Alarm

Do not make any modifications tothe alarm system, this could cause malfunctions.

If an opening - door or boot - is not closed fully, the vehicle is not locked, but the exterior perimeter protectionwill be activated after 45 seconds at the same time as the interior volumetric protection. S
ystem which protects and provides a deterrent against the theft of your vehicle. It provides two types of protection, exterior and interior, as well as a self-protection function.


Exterior perimeter protection

The system detects opening of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to enter
the vehicle by forcing a door, the boot or thebonnet.

Interior volumetric protection
The system detects any variation in the volume
in the passenger compar tment.
The alarm is tri
ggered if anyone breaks a
window or moves inside the vehicle.
If you wish to leave a pet in the vehicle or a
window partially open, deactivate the interior
volumetric protection.


Self-protection function

The system detects the putting out of ser vice of
its components.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to put
the wires of the siren, the central control or the
batter
y out of ser vice.
Locking the vehicle with full
alarm
Activation
) Switch off the ignition and get out of the
vehicle. ) Lock or deadlock the vehicle using the locking button on the remote control.
The alarm is activated; the indicator lamp inbutton A
flashes once per second.
The exterior perimeter protection is activated,
5 seconds after the locking button on theremote control is pressed.
The interior volumetric protection is activated,
45 seconds a
fter the locking button on the remote control is pressed.

Deactivation
)
Unlock the vehicle using the unlockingbutton on the remote control.
The alarm is deactivated; the indicator lamp in button Agoes off.

Bonnet
Protects the components of the engine and provides access for checking levels.


Opening
)
Push the exterior safety catch B
to the leftand raise the bonnet.
)Unclip the bonnet stay C
from its housing,
holding it by its foam protection.)Fix the stay in the notch to hold the bonnetopen.
)
Take the stay out of the support notch.
)
Clip the stay in its housing.)
Lower the bonnet and release it at the endof its travel. )
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is fully
latched.
)Open the front left door.)Pull the interior release lever A , located at
the bottom of the door aperture.
The location of the interior release lever prevents opening of the bonnet while the front left door is closed.
When the engine is hot, handle the exterior safety catch and the stay with care.
Before doing anything under the bonnet,
switch off the Stop & Star t system toavoid any risk of injury resulting from anautomatic change to STA R T m o d e .

Closing
To avoid damaging the electric units, the use of a high pressure jet washunder the bonnet is strictly prohibited.

Running out of fuel
(Diesel)
If your vehicle is fitted with an HDI engine, the fuel system must be primed if you run out of
fuel.
This system consists of a priming pump and a
transparent pipe under the bonnet.
)Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of Diesel. )Open the bonnet. )Depending on version, unclip the cover togain access to the priming pump.)Squeeze and release the priming pump until resistance is felt (could be from thefirst application) and fuel appears in the
transparent pipe with the green connector.)Operate the star ter until the engine star ts. )Depending on version, put the cover back in position and clip it in place.)Close the bonnet.
If the engine does not star t at the first attempt, do not try again. Operate the priming pump again, thenthe starter.

Practical information

Battery

The battery is located under the bonnet.
To gain access to it: )open the bonnet using the interior release
lever, then the exterior safety catch,)secure the bonnet stay,)lift the plastic cover on the (+) terminal.
The presence of this label, in particular with the Stop & Start system, indicatesthe use of a 12 V lead-acid battery withspecial technology and specification;the involvement of a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop is essential when replacing or disconnecting thebattery. Failure to observe this recommendation may cause premature wear of thebattery.

After refitting the battery by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop,the Stop & Star t system will only be active after a continuous period of immobilisation of the vehicle, aperiod which depends on the climaticconditions and the state of charge of the battery (up to about 8 hours). Procedure for char
ging your battery when it is flat or for star ting the engine using another battery.
