The warning lamps may come on
c o n t i n u o u s l y ( fi x e d ) o r fl a s h .
Certain warning lamps may come
on in two different modes. Only by
relating the type of lighting to the
operating status of the vehicle can
it be ascertained whether the situ-
ation is normal or whether a fault
has occurred.
INDICATOR AND WARNING LAMPS
Visual indicators informing the driver
that a system is in operation (operation
or deactivation indicator lamps) or of the
occurrence of a fault (warning lamp). Associated warnings
The switching on of certain warning lamps
may be accompanied by an audible sig-
nal and a message on the multifunction
screen.
When the ignition is switched on
Certain warning lamps come on for a
few seconds when the vehicle's ignition
is switched on.
When the engine is started, these same
warning lamps should switch off.
If they remain on, before moving off,
refer to the information on the warning
lamp concerned.

Press and hold button 1 for two seconds

Then, each press of button 1 scrolls
through the various data in the following
order:
- language of information displayed,
- hours (12 then 24 hour mode),
- minutes,
- year,
- month,
- day,
- unit of temperature (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit).
Pressing button 2 a l l o w s m o d i fi c a t i o n
of the data selected. Press and hold for
rapid advance (return to start after the
last possible value).
After 7 seconds with no action, the main
d i s p l a y r e t u r n s ; t h e m o d i fi e d d a t a a r e
now recorded.
Note: Pressing button 2 b r i e fl y d i s p l a y s
the ambient temperature for a few sec-
onds.
When the ambient temperature is be-
tween -3° and 3 °C, the ambient tem-
perature display on the screen takes
priority over the clock display.
This displays the following information:
- time,
- date,
- a m b i e n t t e m p e r a t u r e * ( t h i s fl a s h e s
when it is between -3 and 3 °C),
- audio system information,
- a door check (e.g.: ''left front door open''),
- warning messages (e.g. ''remote c o n t r o l b a t t e r y fl a t ' ' ) o r i n f o r m a t i o n
messages (e.g. ''economy mode
active''), displayed temporarily.

This enables the following information
to be displayed:
- time,
- date,
- a m b i e n t t e m p e r a t u r e * ( t h i s fl a s h e s when it is between -3 and 3 °C),
- status of the doors. The display shows you, by means of a graphic,
whether a door is open,
- warning messages (e.g. ''battery charge fault'') or information mes-
sages (e.g. "fuel level low''), dis-
played temporarily, can be cleared
by pressing button 1 or 2 ,
- trip computer. Setting the parameters
Press button
1 for two seconds to access

Then, individual presses on button 1
allow you to scroll through the various
data in the following sequence:
- language in which the information is displayed,
- unit of distance (kms or miles),
- unit of temperature (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit),
- time format (12 then 24 hour mode),
- hour,
- minutes,
- year,
- month,
- day.
Pressing button 2 allows you to change
the information selected. Maintain the
pressure for rapid scrolling.
After 7 seconds without operation, the
screen returns to the normal display
a n d t h e m o d i fi e d d a t a i s r e c o r d e d .

outside temperature for a few seconds.
When the ambient temperature is be-

MANUAL AIR CONDITIONING
The air conditioning system can only operate when the engine is running.
1. Temperature adjustment
Turn the dial from blue (cold) to red
(hot) to adjust the temperature to
suit your requirements.

These settings are recommended for
cold climates. Central and side vents.
This setting is recommended for hot cli-
mates.
Move the manual control
to the left to return to the
" E x t e r i o r a i r i n t a k e " p o s i t i o n .
The intake of exterior air prevents the
formation of condensation on the wind-
screen and side windows.
The recirculation of interior air prevents
exterior odours and smoke from enter-
ing the passenger compartment.
Used simultaneously with the air condi-
tioning, the air recirculation improves its
performance.
Used in a damp climate, the air recircu-
lation may cause condensation to form
on the windows.
Return to exterior air intake mode as soon
as possible to avoid deterioration of the
air quality and prevent condensation.
Move the manual control to
t h e r i g h t t o t h e " I n t e r i o r a i r
r e c i r c u l a t i o n " p o s i t i o n .
Turn the dial from position 1
to position 4 to obtain an
a i r fl o w s u f fi c i e n t t o e n s u r e
your comfort.
I f y o u p l a c e t h e a i r fl o w c o n t r o l i n p o s i -
tion OFF (deactivation of the system),
the temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. How-
e v e r , a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e
movement of the vehicle, can still be
felt.

