❏Change the engine oil and oil filter.Under no circumstances should
the oil change interval exceed 13,000 km or 6 months whichever
occurs first.*
❏Rotate tires, rotate at the first sign of irregular wear even if it occurs
prior to this service.
❏Lubricate the front drive shaft fitting. (All 4x4 models except 1500)
❏Inspect the brake linings; replace if necessary.
❏Inspect the front (4x4) and rear axle fluid; change if using your vehicle
for any of the following: police, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer
towing.
❏Inspect the CV joints.
❏Inspect the exhaust system.
❏Inspect the front suspension components, tie rod ends and boot seals;
replace if necessary.
❏Adjust the parking brake on vehicles equipped with four-wheel disc
brakes.
❏Replace the engine air filter.
❏Inspect the transfer case fluid. (4x4)
❏Replace the spark plugs on 3.7L and 5.7L engines.
❏Replace the top row of spark plugs on 4.7L engines.**
❏Replace the side row of spark plugs on 4.7L engines.**
❏Replace the ignition cables on 4.7L engines.
❏Inspect the PCV valve; replace if necessary.
* Oil changes that are prompted by the oil change indicator system prior to this
schedule maintenance interval can be recorded in the oil change log section.
** Vehicles built with the 4.7L engine are equipped with sixteen spark plugs, one
set is located on the top of the engine under the coils and the second set is
located on the side of the engine. The spark plugs located under the coils are a
standard plug and must be change every 78,000 kilometres. The spark plugs
located on the side of the engine are a premium plug and must be changed
every 156,000 kilometres.
