The power tailgate has an auto-
reverse f eature. If it meets
resistance while opening or closing,
it will beep three times and reverse
direction. However, the tailgate may
not reverse immediately. Always
make sure passengers and objects
are clear of the tailgate before
opening or closing it.Also check that passengers,
especially children, do not have their
hands on the edge of the tailgate or
on the tailgate sill. The auto reverse
featurestopsworkingwhenthe
tailgate is about to latch so the motor
can pull the tailgate shut.
If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected, goes dead, or the f use
is removed while the tailgate is f ully
open, the power tailgate needs to be
reset. After connecting the battery
or installing the f use, close the
tailgate f ully by hand.
The power tailgate may not open or
close under the these conditions:
Whenthetailgateortheroof is
covered with snow or ice. Do not install any accessories on the
tailgate. It may cause the tailgate to
malf unction. If there is snow or ice
on the tailgate, make sure to remove
it bef ore you operate the tailgate.
When the vehicle is swayed in a
strong wind. The vehicle is parked on a steep
hill. If you push the tailgate release
button inside the handle while the
tailgate is opening or closing, the
power tailgate f unction shuts OFF.
You need to open or close it the rest
of the way manually.
The tailgate has sensors on both
sides. Be caref ul not to damage them.
If the sensors are damaged, the
power tailgate does not f unction

If the power sliding door indicator
comesonandstayson,thereisa
problem in the system. Turn the
MAIN switch to OFF, and have the
system inspected by a dealer.
If there is a problem in the power
sliding door system, you will see a
‘‘CHECK LEFT SLIDING DOOR’’ or
‘‘CHECK RIGHT SLIDING DOOR’’
message on the multi-information
display (see page ). If this
message stays on, turn the MAIN
switch to OFF, and have the system
inspected by your dealer.
Each sliding door has a pinch sensor
on the f ront edge. Do not damage
this sensor, or the power sliding door
may not operate properly.
If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead while the
sliding door is open, the power
sliding door system needs to be reset.
Af ter reconnecting the battery, close
the sliding door completely by hand.
If the power sliding door is closed,
the system will reset itself
automatically once the battery has
been reconnected.
If the power sliding door does not
operate properly af ter resetting,
have your vehicle checked by your
dealer.

Follow these precautions when using
the seat heaters:If the engine is lef t idling f or an
extended period, do not use the
seat heaters, even on the LO
setting. It can weaken the battery,
causing hard starting. Donotusetheseatheaterinthe
HI setting f or an extended period,
because it draws large amounts of
current f rom battery.
Both f ront seats are equipped with
seat heaters. Because of the sensors
f or the side airbag cutof f system,
there is no heater in the passenger’s
seat-back. The ignition switch must
be in the ON (II) position to use the
heaters. To use the heaters, press the seat
heater switch. The indicator (amber)
in the switch will come on. There are
three settings in the heaters: HI, LO,
and OFF.
When you press the seat heater
switch once, the heater is set to HI.
Select LO by pressing the seat
heater switch again. To shut down
the heater, press the seats heater
switch until the indicators go of f . The heater runs continuously and
does not automatically turn of f
af ter a period of time.

Fail to press a memory button
within 5 seconds.
Readjust the seat position.
Readjusting the outside mirror
position.
All stored driving positions will be
lost if your vehicle’s battery goes
dead or is disconnected. Each memory button stores only one
driving position. Storing a new
position erases the previous setting
stored in that button’s memory. If
you want to add a new position while
retaining the current one, use the
other memory button. To cancel the storing procedure
af ter pressing the SET button, do
any of the f ollowing: Pressing the SET button again
within 5 seconds. To select a memorized position, do
this:
Make sure the shif t lever is in the
Park (P) position.
Press the desired memory button
(1 or 2) until you hear a beep.
The system will move the seat and
outside mirrors to the memorized
positions. The indicator in the
selected memory button will f lash
during movement. When the
adjustments are complete, you will
hear two beeps, and the indicator will
remain on. To stop the system’s automatic
adjustment, do any of these actions:
Adjust the outside mirrors. Shif t out of Park. Push any of the adjustment
switches f or the seat.
If desired, you can use the
adjustment switches to change the
positions of the seat or outside
mirrors af ter they are in their
memorized positions. If you change
the memorized position, the
indicator in the memory button will
go out. To keep this driving position
f or later use, you must store it in the
driving position memory. Press any button on the driver’s
door:SET,1,or2.

To set the time, press and release
the CLOCK button. The display
will change to the clock adjust
screen.
You can also set the time from the
setup menu.
Change the hours by pressing the H
(hour) button until the numbers
advance to the desired time. Change
the minutes by pressing the M
(minute) button until the numbers
advance to the desired time.
Press the CLOCK button again to
enter the set time.
Press the SETUP button to display
the setup menu. Turn the selector
knob to ‘‘CLOCK ADJUST’’ and
press the selector knob.
To set the time, press the CLOCK
button until you hear a beep. The
displayed time begins to blink. If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, you may
need to set the clock.

On all models except LXIf your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, or the
radio f use is removed, the audio
system will disabled itself . If this
happens, there are two methods to
make it work again. Turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position, press
the power/volume knob once. The
enter code screen will appear. Vehicle Specif ic Method Press
and hold the power/volume knob f or
a f ew seconds, the audio unit will
check the VIN inf ormation stored in
the vehicle. The audio system will
start activating if the VIN
informationstoredintheaudio
system and the vehicle match.
Security Code Method The enter
code screen will appear. Use the
preset buttons to enter the five-digit
code. The code is on the radio code
card included in your owner’s
manual kit. When it is entered
correctly, the radio will start playing. Youshouldhavereceivedacardthat
lists your audio system code number
and serial number. It is best to store
this card in a saf e place at home. In
addition, you should write the audio
system’s serial number in this owner’s
manual.
If you make a mistake entering the
code, do not start over; complete the
f ive-digit sequence, then enter the
correct code. You have ten tries to
enter the correct code. If you are
unsuccessful in ten attempts, you
must then leave the system on for 1
hour bef ore trying again.
If you cannot activate the audio
system, and lose the card, take the
vehicle to your dealer.

If it takes several pushes on the
button to operate the rear
entertainment system, have your
dealer replace the batteries as soon
as possible.
The rear control panel can be
detached f rom the ceiling unit and
used as a remote control. To remove
it f rom the ceiling unit, press the
release button. The control panel will
swing down partway. Pivot it down
f urther past the detent until it
detaches f rom the hinge. To reinstall
it, reverse the procedure.

Remove the battery. Install the new
battery in the earpiece as shown in
the diagram next to the battery slot.
Slide the cover back into place on the
earpiece, then press down on the
back edge to lock it in place.
Each headphone uses one AAA
battery. The battery is under the
cover on the lef t earpiece. To
remove the cover, insert a coin in the
slot and twist it slightly to pry the
cover away f rom the earpiece. Pull
the cover outward, and pivot it out of
the way.
