The key is provided with a metal ins ert A, which operates:
❍ the ignition s witch
❍ the door lock s
To open/clo se the metal ins ert, press button B.
Button
Ëremotely releases the doors locks.
In this case the timed lighting of interior courtesy lights
and double flas hing of direction indicator s (for ver-
s ions /markets where provided) takes place.

Ëfor longer than 2 s econds: window
opening.
Button
Álocks all the door s remotely . In this
case the interior roof light s s witch off and the di-
rection indicators flash once.
Pressing button
Áfor longer than 2 seconds : window clo s-
ing.
If one or more door are open, the door s will not be locked.
Button
Ri s u sed to open the boot remotel y.
The opening of the tailgate i s s ignalled b y the direction in-
dicators flashing twice; when it is closed there is one flash
(only with the alarm on, for ver sions /markets where pro-
vided).
Button B activates power-assisted opening of metal in-
s ert A.
To reins ert the metal ins ert into the grip, hold down but-
ton B and turn the ins ert in the direction shown by the ar-
row until y ou hear it click into place. After locking, relea se
button B.

VOLUMETRIC/ANTI-LIFT PROTEC TION
To guarantee the correct operation of the protection sys-
tem it is advisable to s hut all the s ide windows and the sun
roof (for ver sions /markets where provided).
If necessary , the function can be turned off (if, for exam-
ple, you are leaving an animal in the car) b y pressing but-
ton A-fig. 18, located in the front courtesy light, before
activating the alarm it self.
When the function is disabled, this is indicated by the LED
on the button flas hing for several seconds . Any disabling
of the volume s ensing/anti-lift protection mu st be repeat-
ed each time the ins trument panel is switched off.
BREAK IN ATTEMPT INDI CAT I O N
Any break in attempt i s indicated by the
Ywarning light
(or symbol in the dis play) lighting up, together with a mes -
s age shown in the dis play (see “Ins trument panel warn-
ing lights ” paragraph). DIS
ABLING THE ALARM
To turn the alarm off completel y (for example, if the ve-
hicle is not being us ed for a long time) the vehicle mu st be
clos ed by turning the metal ins ert in the key in the lock
without us ing the remote control.
IMPORTANT If the batter y of the key with the remote
control runs out or the system fails , the alarm can be
s witched off by placing the key in the ignition s witch and
turning it to MAR.

IMPORTANT It is advisable to activate air recirculation
in queues or in tunnels to prevent the introduction of pol-
luted air. However, it is better not to use the function for
long periods , particularly if there are many people on
board, to prevent the window s from mis ting.
D. Air recirculation on/off button (LED lit up when function i s on).
E Manual climate control compre ssor on/off button (LED
lit up when function is on).
F Heated rear window activation/deactivation button. When the function is active, an LED on the button i s
lit up. In order to maintain batter y efficiency , the func-
tion is automaticall y deactivated after about 20 min-
utes . FA
ST WINDSCREEN AND FRONT S IDE
WINDOW DEMIS TING/DEFROSTING (MAX-DEF)
Proceed as follows:
❍ turn knob A to the red section;
❍ turn knob C to
Ú;
❍ turn knob D to -;
❍ turn knob B to 4 -(maximum fan s peed).
IMPORTANT The climate control system is very useful
for fas t demis ting becaus e it dries the air. Adjus t the con-
trols a s described above and press knob B to switch the
climate control system on: the LED on the knob will light
up.
S Y STEM SERVIC ING
In winter, the climate control system must be turned on at
leas t once a month for about 10 minute s. Have the sys-
tem ins pected at a Lancia Dealer ship before the s ummer.

SWITC HING ON THE C LIMATE
C ONTROL SY STEM
The system can be activated b y pressing any of the but-
tons ; it is , however, advi sable to s et the des ired tempera-
tures on the dis play, then press the AUTO button.
The climate control system allows y ou to cus tomise the
temperatures requested (driver s ide and passenger side)
with a maximum difference of 7°C.
The climate control system compressor only works with
the engine running and with an outs ide temperature above
4°C.
It is advisable not to use the internal air re-
circulation function when the outside tem-
perature is low to prevent the windows from
rapidly misting up.
Automatic climate control operation
(AUTO function) A - fi g. 31
Press the AUTO button; the system will automatically ad-
jus t:
❍ the amount of air introduced into the pa ssenger com-
partment;
❍ the dis tribution of air ins ide the passenger compart-
ment;
cancelling an y previous manual s ettings.
During climate control system automatic operation, the
words FULL AUTO appear on the di splay .
During automatic operation it is s till possible to adju st the
temperatures set and carry out one of the following op-
erations manually :
❍ adjus t fan s peed;
❍ select air dis tribution;
❍ switch internal air recirculation and AQS function
on/off (for ver sions /markets , where provided);
❍ switch on the climate control system compressor.
