and REQ/REL/RET radios only
with Uconnect™. For sales code
RBZ/RHB, RHR, RHP, RHW or
RB2 touch-screen radio iPod®/
USB/MP3 control feature, refer to
the separate RBZ/RHB, RHR, RHP,
RHW or RB2 User's Manual.
iPod®/USB/MP3 control is avail-
able only for versions/markets,
where provided with these radios.This feature allows an iPod® or exter-
nal USB device to be plugged into the
USB port, located in the glove com-
partment.
iPod® control supports Mini, 4G,
Photo, Nano, 5G iPod® and iPhone®
devices. Some iPod® software ver-
sions may not fully support the iPod®
control features. Please visit Apple’s
website for software updates.
NOTE:
 If the radio has a USB port, refer
to the appropriate Uconnect™
Multimedia radio User’s Manual
for iPod® or external USB de-
vice support capability.
 Connecting an iPod® or con- sumer electronic audio device to
the AUX port located in the ra-
dio faceplate, plays media, but
does not use the iPod® /MP3
control feature to control the
connected device.

Connecting The iPod® Or
External USB Device
Use the connection cable to connect
an iPod® or external USB device to
thevehicle's USB connector port
which is located in the glove compart-
ment.
NOTE:
The glove compartment will have a
position where the iPod® or con-
sumer electronic audio device
cable can be routed through with-
out damaging the cable when clos-
ing the lid. This allows routing of
the cable without damaging it
while closing the lid. If a cut out is
not available in the glove compart-
ment, route the cable away from
the lid latch and in a place that will allow the lid to close without
damaging the cable.
Once the audio device is connected
and synchronized to the
vehicle's
iPod®/USB/MP3 control system
(iPod® or external USB device may
take a few minutes to connect), the
audio device starts charging and is
ready for use by pressing radio
switches, as described below.
NOTE:
If the audio device battery is com-
pletely discharged, it may not
communicate with the iPod®/
USB/MP3 control system until a
minimum charge is attained.
Leaving the audio device con-
nected to the iPod®/USB/MP3
control system may charge it to the
required level.
Using This Feature
By using iPod cable or external USB
device to connect to USB port:
 The audio device can be played on the vehicle’s sound system, pr ovid-
ing metadata (artist, track title, al-
bum, etc.) information on the radio
display.  The audio device can be controlled
using the radio buttons to Play,
Browse, and List the iPod® con-
tents.
 The audio device battery charges when plugged into the USB/AUX
connector (if supported by the spe-
cific audio device)
Controlling The iPod® Or
External USB Device Using
Radio Buttons
To get into the iPod®/USB/MP3 con-
trol mode and access a connected au-
dio device, either press the “AUX”
button on the radio faceplate or press
the VR button and say "USB" or
"Switch to USB". Once in the iPod®/
USB/MP3 control mode, audio tracks
(if available from audio device) start
playing over the vehicle's audiosys-
tem.
Play Mode
When switched to iPod®/USB/MP3
control mode, the iPod® or external
USB device automatically starts Play
mode. In Play mode, the following
buttons on the radio faceplate may be

Bluetooth Streaming Audio
(BTSA)
Music can be streamed from your cel-
lular phone to the Uconnect™ phone
system.
Controlling BTSA Using Radio
Buttons
To get into the BTSA mode, press
either “AUX” button on the radio or
press the VR button and say
“Bluetooth Streaming Audio”.
Play Mode
When switched to BTSA mode, some
audio devices can start playing music
over the vehicle’s audio system, but
some devices require the music to be
initiated on the device first, then it
will get streamed to the Uconnect™
phone system. Seven devices can be
paired to the Uconnect™ phone sys-
tem, but just one can be selected and
played.Selecting Different Audio Device
1. Press PHONE button to begin.
2. After the "Ready" prompt and the
following beep, say "Setup", then
"Select Audio Devices".
3. Say the name of the audio device
or ask the Uconnect™ phone system
to list audio devices.
Next Track
Use the SEEK UP button, or press the
VR button on the radio and say “Next
Track” to jump to the next track mu-
sic on your cellular phone.
Previous Track
Use the SEEK DOWN button, or press
the VR button on the radio and say
“Previous Track” to jump to the pre-
vious track music on your cellular
phone.
Browse
Browsing is not available on a BTSA
device. Only the current song that is
playing will display info.UCONNECT™

Getting Started

Screen(s) located in the over-
head console: Unfold the over-
head LCD screen(s) by pushing the
button on the overhead console be-
hind the screen(s).
 Cycle the ignition to the ON or ACC position.

