48 Opening and clo sing
• To set an intermediate position, press/pull
the switch until the sunroof reaches the de­
s ired posit ion .
Opening
• To move the sunroof to the position for re ­
duced wind noise, tu rn the switch to posi­
tion @ until resistance can be felt.
• To open the sunroof complete ly, turn and
ho ld the switch against the resistance in po­
s it ion @.
• To close the sunroof, turn the switch to posi­
tion @ <=>,& .
• Turn the sw itch to the desired position to se­
lect an intermediate pos it ion.
Opening and closing the sun shade
• To automatically open the sunshade com­
pletely, briefly press the sw itch @ in the de­
s ired arrow d irect ion.
• To stop the sunshade in an intermed iate po­
s it io n, press the switc h again, or
• Press and ho ld the switch in the desi red a r­
row direction.
• Re lease the switch when sunshade is at de -
s ired position .
Afte r the ignit ion is switched off, you can st ill
ope rate the Panoram ic sliding sunroof fo r
about 10 min utes . As soon as the driver's or
passenger's door is opened, the switch is in­
operat ive.
The power sunshade can a lso be closed when
the Panoramic sliding sunroof is open .
A WARNING -
Pay careful attention when closing the
Panoramic sliding sunroof -otherwise seri­
ous injury could result! For this reason, al­
ways remove the ignition key when leaving
the vehicle .
Cy Note
Always close your Panoram ic sliding sun­
roof when leaving your veh icle. Sudden
ra in can cause damage to the interio r
equ ipment of your vehicle, pa rticularly the
electronic equipment.

Emergency closing of the Panoramic
sliding sunroof
Applies to vehicles: with Panoramic sliding sunroof
If the Pano ramic sliding sunroof detects an
object in its path when it is closing, it w ill
open again automa tically. In th is case , you
can close the roof with t he power emergency
closing function.
• Within five seconds after the sunroof opens
automatically , pu ll the switc h until the roof
closes .

Stowing luggage
Loading the luggage compartment
All luggage and other objects must be prop­
erly stowed and secured in the luggage com­
partment.

Loose items in the luggage compartment can
shift suddenly, changing vehicle handling
characteristics . Loose items can also increase
the r isk of serious personal injury in a sudden
veh icle maneuver or in a collision .
~ Distribute the load evenly in the luggage
compartment.
~ Always place and properly secure heavy
items in the luggage compartment as low
and as far forward as poss ible

Improperly stored luggage or other items
can fly through the vehicle causing serious
personal injury in the event of hard brak­
ing or an acc ident. To help reduce the risk
of serious personal injury:
- Always put objects, for example, luggage
or other heavy items in the luggage com­
partment.
- Always secure objects in the luggage
compartment us ing the tie-down eye lets
and suitable straps .

A WARNING
Heavy loads will influence the way your ve­
h icle handles. To help reduce the risk of a
loss of control leading to serious personal
injury:
-Always keep in mind when transporting
heavy objects, that a change in the cen­
ter of gravity can also cause changes in
veh icle handling:
- Always distribute the load as evenly as
possible.
- Place heavy objects as far forward in
the luggage compartment as possible.
- Never exceed the Gross Axle Weight Rat­
ing or the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
specified on the safety compliance stick­
er on the left door jamb. Exceeding per­
missible weight standards can cause the
veh icle to slide and handle differently.

A WARNING
To help prevent poisonous exhaust gas
from being drawn into the vehicle, a lways
keep the rear lid closed while driving.
- Never transport objects larger than
-
those fitting comp letely into the luggage
area because the rear lid cannot be fu lly
closed.
- If you absolutely must dr ive with the rear
lid open, observe the following notes to
reduce the risk of poisoning:
- Close all windows,
- Close the Panoramic sliding sunroof *,
- Open all air outlets in the inst rument
panel,
- Switch off the air rec irculat ion,
- Set the fresh a ir fan to the highest
speed.

Vehicle care and clean ing
General information
Regular, proper care helps to maintain your
vehicle 's value. It can also be a requirement
when submitting warranty claims for corro ­
sion damage and paint defects on the body .
The required cleaning and care products can
be obtained from your authorized Audi dealer
or a qualified workshop . Read and follow the
instructions for use on the packaging.
A WARNING
-Us ing clean ing and care products incor­
rectly can be dangerous to your hea lth.
- Always store cleaning and care products
out of reach of children to reduce the risk
of poisoning.
@) For the sake of the environment
-Preferably use environmentally-friendly
products when buying cleaning agents.
- Do not d ispose of leftover cleaning and
care products with household trash .
Car washes
-
The longer that deposits such as insects, bird
droppings, tree sap or road salt remain on the
vehicle, the more the surface can be dam­ aged. High temperatures such as those
caused by sunlight increase the corrosive ef­
fect.
Before washing, wet heavy deposits w ith plen­
ty of water.
Also, wash the underside of your vehicle once road salt stops be ing used for the season.
Pressure washers
When washing your vehicles with a pressure
washer, always follow the operating instruc­
tions provided w ith the pressure washer . Th is
is especially important in regard to the pres ­
sure and spraying distance. Do not aim the
spray directly at seals on side w indows, doors,

the hood, the rear lid or the sunroof* or at
tires, rubber hoses, insulating material, sen­ sors* or camera lenses* . Keep a distance of at
least 16 inches (40 cm).
Do not remove snow and ice with a pressure
washer.
Never use rotary nozzles or high pressure noz­
zles.
The water temperature must not be above
140 °F (60 °C) .
Automatic car washes
Spray off the vehicle before washing.
Make sure that the windows and roof* are
closed and the windshield wipers are
off. Fol­
low instructions from the car wash operator,
especially if there are accessories attached to
your vehicle.
If possible, use car washes that do not have
brushes .
Washing by hand
Clean the vehicle starting from the top and
working down using a soft sponge or cleaning
brush. Use solvent-free cleaning products.
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint
by hand
To avoid damaging the paint when washing,
first remove dust and large particles from
your vehicle. Insects, grease spots and finger­ prints are best removed with a special cleaner
for matte finish paint.
Apply the product using a microfiber cloth. To
avoid damaging the paint surface, do not use
too much pressure .
Rinse the vehicle thoroughly with water. Then
clean using a neutral shampoo and a soft mi­
crof iber cloth.
Rinse the vehicle thoroughly again and let it
air dry . Remove any water residue using a
shammy.
Stubborn deposits such as bi rd droppings or
tree sap are best removed with plenty of wa-
ter and a microfiber cloth.
