PRACTICAL INFORMATION
CHANGING A WHEEL CHANGING
The tools are stored in the storage com-
partment in the boot right-hand trim.
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
turn button A to the left,
remove the cover B ,
r e m o v e t h e fi x i n g b a n d C and take
out the tool bag D containing the
tools,
take the jack E in your hand and
r e m o v e i t f r o m i t s fi x i n g p o s i t i o n .
1. Wheelbrace.
Used to remove the wheel trim and t h e w h e e l fi x i n g b o l t s .

When changing a wheel, ensure
that the four wheels are of identi-
c a l s p e c i fi c a t i o n a n d b r a n d .
When storing, take care to se-
cure the tool bag

When removing the wheel , remove
t h e t r i m fi r s t u s i n g t h e h a n d l e 3 , pulling
at the notch.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e t r i m
starting by placing its notch F (indicated
on the back of the trim) opposite the
valve G and press on its outer edge
with the palm of your hand.

Direction indicators (1) Coloured bulbs must be re-
placed with bulbs of identical
s p e c i fi c a t i o n a n d c o l o u r .
Turn the bulb holder A to the left
and remove it.
Pull the bulb and change it.

When you change a bulb on the left-

When you change a bulb on the right-
hand side:
Remove the screenwash reservoir
fi x i n g C and move the reservoir to-
wards the rear.
R e m o v e t h e c o o l a n t r e s e r v o i r fi x i n g
nut D .
Remove the clip E and raise the re-
servoir moving it towards the front.

Push the repeater A towards the
rear and detach it.
Unclip the repeater.
Disconnect the repeater connector
and change the repeater.

reverse order.
To obtain repeaters, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Changing integrated direction
indicator side repeaters
Remove the protective cover B by
pulling it towards the front.
Changing foglamp bulbs (5)
Remove the three screws C then
pull the lamp holder towards you.
Disconnect the connector D .
Turn the bulb E to the left and re-
move it.

The battery A is located under the bon-
net on the left.
To gain access to it:
open the bonnet using the interior
r e l e a s e l e v e r , t h e n t h e e x t e r i o r s a f e -
ty catch,
secure the bonnet stay.
BATTER BATTERY
Access to the battery
Connect the red cable to the posi-
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e fl a t b a t t e r y A ,
then to the positive terminal (+) of
the slave battery B .
Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative termi-
nal (-) of the slave battery B .
Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to an earth point C on
the broken down vehicle, as far as
p o s s i b l e f r o m t h e b a t t e r y ( f o r e x a m -
ple, right-hand engine mounting).
Start the engine of the assisting ve-
hicle.
Operate the starter, let the engine run.
Wait until the engine returns to idle
and disconnect the cables.
Raise the front of the cover 1 to re-
lease the three clips 2 .
Then pull the cover 1 towards you
to release the clip 3 and remove the
cover.
Check the electrolyte level regu-
larly. If necessary, top up the
level with distilled water.

Removing a front or rear wiper
blade
Raise the corresponding wiper arm.
Remove the wiper blade, sliding it
towards the outside.
Fitting a front or rear wiper
blade
A t t h e f r o n t , c h e c k t h e s i z e o f t h e
wiper blade as the shorter blade is
fi t t e d o n t h e r i g h t - h a n d s i d e o f t h e
vehicle.
Put the corresponding new wiper
b l a d e i n p l a c e a n d fi x i t .
Fold down the wiper arm carefully.

TOWING TOWING
Access to the tools Having your vehicle towed
on a flatbed
Below the front bumper, install the
towing system on the towing eye 1 .
The towing eye and the tools are stored
in the storage compartment in the right-
hand boot trim.
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
turn button A to the left,
remove the cover B ,
r e m o v e t h e fi x i n g b a n d C and take
out the tool bag D containing the
tools,
take the towing eye and the tools re-
quired out of the tool bag. Place the gear lever in neutral.
Always have the vehicle towed
o n a fl a t b e d .
Never have the vehicle towed
with the four wheels on the
ground, this could damage the
transmission.
The vehicle must not be towed
with the front or rear wheels on
the ground even if it is in front
"2WD" (2 wheel drive) mode. Towing another vehicle
On the rear bumper, remove the
cover by pulling at the bottom using
the jack handle 2 .
Screw in the towing eye fully using
the wheelbrace 3 .
Install the towbar.
S w i t c h o n t h e h a z a r d w a r n i n g l a m p s
on the towed vehicle.
When being towed with the en-
gine off, there is no longer any
braking or steering assistance.

Driving advice T h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d o n a l o n g
slope depends on the gradient and the
outside temperature.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Side wind
Take into account the increased
sensitivity to side wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
To lower the engine speed, reduce
your speed. Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking
distance.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the tow-
ing vehicle and of the trailer, observ-
ing the recommended pressures.
Lighting
Check the lighting and signalling on
the trailer.
If this message is dis-
played, stop your ve-
hicle as soon as it is
safe to do so.

slowly, wait for the engine to cool before
topping up the level, if necessary.
I f t h e m e s s a g e fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , c o n t a c t
a PEUGEOT dealer without delay.
Opening of the lower tailgate is
prohibited if a towbar is being
used.
We recommend the use of genu-
ine PEUGEOT towbars and their
harnesses that have been tested
and approved from the design
stage of your vehicle and that the
fi t t i n g o f t h e t o w b a r i s e n t r u s t e d
to a PEUGEOT dealer.
I f t h e t o w b a r i s n o t fi t t e d b y a
PEUGEOT dealer, it is impera-
t i v e t h a t i t i s fi t t e d u s i n g t h e
electrical pre-equipment located
at the rear of the vehicle and in
accordance with the manufac-
turer's instructions.
Driving with a trailer subjects the
t o w i n g v e h i c l e t o m o r e s i g n i fi -
cant stress and its driver must
be particularly careful.
Your vehicle is primarily designed for
transporting people and luggage, but it
may also be used for towing a trailer.
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest items are as close
a s p o s s i b l e t o t h e a x l e a n d t h e n o s e
w e i g h t a p p r o a c h e s t h e m a x i m u m
p e r m i t t e d w i t h o u t e x c e e d i n g i t .
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. Above
1 0 0 0 m e t r e s , t h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g
load must be reduced by 10 % of the
GTW and so on for every 1 000 metres
of altitude.

details of the weights and towing loads
which apply to your vehicle.