The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit.
3. Automatic visibility programme
The automatic comfort programme may
n o t b e s u f fi c i e n t t o q u i c k l y d e m i s t o r d e -
frost the windscreen and side windows
(humidity, several passengers, ice...).
This system is designed to operate ef-
fectively in all seasons, with the win-
dows closed.
When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold air, the
a i r fl o w w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s o p t i m u m l e v e l
gradually.
In cold weather, it favours the distribution
of warm air to the windscreen, the side
windows and the footwells only.
The air conditioning can only operate with the engine ru
nning.
Press the "AUTO" button.
The "AUTO" symbol is dis-
played.
Press the arrows 1 (up and
down) to change this value.
In this case, select the auto-
matic visibility programme.
We recommend that you use this mode:
it provides optimised automatic con-
trol of all of the functions, passenger
c o m p a r t m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w , a i r
distribution and air recirculation, in ac-
cordance with the comfort value that
you have selected. The system automatically controls the
a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r
intake and provides optimum distribu-
tion of the ventilation to the windscreen
and side windows.
To exit this programme, press the
"AUTO" button again.
A setting around 21 provides an opti-
mum level of comfort. Depending on
your requirements, a setting between
18 and 24 is usual.
On entering the vehicle, if the interior
temperature is much colder or warmer
than the comfort value, there is no need
to alter the value displayed in order to
obtain the required level of comfort. The
system corrects the temperature differ-
ence automatically and as quickly as
possible.

Manual control
Depending on your requirements, you
can make a different selection from that
offered by the system by changing a
setting. The other functions will still be
controlled automatically.
Press the "AUTO" button to return
to fully automatic operation.

Deactivation of the system
Avoid prolonged operation in inte-
rior air recirculation mode (risk of
condensation and of deterioration
of the air quality).
Avoid driving for too long with the
air conditioning deactivated.
Press this button to switch
the air conditioning off. The
"ECO" symbol is displayed.
Press this button several
times in succession to direct
t h e a i r fl o w i n t u r n t o w a r d s :
Press the "-" button to
r e d u c e t h e a i r fl o w .
Press the "+" button
to increase the air
fl o w .
Press this button to recircu-
late the interior air. The air
recirculation symbol is dis-
played.
Press the "OFF" button.
This action deactivates all of the func-
tions of the air conditioning system.
The temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. However,
a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e m o v e m e n t
of the vehicle, can still be felt.
Press the "OFF" , "AUTO" or "visi-
bility" button again to reactivate the
system with the values which were
set before it was deactivated.
Switching the system off may result in
some discomfort (humidity, condensa-
tion).
Press the button again to return
to automatic operation of the air
c o n d i t i o n i n g . T h e s y m b o l " A/C " i s
displayed.
- the windscreen and side windows (demisting or defrosting),
- the windscreen, the side windows and the footwells,
- the footwells,
- the central vents, the side vents and the footwells,
- the central and side vents. Air recirculation prevents exterior odours
and smoke from entering the passenger
compartment.
Choose this position for rapid cooling of
the passenger compartment.
As soon as possible, press this button
again to permit the intake of exterior
air and prevent condensation.

WINDOW CONTROLS
System which opens or closes a window
manually or automatically. Electric windows
Press or pull the switch. The window
stops as soon as the switch is re-
leased.
One-touch electric windows
There are two methods of operation:
- manual mode
Press or pull the switch gently.
The window stops as soon as the
switch is released.
- automatic mode
Press or pull the switch fully. The
window opens or closes complete-
ly when the switch is released.
Pressing the switch again stops
the movement of the window.
REAR QUARTER WINDOWS
On the 3-door versions, system for ven-
tilation of the rear seats limiting the par-
tial opening of the window.
Opening
Tilt the lever outwards.
Push the window to open it.
Closing
Pull the lever to close the window.
Tilt the lever fully inwards to secure
the window in the closed position.

The electric window switches re-

In the AUTO position, the windscreen
wipers operate automatically and adapt
their speed to the intensity of the
rainfall .
Operating check
Activation
Activation of the function is accompa-
nied by a message on the multi-function
screen.
In the event of malfunction , the driver
is informed by an audible signal.
In the AUTO position, the windscreen
wiper will operate in intermittent mode.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the
system checked.
Do not cover the rain sensor located
on the windscreen behind the rear view
mirror.
When using an automatic car wash,
switch off the ignition or check that the
wiper stalk is not in the AUTO position.
In winter, it is advisable to wait for the
windscreen to completely clear of ice
before operating the automatic rain
sensitive wipers.
W i n d s c r e e n w a s h
Pull the wiper stalk towards you. The
windscreen wash, then the windscreen
w i p e r s , o p e r a t e f o r a s p e c i fi e d t i m e .
R e a r s c r e e n w i p e r
Turn ring A t o t h e fi r s t n o t c h f o r i n t e r m i t -
tent wiping.
I f t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o f f , i t i s
necessary to reactivate the control
each time . To do this, move the stalk
to any position, then move it back to the
required position.
A u t o m a t i c r e a r s c r e e n w i p e r
When the windscreen wipers control is
activated and you engage reverse gear,
the rear screen wiper operates intermit-
tently.
R e a r s c r e e n w a s h
Turn ring A p a s t t h e fi r s t n o t c h ; t h e
screen wash then the wiper operate for
a fi x e d p e r i o d . If you use a bicycle carrier, con-
sult a PEUGEOT dealer to have
this function deactivated or install

It switches off when the vehicle is
locked.

is in the accessories position or
with the ignition on.
In this position, the courtesy
lamp comes on for approxi-
mately 30 seconds:
