.
Activation
With the ignition key in the STOP pos ition or extracted,
pull the s talk towards the steering wheel and move it with-
in 2 minute s of the engine s witching off. Each time the
s talk is moved, the light s s tay on for an extra 30 seconds

i s pulled for the firs t time and stays lit until the function
s witches itself off automatically . Each time the stalk is ac-
tivated it increas es the time that the lights remain on.
Deactivation
Keep the s talk pulled towards the steering wheel for more
than two s econds.
WINDOW CLEANING
The right-hand lever fig. 34 control s winds creen wiper/

WINDSCREEN WIPER/WAS HER
This operates only with the ignition key turned to
MAR.
The right hand lever can take up five different po sitions :
A: winds creen wiper off.
B: intermittent operation.
With the s talk in pos ition B, turn ring nut F to s elect one
of four different s peeds for the intermittent operation
mode:
, = very slow intermittent operation
■= slow intermittent operation.
■■= normal intermittent operation
■■■= fas t intermittent operation.
C: continuou s s low operation;
D: continuou s fas t operation;

turn on the rear window wiper. In thi s cas e the wiper works
(in the different pos itions) timed with the winds creen
wiper, but at half speed. With the wind screen wiper on,
engaging revers e gear will automaticall y turn the rear win-
dow wiper on, in continuou s s low operation. Operation
s tops when revers e is dis engaged.
Do not use the windscreen or rear window
wiper to remove layers of snow or ice from
the windscreen. In such conditions, the wiper
may be subjected to excessive stress and the motor
protection, which prevents operation for a few sec-
onds, may intervene. If rear window wiper opera-
tion is not reset, contact a Lancia Dealership.

RAIN SENS OR
(for vers ions/markets where provided)
The rain s ensor A - fig. 35 i s located behind the internal
rear view mirror in contact with the wind screen and au-
tomatically adjusts the frequenc y of the winds creen wiper
s trokes according to the rain intens ity during intermittent
operation.
The sens or has an adjus tment range that varie s progres -
s ively from wiper s till (no stroke) when the wind screen
i s dry , to wiper at firs t continuous s peed (s low continu-
ou s operation) with inten se rain.
fig. 35L0E0023m
Activation
Move the right lever down b y one click.
The activation of the sens or is s ignalled by a “stroke” to
s how that the command ha s been acquired.
IMPORTANT Keep the gla ss in the sensor area clean.
B y turning ring nut F - fig. 34 it i s possible to increas e the
s ens itivity of the rain sens or to obtain a more rapid vari-
ation between wiper s till (no stroke) when the winds creen
i s dry , to wiper at firs t continuous s peed (s low continu-
ous operation).
The increas ing of the rain sens or sens itivity is s ignalled b y
a “s troke” to s how that the command ha s been acquired.
Activating the winds creen washers with the rain s ensor
activated pr
oduce s the normal was hing cycle at the end of
which the rain s ensor res umes its normal automatic op-
eration.

one of the two buttons is pressed briefly , the window moves
in “s tages ”; if the button i s held down, “continuous au-

Improper use of the electric windows can be
dangerous. Before and during its operation
ensure that any passengers are not at risk
from the moving roof either by personal objects get-
ting caught in the mechanism or by being injured
by it directly.
Always remove the ignition key when you get
out of the car to prevent the sunroof from be-
ing operated accidentally and constituting a
danger to the people still on board.