 Turn on the VES™ player (forversions/markets, where provided
on Dual Screen System) by pushing
the Power button, located on the far
left, or by pressing the button on
the Remote Control.
 When the Video Screen(s) are open and a DVD is inserted into the
VES™ player, the screen(s) turn(s)
on automatically, the headphone
transmitters turn on and playback
begins.
 For Dual Video Screen System, Channel 1 on the Remote Control
and Headphones refers to Screen 1
(second row) and Channel 2 on the
Remote Control and Headphones
refers to Screen 2 (third row). Refer
to the Dual Video Screen section for
more information.
Play Video Games
Connect the video game console to the
Auxiliary RCA input jacks (1 set or 2
depending on vehicle) located on the
back of the center console or on left
side behind the second row seat. When connecting an external source
to the AUX input, be sure to follow the
standard color coding for the VES™
jacks:
Ensure the Remote Control and
Headphone switch is on Channel 1.
Using The Remote Control
1. Press the MODE button on the Re-
mote Control.
2. While looking at the video screen,
highlight VES AUX 1 or 2 (depending
which AUX input the gaming console
is plugged into), by either pressing
Up/Down/Left/Right buttons or byrepeatedly pressing the MODE but-
ton, then press ENTER on the Remote
Control.
Using The Touch-Screen Radio
Controls
1. Press the MENU hard-key on the
radio faceplate.
2. Touch the Rear VES soft-key to
display the Rear VES Controls. If a
channel list is displayed, press the
HIDE LIST soft-key to display the
Rear VES Controls screen.
3. Touch the 1 soft-key and then
touch either AUX 1 or AUX 2 in the
VES column (depending which AUX
input is used). To exit press the back
arrow soft-key at the top of the screen.

Station List Menu
When listening to Satellite audio,
pressing the remote control’s MENU
button displays a list of all available
channels. Navigate this list using the
remote control’s navigation buttons
(▲,▼) to find the desired station,
press the remote control’s ENTER
button to tune to that station. To jump
through the list more quickly, navi-
gate to the Page Up and Page Down
icons on the screen.
Disc Menu
When listening to a CD Audio or CD
Data disc, pressing the remote con-
trol’s MENU button displays a list of
all commands which control playback
of the disc. Using the options you can
activate or cancel Scan play and Ran-
dom play. Display Settings
When watching a video source (DVD
Video with the disc in Play mode, Aux
Video, etc.), pressing the remote con-
trol’s SETUP button activates the
Display Settings menu. These settings
control the appearance of the video on
the screen. The factory default set-
tings are already set for optimum
viewing, so there is no need to change
these settings under normal circum-
stances.
To change the settings, press the re-
mote control’s navigation buttons (▲,
▼) to select an item, then press the
remote control’s navigation buttons
(►, ◄) to change the value for the
currently selected item. To reset all
values back to the original settings, select the Default Settings menu op-
tion and press the remote control’s
ENTER button.
Disc Features control the remote DVD
player's (for versions/markets, where
provided) settings of DVD being
watched in the remote player.
Listening To Audio With The
Screen Closed
To listen to only audio portion of the
channel with the screen closed:
 Set the audio to the desired source
and channel.
 Close the video screen.
 To change the current audio mode, press the remote control’s MODE
button. This will automatically se-
lect the next available audio mode
without using the Mode Select
menu.
 When the screen is reopened, the video screen will automatically turn
back on and show the appropriate
display menu or media.
If the screen is closed and there is no
audio heard, verify that the head-
phones are turned on (the ON indica-
