mirrors

detection

on

rear
bumpers
with
adhesive
labels
or
other
objects;
they
may
hamper
the
correct
operation
of
the
system.

deactivate

press

warning
lamp
goes

The
state
of
the
system
remains
in
memory
on
switching
off
the
ignition.
Operating fault
In the event of a fault, the warning lamp in
the button flashes then goes off.

PARKING SPACE SENSORS
System which measures the parking space
available between two vehicles
or
obstacles.
It
measures
the
size
of
the
space
and gives you information on:
-
the
possibility
of
fitting
into
a
free space,
depending
on
the
dimensions of
your
vehicle
and
the
distances needed
for manoeuvring,
-
the
level
of
difficulty
of
the
manoeuvre to
be performed.
The
system
does
not
measure
spaces
which
are
clearly
much
smaller
or
larg
-
er
than the size of the vehicle.Displays in the instrument panel

The
parking
space
sensor
function
warning
lamp
can
have
two different states:
Operation
You have identified a parking space:

Press button
A
to select the function.

Operate
the
direction
indicator
on
the
side
where
the
space
is
to
be
measured;
a
message
is
displayed
to
confirm
that
measurement
is
in
progress.
F
During
measurement,
go
forward
the
length
of
the
space,
at
a
speed
less
than
12
mph
(approx.
20
km/h),
to
prepare for your manoeuvre.
F
Once
the
measurement
has
been
completed,
the
system
informs
you
of
the
level
of
difficulty
of
the
ma
-
noeuvre
by
a
message
in
the
multi
-
function
screen
accompanied
by
an
audible
signal.

lateral
distance
between
your

the
parking
space

too
large,
the
system
may
not
be
able
to
measure
the
space.
If there is a fault, have the sys-
tem
checked
by
a
CITROËN
dealer
or a qualified workshop.
The
system
remains
available
after
each
measurement
and
can
therefore
measure
several spaces in succession.
In poor or wintry weather, ensure that
the
sensors
are
free
of
dirt,
ice
or
snow
.
The
parking
space
sensor
system
de
-
activates
the
front
parking
sensors
when
measuring forwards.

PARKING SENSORS
This system indicates the proximity of
an obstacle (person, vehicle, tree,
gate, etc.)
which
comes
within
the
field of
detection
of
sensors
located
in
the bumper
.
Certain
types
of
obstacle
(stake,
road
-
works
cone,
etc.)
detected
initially
will
no
longer
be
detected
at
the
end
of
the
manoeuvre
due
to
the
presence
of
blind
spots.
This function cannot, in any cir
-
cumstances,
take
the
place
of
the
vigilance of the driver.The
system
is
switched
on
by
engaging
reverse
gear
.
This
is
accompanied
by
an
audible signal.
The
system
is
switched
of
f
when
you
come
out of reverse gear.
Rear parking sensors
Audible assistance
The
proximity
information
is
given
by
an
intermittent
audible
signal,
the
frequen
-
cy of which increases as the vehicle ap-
proaches
the obstacle.
The
sound
emitted
by
the
speaker
(right
or
left)
indicates
the
side
on
which
the
obstacle
is located.
When
the
distance
between
the
vehicle
and
the
obstacle
becomes
less
than
approximately
thirty
centimetres,
the
audible
signal becomes continuous.Visual assistance
This
supplements
the
audible
signal
by
displaying
bars
in
the
multifunction
screen
which
move
progressively
near
-
er
to
the
vehicle.
When
the
obstacle
is
near
,
the
"Danger"
symbol
is
displayed
in
the screen.

In addition to the rear parking sensors, the
front parking sensors are triggered when
an
obstacle
is
detected
in
front and
the
speed
of
the
vehicle
is
still
below 6
mph (10 km/h).
The
front parking sensors are interrupted
if
the
vehicle
stops
for
more
than
three seconds
in
forward
gear
,
if
no
further
ob
-
stacles
are
detected
or
when
the
speed of
the vehicle exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).

