Taking out the wheel
)Unscrew the yellow central bolt. )Raise the spare wheel towards you from
the rear.)Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
) Put the wheel back in its housing. )
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a few
turns then put it in place in the centre of the
wheel.) Tighten fully until the central bolt clicks to
retain the wheel correctly.
)
Put the box back in place in the centre of
the wheel and clip it. ) Put the polystyrene storage box back inplace. )
Refit the boot floor carpet by lightly
folding it in two (refer to the section
"Fittings -

Removing a wheel

List of operations
)Remove the bolt cover from each of the bolts using the tool 3(with alloy wheels
only). )Fit the security bolt socket 4 on thewheelbrace 1to slacken the security bolt(if your vehicle has them).)Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1only.
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does not block traffic: the ground must be level, stable and not slippery. Apply the parking brake, switch off theignition and engage first gear *
to lock the wheels. If necessary, place a chock under the wheel diagonally opposite the wheel tobe changed. It is imperative that you ensure that the occupants get out of the vehicle and wait where they are safe.Never go underneath a vehicle raisedusing a jack; use an axle stand.

)Place the jack 2 in contact with one of thetwo front Aor rear B
locations provided on
the underbody, whichever is closest to the
wheel to be changed. )Extend the jack 2until its base plate is in contact with the ground. Ensure that thecentreline of the jack base plate is directly below the location A or Bused.

Raise the vehicle until there is sufficientspace between the wheel and the ground
to admit the spare (not punctured) wheeleasily. ) Remove the bolts and store them in a clean
place.
) Remove the wheel.

Fitting a wheel
After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in the boot correctly, first remove the central cover. When using the "space-saver" typetemporary use spare wheel, do not exceed 50 mph (80 km/h).Have the tightening of the bolts and thepressure of the spare wheel checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop without delay. Have the punctured wheel repaired andreplace it on the vehicle as soon aspossible. Do not drive with more than one temporary use spare wheel fitted to the vehicle at one time.

Snow chains
In wintry conditions, snow chains improve traction as well as the behaviour of the vehicle when
braking.

The snow chains must be fitted only to the front wheels. They must never be fitted to "space-saver" type sparewheels.
Take account of the legislation in forcein your country on the use of snow chains and the maximum running speed authorised.


Avoid driving on roads that have been cleared of snow, to avoid damaging your vehicle's tyres and the roadsurface. It is recommended that before you leave, you practise fitting the snowchains on a level and dry surface.If your vehicle is fitted with alloy wheels,check that no par t of the chain or itsfixings is in contact with the wheel rim.

Advice on installation
)If you have to fit the chains during ajourney, stop the vehicle on a flat surface on the side of the road.)Apply the parking brake and position anywheel chocks to prevent movement of your
vehicle.)Fit the chains following the instructionsprovided by the manufacturer. )Move off gently and drive for a fewmoments, without exceeding 30 mph (50 km/h). )Stop your vehicle and check that the snow chains are correctly tightened.

Changing a bulb

Front lamps
The headlamps are fitted with polycarbonate glass with a protectivecoating:)do not clean them using a dry or abrasive cloth, nor with a detergent or solvent product,)
use a sponge and soapy water or apH neutral product,)
when using a high pressure washer on persistent marks, do not keep the lance directed towards thelamps or their edges for too long, so as not to damage their protectivecoating and seals.
Changing a bulb should only be doneafter the headlamp has been switched off for a few minutes (risk of seriousburns). - do not touch the bulb directly with your fingers, use a lint-free cloth.It is imperative to use only anti-ultraviolet (UV) type bulbs to avoid damaging the headlamp.
Always replace a failed bulb with a new bulb with the same type andspecification.

Changing direction indicator bulbs
)Turn the bulb holder a quar ter of a turn and extract it. )Pull out the bulb and change it.
To r e f i t , c a r ry out these operations in reverse order.
Changing dipped beam headlamp bulbs
)Remove the protective cover by pulling the
tab. )Disconnect the bulb connector. )Spread the springs to release the bulb.)Pull the bulb out and change it.
To r e f i t , c a r ry out these operations in reverse order.

Rapid flashing of the direction indicator warning lamp (right or left) indicates thefailure of a bulb on that side.
When refitting, close the protective cover carefully to preser ve the sealing
of the headlamp.

Amber coloured bulbs, such as thedirection indicators, must be replacedwith bulbs of identical specificationsand colour.
