Fuel reserve (amber)When the key is turned to MAR, the warning
light switches on but it s hould switch off after
a few s econds. The warning light s witches on
when about 5 to 7 litre s of fuel are left in the tank.

The driving speed must always be suitable
for traffic and weather conditions and the
driver must always comply with the High-
way Code. The engine can also be switched off if the
DPF warning light is on; nevertheless, repeated in-
terruptions of the regeneration process could cause
an early deterioration of engine oil. For this reason,
always wait until the warning light switches off be-
fore stopping the engine as described above. It is not
advisable to complete DPF regeneration with the
car stationary.If the warning light remains on or comes on whilst driving,
it means that the injection system is not working proper-
l y ; in particular, if the warning light come s on cons tant-
l y , this indicates a malfunction in the s upply/ignition sys-
tem that could caus e excessive exhaust emissions , a pos-
s ible loss of performance, poor driveabilit y and high fuel
cons umption. On some vers ions the dis play s hows the ded-
icated message. Under the se conditions , you may contin-
ue travelling at a moderate speed without demanding ex-
cessive effort from the engine. Prolonged u se of the car
with the warning light on con stantly may cau se damage.

EOBD/injection sy stem failure (amber)
Under normal condition s, when the ignition ke y
i s turned to MAR, the warning light switches on,
but should switch off as s oon as the engine i s s tart-
ed.

Go to a Lancia Dealership as soon as possi-
ble if U warning light either does not light
up when the key is turned to MAR or if while
travelling the warning light comes on either con-
stantly or flashing (on some versions along with a
message in the display). The operation of the U
warning light may be checked by the traffic con-
trol authorities using specific devices. Comply with
the laws and regulations of the country where you
are driving.

EOBD SYSTEM
The EOBD system (European On Board Diagnosis ) car-
ries out a continuou s diagno sis of the components of the
car related to emissions . It also alerts the driver, by turn-
ing on the
Uwarning light in the ins trument panel to-
gether with a message in the reconfigurable multifunction
dis play , when thes e components are no longer in peak con-
dition (s ee “Instrument panel warning light s” paragraph).
The goal of the system is to:
❍ to keep system efficiency under control;
❍ to signal a fault which caus es emission level s to in-
creas e;
❍ to signal the need to replace deteriorated component s.
The system als o has a connector that can be interfaced
with appropriate equipment, which makes it possible to
read the error code s s tored in the control unit together with
a series of specific parameter s for engine operation and
diagnos is .
This check can al so be carried out b y traffic control au-
thorities . IMPORTANT After eliminating the failure, to check the
system completely
