Automatic Transmission Fluid
Inspectatspecified intervals. When
performing inspections, checkeach
component forsigns ofleakage. Ifyou
discover anyleakage, haveitrepaired bya
qualified technician immediately.
BallJoints andDust Covers
Check thesuspension andsteering linkage
ball joints forlooseness anddamage.
Check alldust covers fordeterioration and
damage. Replaceanydeteriorated or
damaged parts.Aqualified technician
should perform theseoperations.
Brake LinesandHoses
Visually inspectforproper installation.
Check forchafing, cracks,deterioration
and signs ofleakage. Replaceany
deteriorated ordamaged parts.Aqualified
technician shouldperform these
operations.
Brake Linings/Drums andBrake
Pads/Discs
Check thebrake linings (shoes) and
drums forscoring, burning, fluidleakage,
broken partsandexcessive wear.Check
the pads forexcessive wearandthediscs
for runout, excessive wearandfluid
leakage. Replaceanydeteriorated or
damaged parts.Aqualified technician
should perform theseoperations.
Cabin AirFilter
Clean orreplace atspecified intervals.
Driving inheavy traffic, ondirt roads orin
urban, desertordusty areasmayshorten
filter’s life.More frequent replacement may
be necessary.
Differential Oil
Inspectatspecified intervals. When
performing inspections, checkeach
component forsigns ofleakage. Ifyou
discover anyleakage, haveitrepaired bya
qualified technician immediately.

Inspect fortappet noiseandengine
vibration andadjust ifnecessary. A
qualified technician shouldperform this
operation.
Exhaust PipesandMountings
Visually inspecttheexhaust pipes,muffler
and hangers forcracks, deterioration and
damage. Starttheengine andlisten
carefully forany exhaust gasleakage.
Tighten connections orreplace partsas
necessary.
Fuel Lines andConnections,
Fuel Tank Band andFuel Tank
Vapor VentSystem Hoses
Visually inspectforcorrosion, damage,
cracks, andloose orleaking connections.
Tighten connections orreplace partsas
necessary.
Fuel Tank CapGasket
Visually inspectforcracks, deterioration
and damage andreplace ifnecessary.
Nuts andBolts onChassis and
Body
Re-tighten theseat-mounting boltsand
front/rear suspension memberretaining
bolts tospecified torque.
Radiator, Condenser and/or
Intercooler
Inspect fordebris, corrosion andsigns of
damage. Haveanyproblem repaired
immediately byaqualified technician.
SparkPlugs
Replace atspecified intervals. Installnew
plugs ofthe same typeasoriginally
equipped. Aqualified technician should
perform thisoperation.
Steering GearBox
Inspect forsigns ofleakage. Ifyou
discover anyleakage, haveitrepaired
immediately byaqualified technician.
Steering LinkageandBoots
With thevehicle stopped, checkfor
excessive freeplayinthe steering wheel.
Inspect thelinkage forbending and
damage andthedust boots for
deterioration, cracksanddamage. Replace
any damaged parts.Aqualified technician
should perform theseoperations.
TireRotation
Tires should berotated according tothe
instructions inthe
Owner’s Manual.When
rotating tires,check fordamage and
uneven wear.Replace ifnecessary.
