Some indicators lights in the disp lay can turn
on in several colors.
A WARNING
- Failure to heed warning lights and other
important vehicle information may result
in serious personal injury or vehicle dam­
age .
- Whenever stalled or stopped for repair,
move the vehicle a safe distance off the
road, stop the engine, and turn on the
emergency flasher¢ page 46 .
- The engine compartment of any motor
vehicle is a potentially hazardous area .
Before you check anything in the engine
compartment, stop the engine and let it
cool down. Always exercise extreme cau­
t ion when work ing under the hood

Overview
Some indicator lights turn on briefly to check
the function of that system when yo u switch
the ign ition on. These systems are marked
with an./ in the follow ing tables . If one of
these ind icator lights does not turn on, there
is a malfunction in that system .

road surface is icy or not. Keep in mind
that road surfaces, especially bridges
and overpasses, could be ice cove red and
slippery even at an outside temperatu re

You can centrally lock and unlock your vehicle
and start the engine with the master key with
remote control. A mechanical key is integrat­
ed in the remote control key

stant use.
It should only be used in an emer­
gency. Keep it in a safe place and do not carry it on your key ring .

If you lose a key, contact your authorized Audi

If two peop le use one vehicle, it is recom­
mended that each person always uses "their
own" master key . When the ignition is switch­
ed off or when the vehicle is locked, personal
convenience settings for the follow ing sys­
tems are stored and ass igned to the remote
maste r key.

T he stored settings are automatically recalled
when you unlock the vehicle, when you open the doors or when you switch the ignition on.
A WARNING
-- Do not leave your vehicle unattended. A l­
ways take your ignit ion key with you and
lock your vehicle. Entry by unauthorized
pe rsons could endanger you or result in
theft or damage the vehicle.
- Do not leave ch ildren unattended in the
veh icle, especially with access to vehicle
keys. Unguarded access to the keys pro­
vides children the opportun ity to s tart
the engine and/or ac tiva te vehicle sys­
tems such as the power windows, etc.
Unsupervised operation of any vehicle
system by children can result in serious
inj ury.
(D Tips
- The ope ration of the remote con trol key
can be temporarily disrupted by interfe r­
ence from transm itters in the vic inity of
the vehicle working in the same frequen­
cy range (e .g. a cell phone, radio equ ip­
ment).
- For security reasons, rep lacement keys
are only avai lable from Audi dealers.

There is a malfunc tion in the Sta rt-Stop-Sys­
tem . Dr ive the vehicle to an au thorized repair
fac ility for servicing as soon as possible to cor­
rect the malfunction.
Speed warning system
Introduction
The speed warning system helps you to stay
under a specified maximum speed .
The speed warning system warns you if you
are exceeding the maximum speed that you
have set . You will hear a warn ing tone when
your speed exceeds the stored value by ap­
p rox imately 3 mph (3 km/h) . An indicato r

turns off when the speed decreases below the
stored maximum speed.
Se tting a thresho ld is re commended if yo u
wo uld like to be reminded when you reach a
certain maximum speed. Situations where you may want to do so include driv ing in a country
with a general speed Limit or if there is a
specified max imum speed for winter tires .
@ Tips
Even though your vehicle is equipped with
a speed warning system, you should st ill watch the speedome
ter to ma ke s ure you
are not dr iving faster than the speed limit .
Setting the threshold
You can set, chang e and delet e the threshold
in the MMI.
• Select: I CAR I func tion button > Car sy stem s
contro l but to n > Driver a ssist > Speed warn­
ing .
You can set any threshold betwee n 20 mph
(30 km/h) and 150 mph (2 40 km/h). Se tting s
can each be adj usted in incremen ts of
5 mph
(10 km/h).
Cruise control
Switching on
The cruise con trol sys tem makes it possible to
drive at a constant speed starting at 20 mph (30 km/h) .

The speed is k ept constant via an engine out­
put adjustment or act ive brake intervention .
A WARNING
-Always pay attention to traffic even when
the cruise control is switched on . You are
always responsible for your speed and
the distance between your vehicle and other vehicles.
- For safety reasons, the cruise control
should not be used in the city, in stop­
and-go traff ic, on twisting roads and
when road conditions are poor (such as
ice, fog, grave l, heavy rain and hydro ­
planing) -risk of accident .
- Turn off the cruise control temporari ly
when entering turn lanes, highway exit lanes or in construction zones.
- Please note that inadvertently "rest ing "
yo ur foot on the accelerator peda l causes
the cruise control not to brake. This is
because the cruise control is overridden
by the driver's acce leration.
- If a brake system malfunction such as
overheating occurs when the cruise con­
trol system is sw itched on, the braking
function in the system may be switched
off. The other cruise control functions re­
main active as long as the indicator light
[~jlQ~i4 (US models) I ii (Canad ian mod­
els) is on.
The brake lights illuminate as soon as the brakes decelerate automat ically .
Changing speed
" To increase/dec rease the speed in incre­
ments , tap the lever in the
0 10 d irection

" To increase/decrease the speed quick ly,
hold the lever in the
0 10 direction until
the desired speed is displayed.
You can also press the accelerator pedal down
to increase your speed, e.g . if you want to
pass someone . The speed you saved earlier
will resume as soon as you release the accele r­
ator pedal.
If, however, you exceed your saved speed by
6 mph (10 km/h) for longer than S minutes,
the cruise contro l wi ll turn off temporari ly.
The green symbol

The saved speed remains the same .
Presetting your speed
You can preset your desired speed while the
vehicle is not moving .
" Switch on the ignition.
" Pull lever into posit ion

" Press the lever in the 0 or 0 direction to
increase or decrease your speed .
" Release the lever to save that speed.
This function makes it possible, for example,
to save the speed you want before dr iving on
the h ighway. Once on the highway, act ivate
the cru ise con trol by pulling the lever toward
(D .
