Hybrid system







Fan cooling of the high voltage battery
The high voltage battery has an air coolingsystem, comprising an air intake (located on
the rear shelf) and a fan (located behind the
boot trim).
This s
ystem does not work continuously,
but adapts the force of the fan cooling to the requirements of the battery.
Its operation can be heard at the rear, even if
the vehicle is stopped after a run.
If the air intake is blocked, the battery may
overheat, damaging the battery and causing a
loss of performance of the hybrid system.
For the best use of the high voltage battery, please follow these recommendations: - do not obstruct the air intakewith loose articles, otherwise, the battery may overheat, causinga loss of performance of the hybrid system ,- do not spill fluids, as this may causedamage to the battery.

Instruments and controls
Coolant temperature gauge
With the hybrid system active:


- in zone A
, the temperature is correct,

- in zone B, the temperature is too high; the central STOP
warning lamp comes on,accompanied by an audible signal and amessage in the instrument panel screen.You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait a few minutes before switching off theengine.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop.
After drivin
g for a few minutes, the temperatureand pressure in the cooling system increase.
To top up the level:
) wait for the engine to cool, )
unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the
pressure to drop,
) when the pressure has dropped, remove
the cap,) top up the level to the "MA X" mark.


On switching on the ignition or when driving, it
indicates the engine oil temperature.
With the needle in zone C
, the temperature is correct.
With the needle in zone D , the temperature is
too high.
Slow down to lower the oil temperature.

Be aware of the risk of burns whentopping up the cooling system. Do not fill above the maximum level (indicatedon the reservoir).

On entering the vehicle, if the interior temperature is much colder or warmer than the comfort value, there is noneed to change the value displayed in order to obtain the comfort required.The system corrects the differencein temperature automatically and asquickly as possible.

For maximum cooling or heating of thepassenger compartment, it is possibleto exceed the minimum value 14 or themaximum value 28.)
Turn control 2 or 3
to the left until "LO"is displayed or to the right until "HI"
is displayed. See "Front demistin

Press this button to equalise thecomfort value on the passenger's
side with that on the driver's side (mono-zone). The indicator lamp in the button comes on.

f you wish, you can change one of settings
provided by the system. The other functions will still be controlled automatically.) Pressing the "AUTO"
button returns the system to completely automatic operation.


Manual operation
5. Mono-zone / Dual-zone
The air conditioning is designed to operate effectively in all seasons,
with the windows closed.
6. Air conditioning On / Off
It allows you:
- in summer, to lower the temperature,
- in winter, above 3°C, to improve demistin
gperformance.


7. Maximum air conditioning
If you want to temporarily refresh theair in the passenger compartment,
press this button and "LO"isdisplayed.
With Stop & Start, when demisting has been switched on, the Diesel engine does not stop.Switchin
g on) Press the "A/C"button, the associated green indicator lamp comes on.The air conditioning does not operate when
the air flow control is set to off.
Switching off) Press the "A /C "
button again, the
associated green indicator lamp goes off.Switching off the air conditioning may result in
some discomfort (humidity, misting). To return to the previous settings, press the
button a
gain.

Driving advice


Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. Above
1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced by 10
% for every 1 000 metres of altitude.

Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.
Cooling
To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed. )
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed. The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the ambient
tem
perature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the STOPwarning lamp come on, stop the
vehicle and switch off the engine
as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a long
mountain type of descent, the use of enginebraking is recommended.


Tyres
)
Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the
recommended pressures.



Lighting
)
Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuinePEUGEOT towbar is used.

Checks
The coolant level should be closeto the "MA X" mark but should never exceed it.When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is regulated by the fan. This can operate with the ignition off.
On vehicles which are fitted with a par ticle
emission filter, the fan may operate after
the vehicle has been switched off, even if
the en
gine is cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is pressurised,
wait at least one hour after switching off theengine before carrying out any work.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap
b
y two turns to allow the pressure to drop. When
the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and
top up t
he level.

Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.


Fluid specifi cation

The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.


Fluid specifi cation

For optimum cleaning and to avoid freezing,
this fluid must not be topped up with or
replaced with plain water.
Screenwash and headlamp
wash fluid
In the case of vehicles fitted withheadlamp washers, the low fluid levelis indicated by an audible signal anda message in the instrument panelscreen.
Top up the reser voir when you next stop the
vehicle.