The

comes on.

reactivates

carrier

When
reverse
gear
is

message
appears

screen,

signal

Putting the standard wheel back in
placeTyre under-inflation detection
The
spare
wheel
is
not
fitted
with
a
sensor
.
The
punctured
wheel
must
be
repaired
by
a
CITROËN
dealer
or aqualified workshop.
Taking out the standard wheel

Put
the wheel back in its housing.

Unscrew
the
yellow
central
bolt
by
a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre
of the wheel.

T
ighten
fully
until
the
central
bolt
clicks
to retain the wheel correctly.

Unscrew
the
yellow
central
bolt.

Raise
the
spare
wheel
towards
you
from
the
rear.

T
ake
the
wheel
out
of
the
boot. F
Put
the
box
back
in
place
in
the
cen

tre
of the wheel and clip it.

and extract it.

For

replacement

LED
lamp,

Changing integrated direction
indicator side repeaters

Insert
a
screwdriver
towards
the
centre of the repeater between the
repeater
and
the
base
of
the
mirror.
F
T
ilt
the
screwdriver
to
extract
the
re
-
peater
and
remove
it.
F
Disconnect
the
repeater
connector.
To
reassemble,
carry
out
these
operations in
reverse
order.

TOWING A TRAILER
We recommend the use of genu -
ine CITROËN towbars and their
harnesses
that
have
been
tested
and
approved
from
the
design
stage
of
your
vehicle,
and
that
the
fitting
of
the
towbar
is
en
-
trusted
to
a
CITROËN
dealer
or
a
qualified workshop.
If
the
towbar
is
not
fitted
by
a
CITROËN
dealer
,
it
must
still
be
fitted
in
accordance
with
the
vehicle
manufacturer's
instruc
-
tions.
Your
vehicle
is
primarily
designed
for
transporting
people
and
luggage,
but
it
may
also be used for towing a trailer.
Driving
with
a
trailer
places
greater
de
-
mands
on
the
towing
vehicle
and
the
driver
must take particular care.
Driving advice
Distribution of loads
F
Distribute
the
load
in
the
trailer
so
that
the
heaviest
items
are
as
close
as
possible
to
the
axle
and
the
nose
weight
approaches
the
maximum
permitted
without exceeding it.
Air
density
decreases
with
altitude,
thus
reducing
engine
performance.
Above
1
000
metres,
the
maximum
towed
load
must
be
reduced
by
10
%
for
every
1 000
metres of altitude.
Side wind
F
T
ake
into
account
the
increased
sensitivity
to side wind.
Cooling
Towing
a
trailer
on
a
slope
increases
the
temperature of the coolant.
As
the
fan
is
electrically
controlled,
its
cooling
capacity
is
not
dependent
on
the
engine speed.
F
T
o
lower
the
engine
speed,
reduce
your
speed. The
maximum
towed
load
on
a
long
in
-
cline depends on the gradient and the ambient
temperature.
In all cases, keep a check on the
coolant
temperature.
F
If
the
warning
lamp
and
the
ST
OP
warning
lamp
come
on,
stop
the
vehicle
and
switch
of
f
the
engine
as
soon
as possible.
Braking
Towing
a
trailer
increases
the
braking
distance.
T
o
avoid
overheating
of
the
brakes
on
a
long
mountain
type
of
descent,
the
use
of
engine braking is recommended.
Tyres
F
Check
the
tyre
pressures
of
the
towing
vehicle
and
of
the
trailer
,
observing
the
recommended
pres
-
sures.
Lighting
F
Check
the
electrical
lighting
and
sig
-
nalling
on the trailer.
Refer
to
the
"T
echnical
data"
section
for
details
of
the
weights
and
towed
loads
which
apply to your vehicle.
The
rear
parking
sensors
will
be
deactivated
automatically
if
a
genuine
CITROËN
towbar
is
used.
