The outside mirrors are heated to
remove fog and frost. With the
ignition switch in the ON (II)
position, turn on the heaters by
pressing the button. The indicator in
the button comes on as a reminder.
Press the button again to turn the
heaters off. Pressing this button also
turns the rear window def ogger on
and off.To apply the parking brake, push the
pedal down with your f oot. To
release it, push on the pedal again.
The parking brake indicator on the
instrument panel should go out when
the parking brake is f ully released
(see page ).
If the outside temperature is below
41°F (5°C), the heated mirror
function will come on automatically
f or 10 minutes when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position.

The beverage holders f or the third
row seat passengers are in the
armrests on the rear side panels.
The multi-f unctional center seat has
a beverage holder on the back of the
seat-back.
To use the beverage holder, f old the
seat-back by pulling the seat-back
strap (see page ). Each rear sliding door has an
integrated sunshade. To use a
sunshade,holdthetabonthetop
and pull the sunshade all the way up.
Insert the holes on the sunshade into
the hooks on the window f rame. To
store the shade, unhook it, and let it
retract all the way down.

To open the sunglasses holder, push
then release the raised detent. It will
unlatch and swing down. To close it,
push it until it latches. Make sure the
holder is closed while you are driving.
The sunshades are intended f or use
only when the windows are f ully
closed. If a window is opened, the
shade can be blown of f its hooks. As
the shade automatically retracts, it
could hit and hurt anyone sitting too
close to the window.
Each side of the third row seat also
has an integrated sunshade. To use a
sunshade,holdthetabonthetop
and pull the sunshade all the way up.
Insert the hook on the tab into the
anchor on the window f rame. To
store the shade, unhook it, and let it
retract all the way down.

To use the sun visor, pull it down.
Whenusingthesunvisorforthe
side window, remove the support rod
f rom the clip, and swing it out.
The sunglasses holder uses a convex
mirror f or its bottom panel. You can
see all the vehicle passengers in this
mirror. To use the mirror, open the
sunglasses holder f ully, push it to the
f irst detent, and release it.
To switch back to the sunglasses
holder, close the conversation mirror
and then open the sunglasses holder.
Some larger styles of sunglasses
may not f it in the holder.
You may also store small items in
thisholder.Makesuretheyare
small enough to let the holder close
and latch, and that they are not
heavy enough to cause the holder to
pop open while driving.
Make sure you put the sun visor
back in place when you are getting
into or out of the vehicle.

When the indicator in the button is
on, air f rom the vehicle’s interior is
sent throughout the system again.
When the indicator is off, air is
brought in f rom the outside of the
vehicle (fresh air mode).
Thesystemshouldbeleftinfresh
air mode under almost all conditions.
Keeping the system in recirculation
mode, particularly with the A/C of f ,
can cause the windows to fog up.
Switch to recirculation mode when
driving through dusty or smoky
conditions, then return to fresh air
mode. The outside air intakes f or the
heating and cooling system are at
the base of the windshield. Keep this
area clear of leaves and other debris.
Turn the dial clockwise to increase
the fan speed and airflow. Turn the
dial counterclockwise to decrease
them.
Turning this dial clockwise increases
the temperature of the airflow.
This button turns the air
conditioning on and of f . The
indicatorinthebuttonisonwhen
the A/C is on.

vents at the base of the windshield. Airf low is divided between
the f loor vents and def roster vents at
the base of the windshield. Air f lows f rom the f loor
vents. When you select , the
system automatically switches to
f resh air mode.
Airf low is divided between
the vents in the dashboard and the
f loor vents. Air flows from the center
and corner vents in the dashboard. Use the mode control buttons to
select the vents air flows from. Some
air will f low f rom the dashboard
corner vents in all modes. Pushing this button also turns the
power mirror heaters on and of f . This button turns the rear window
def ogger on and of f (see page ). When you select , the system
automatically switches to f resh air
mode and turns on the A/C. For
f aster def rosting, manually set the
fanspeedtohigh.Youcanalso
increase airf low to the windshield by
closing the corner vents on the
dashboard.
When you turn of f by
pressing the button again, the
system returns to its former settings.
For your saf ety, make sure you have
a clear view through all the windows
bef ore driving.
When you select or ,
the system automatically switches to
Fresh Air mode and turns on the
A/C. In these modes, the A/C stays
on with the indicator off.
This button directs the main airflow
to the windshield for faster
def rosting. It also overrides any
mode selection you may have made.

Air conditioning places an extra load
on the engine. Watch the engine
coolant temperature gauge (see page). If it moves near the red mark,
turn of f the A/C until the gauge
reads normally.
Pressing the A/C button turns the
air conditioning ON and OFF. The
indicator in the button comes on
when the A/C is ON.
The heater uses engine coolant to
warm the air. If the engine is cold, it
will be several minutes bef ore you
f eel warm air coming f rom the
system. Select and fresh air mode.
Set the f an to the desired speed.
Adjust the warmth of the air with
the temperature control dial.
The ventilation system draws in
outside air, circulates it through the
interior, then exhausts it through
vents near the rear side panels.
Set the temperature to the lower
limit.
Make sure the A/C is of f .
Select and fresh air mode.
Set the f an to the desired speed.
The system automatically turns on
the A/C and switches to
recirculation mode (see page to
use this setting). Air f lows f rom the
center and side vents in the
dashboard. Pressing the , the
MAX A/C button, or the mode
control button cancels MAX A/C,
but the A/C stays on.
Make sure the temperature is set
to the lower limit.
Select .
If the outside air is humid, select
recirculation mode. If the outside
air is dry, select f resh air mode.
Set the f an to the desired speed.you can
cool it down more rapidly by partially
opening the windows, turning on the
air conditioning, and setting the f an
