To inject the sealant and inflate
the tire, turn the compressor
switch on.
Use the kit with the top facing
upward.
Inflate the tire until the recom-
mended pressure is reached.
The sealant will be injected
and the pressure will spike to
300 kPa (3.0 kgf/cm
2 or bar,
44 psi) or 400 kPa (4.0 kgf/
cm
2 or bar, 58 psi), then gradu-
ally decrease.
The air pressure gauge will
display the actual tire inflation
pressure about 1 minute after
the switch is turned on.
• Turn the compressor switch
off and then check the tire
inflation pressure. Being
careful not to over inflate,
check and repeat the infla-
tion procedure until the rec-
ommended tire inflation
pressure is reached.

When trouble arises
If your vehicle overheats
If the high coolant temperature warning light comes on or flashes
Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the air conditioning sys-
tem, and then stop the hybrid system.
If you see steam:
Carefully lift the hood after the steam subsides.
If you do not see steam:
Carefully lift the hood.
After the hybrid system has cooled down sufficiently, inspect the
hoses and radiator core (radiator) for any leaks.

If a large amount of coolant
leaks, immediately contact any
authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly quali-
fied and equipped professional.
The following may indicate that your vehicle is overheating.
The high coolant temperature warning light (P. 570) comes on or
flashes, or a loss of hybrid system power is experienced. (For exam-
ple, the vehicle speed does not increase.)
The warning message indicating overheats is shown on the multi-
information display. (P. 583)
Steam comes out from under the hood.

When trouble arises

Stop the vehicle in a safe place.
Stop the hybrid system and carefully lift the hood.
After the hybrid system has cooled down, inspect the hoses and radi-
ator core (radiator) for any leaks.

The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the “FULL” and

If the message does not disappear:
Stop the hybrid system and contact any authorized Lexus dealer or
repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.
If the message is not displayed:
Have the vehicle inspected at the nearest any authorized Lexus
dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes-
sional.
WA R N I N G
To prevent an accident or injury when inspecting under the hood of your vehicle
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in serious injury such as burns.
If steam is seen coming from under the hood, do not open the hood until the
steam has subsided. The engine compartment may be very hot.
After the hybrid system has been turned off, check that the indicator on the
power switch and the “READY” indicator are off.
When the hybrid system is operating, the gasoline engine may automatically
start, or the cooling fan may suddenly operate even if the gasoline engine
stops. Do not touch or approach rotating parts such as the fan, which may lead
to fingers or clothing (especially a tie, a scarf or a muffler) getting caught,
resulting in serious injury.
Do not loosen the coolant reservoir cap while the hybrid system and radiator
are hot.
High temperature steam or coolant could spray out.
NOTICE
When adding engine/power control unit coolant
Add coolant slowly after the hybrid system has cooled down sufficiently. Add-
ing cool coolant to a hot hybrid system too quickly can cause damage to the
hybrid system.
To prevent damage to the cooling system
Observe the following precautions:
Avoid contaminating the coolant with foreign matter (such as sand or dust
etc.).
Do not use any coolant additive.

Oil viscosity (0W-20 is explained here as an example):
• The 0W in 0W-20 indicates the characteristic of the oil which allows
cold startability. Oils with a lower value before the W allow for eas-
ier starting of the engine in cold weather.
• The 20 in 0W-20 indicates the viscosity characteristic of the oil
when the oil is at high temperature. An oil with a higher viscosity
(one with a higher value) may be better suited if the vehicle is oper-
ated at high speeds, or under extreme load conditions.
How to read oil container labels:
Either or both API registered marks are added to some oil containers to
help you select the oil you should use.
API Service Symbol
Top portion: “API SERVICE SN”
means the oil quality designation
by American Petroleum Institute
(API).
Center portion: “SAE 0W-20”
means the SAE viscosity grade.
Lower portion: “Resource-Con-
serving” means that the oil has
fuel-saving and environmental
protection capabilities.
ILSAC Certification Mark
The International Lubricant Spec-
ification Advisory Committee
(ILSAC) Certification Mark is
displayed on the front of the con-
tainer.

Some function settings are changed simultaneously with other functions
being customized. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified and equipped professional for further details.
When customizing vehicle features, ensure that the vehicle is parked in a
safe place with the shift position in P and the parking brake set.
Changing using the Remote Touch
Press the “MENU” button on the Remote Touch.
Select “Setup” on the “Menu” screen and select “Vehicle”.
Various setting can be changed. Refer to the list of settings that can be
changed for details.
Changing using the Lexus Display Audio controller
Press the “MENU” button on the Lexus Display Audio controller.
Select “Setup” on the “MENU” screen and select “Vehicle”.

the vehicle is stopped, and then press and hold the “DISP” switch
to display the customize mode screen.
Press the “DISP” switch and select the item, and then press and
