Checks
Coolant level
The coolant level should be closeto the "MA X" mark but should never exceed it.When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is regulated by the fan. This can operate with the ignition off.
On vehicles which are fitted with a par ticle
emission filter, the fan may operate after the vehicle has been switched off, even if the engine is cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is pressurised,
wait at least one hour after switching off
the engine before carrying out any work.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap
b
y two turns to allow the pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped, remove the
cap and top up the level.
Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.
Fluid specifi cation
The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.
Fluid specifi cation
For optimum cleaning and to avoid freezing,
this fluid must not be topped up with or
replaced with plain water.
Screenwash and headlamp
wash fluid
In the case of vehicles fitted with
headlamp washers, the low fluid level is indicated by an audible signal anda message in the instrument panelscreen.
Top up the reser voir when you next stop the
vehicle.

Checks
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil or fluids with the skin. Most of these fluids are harmful to
health or indeed very corrosive.
Do not discard used oil or fluids intosewers or onto the ground. Take used oil to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop (France) or to an authorised waste disposal site.
Used products

ithout delay.
Diesel additive level
(Diesel engine with particle
emission filter)
A low additive level is indicated by illumination
of the ser vice warning lamp, accompanied by an audible warning and a message in
the instrument panel screen.

Checks
12 V battery
The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check that the terminals are clean
and correctly tightened, particularly in summer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery, refer to the "Practical information" section for details of the precautions to be
taken before disconnecting the battery and following its reconnection.
Refer to the servicing booklet for
details of the replacement inter vals
for these components.
Dependin
g on the environment(e.g. dusty atmosphere) and the use of the
vehicle (e.g. city driving), replace them twiceas often if necessary (refer to the "Engines"section).
A clogged passenger compar tment filter mayhave an adverse effect on the per formanceof the air conditioning system and generate undesirable odours.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Replace the oil filter each time theengine oil is changed.
Refer to the servicing booklet for
details of the replacement inter val
for this component.
Oil filter The presence of this label, in particular with
the Stop & Star t system, indicates the use of a specific 12 V lead-acid battery with special
technology and specification, for which theinvolvement of a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop is required when replacing
or disconnecting the battery.Failure to obser ve this recommendation may
shor ten the life of the battery.
Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the ser vicing booklet and according to your engine.
Other wise, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Before doing anything under the bonnet, switch off the ignition (Ready
lamp off) to avoid any risk of injury resulting fromautomatic operation of the engine.

Checks
For information on checking brake
disc wear, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
Brake disc wear Electric parking brake
This system does not require anyroutine servicing. However, in the event of a problem, have the systemchecked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
For more information, see "Driving - Electric parking brake - § Operating faults".
Only use products recommended by PEUGEOT or products of equivalent quality and specification. In order to optimise the operationof units as impor tant as the braking system, PEUGEOT selects and offers very specific products.
To avoid damaging the electrical units, the use of a high pressure washer in the engine compar tment is strictly prohibited.

The GTW and towed load values indicated are valid up to a maximum altitude of 1 000 metres; the towed load mentioned must be reduced by 10 % for
each additional 1 000 metres of altitude.
The speed of a towing vehicle must not exceed 60 mph (10 0 km/h) (comply with the legislation in force in your country).
High ambient temperatures may result in a reduction in the performance of the vehicle to protect the engine; if the ambient temperature is above 37 °C,
limit the towed load.
* The kerb wei
ght is equal to the unladen weight + driver (75 kg).
**
The weight of the braked trailer can be increased, within the GTW limit, if the GV W of the towing vehicle is reduced by an equal amount; warning,
towing using a lightly loaded towing vehicle may have an adverse effect on its road holding.

QUESTIONANSWERSOLUTION
With the engine off, the system switches off after a few minutes of use. When the en
gine is switched off, the system's operating time depends on
the battery charge.
The switch-off is normal: the s
ystem switches to economy mode and
switches off to prevent discharging of the vehicle's battery.
Start the vehicle's engine to increase the batterycharge.
Pla
yback of my USB memory stick starts only
after a very long wait (around 2 to 3 minutes). Some fi les supplied with the memor
y stick may greatly slow down access
to reading the memory stick (multiplication by 10 of the catalogue time). Delete the fi les supplied with the memory stickand limit the number of sub-folders in the fi le structure on the memory stick.
When I connect m
yiPhone as telephone and
to the USB port at the
same time, I am unable
to play the music fi les. When the iPhone connects automaticall
y as a telephone, it forces the
streaming function. The streaming function takes the place of the USB
function which is then not useable. Disconnect and reconnect to the USB
port(the USB function takes priority over streaming).
