Main instrument panel

Information display and menu controls
READ – access to the list of messages and
message confirmation.
Thumbwheel – browse among menus and
options in the list of functions.
RESET – reset the active function. Used in
certain cases to select/activate a function,
see the explanation under each respective
function.
The menus shown on the information displays
in the instrument panel are controlled with the
left lever. The menus shown depend on ignition
mode. Press READ to erase a message and
return to the menus.

When a warning, information or indicator sym-
bol comes on, a corresponding message
appears on the information display. An error
message is stored in a memory list until the
fault is rectified.Press READ to acknowledge and scroll among
the messages.

If a warning message appears while you are
using the trip computer, the message must
be read and confirmed by pressing READ
before the previous activity can be
resumed.

Introduction
The MY CAR feature provides access to
menus for controlling many of the vehicle's
functions.
Navigating among the menu selections is done
with several buttons in the center console or on
the steering wheel keypad.
Since it must be possible to control some of
these functions while driving, they have their
own direct buttons in the center console con-
trol panel. A maximum of 20 buttons are avail-
able.
Operation

Press MY CAR to access the My Car
menu.
Press OK/MENU to select a highlighted
selection or to store a certain function in
the system's memory.
Turn to navigate up/down among menu
selections.
Press EXIT briefly to go back one step in
the menu structure. A long press exits the
current menu system and returns you to
the main menu.
Steering wheel keypad
The keypad varies according to the vehicle's
equipment
Turn the thumb wheel to go up/down
among menu selections. Press the thumb
wheel to make a selection or store a func-
tion in the system's memory.
Press EXIT briefly to go back one step in
the menu structure. A long press exits the
current menu system and returns you to
the main menu.

The following is an example of a function that
can be found and set using the steering wheel
keypad:
1.
Press the MY CAR button.
2. Navigate to a menu, for example
Settings using the thumb wheel (1) and
press it to open a submenu.
3. Navigate to the desired submenu such as
Car settings.
4.
Navigate to
Lock settings and press the
thumb wheel to open another submenu.
5.
Navigate to
Doors unlock and press the
thumb wheel to open a submenu with alter-
natives that can be selected.
6. Use the thumb wheel to move to the
desired choice and press the thumb wheel
to put an X in the box.
7. Finish by exiting the menu system either
one step at a time with short presses on
EXIT (2) or hold down this button to exit the
menu system completely.
The OK/MENU (2), EXIT (4) and control (3) in
the center console can be used in the same
way.

Main menuThe vehicle's functions are displayed in the
main menu as 6 symbols (1) that lead to sub-
menus where various settings can be made. A
long press on EXIT displays the main menu.
The following symbols are displayed:
NAV – Volvo Navigation System*
RADIO
MEDIA – (CD player, USB, etc.)
TEL – BluetoothŸ hands-free
MY CAR – settings related to driving
and driver support
CAM – Park assist camera*
•Turn TUNE to scroll to a symbol and press
OK/MENU.
Shortcuts menusThere are a number of submenus under each
symbol. These submenus are described in their
respective sections.
All settings related to operating the vehicle are
found under MY CAR.
The
My S60 menu under MY CAR offers short-
cuts to several of the most commonly used
functions.
These shortcut menus vary depending on the
vehicle's specifications and options.
