CONTROLS AT A GLANCE
WARNING!
• In a collision, an unrestrained child, even a tiny baby, can become a projectileinside the vehicle. The force required to hold even an infant on your lap could
become so great that you could not hold the child, no matter how strong you are.
The child and others could be badly injured. Any child riding in your vehicle should
be in a proper restraint for the child's size.
• Rearward-facing child seats must NEVERbe used in the front seat of a vehicle with a
front passenger airbag. An airbag deployment could cause severe injury or death to
infants in this position.
Installing The LATCH-Compatible Child Restraint System
• Your vehicle's second row passenger seats are equipped with the child restraint
anchorage system called LATCH, which stands for Lower Anchors and Tether for
CHildren. LATCH child restraint anchorage systems are installed at all three rear
seating positions.
• Both rear outboard seating positions and the rear center seating position have lower anchors and top tether anchors.
• Child seats with flexible or fixed rigid attachments can be installed in all rear seating positions. Child seats can be installed using the LATCHsystem in either or both
outboard seating positions or the center po sition, but not all three at the same time. If
a child seat is installed in an outboard seating position using the lower anchors, then
the vehicle seatbelt must be used for the center position.
• Never install LATCH-compatible child seats such that two seats share a common lower
anchorage.
• The rear seat lower anchorages are roundbars, located at the rear of the seat cushion
where it meets the seatback. They are just
visible when you lean into the rear seat to
install the child restr aint. You willeasilyfeel
them if you run your finger along the
intersection of the seatback and seat
cushion surfaces.
• In addition, there are tether strap anchorages behind each rear seating position located in the panel between the rear seat back and the rear window. These tether
strap anchorages are under a plastic cover.
• Loosen the adjusters on the lower straps and tether straps so that you can attach the hook or connector to the lower and tether anchoragesmore easily.
• Attach the lower hooks or connectors over the top of the seat cover material.

• We recommend you do not continue driving if the charging system light is on. Have thevehicle serviced immediately.
- Oil Pressure Warning Light
• This light indicates low engine oil pressure. If the light turns on while driving, stop thevehicle and shut off the engine as soon as possible. A chime will sound for four
minutes when this light turns on.
• We recommend you do not operate the vehicle or engine damage will occur. Have the vehicle serviced immediately.
- Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) Light
• This light monitors the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).
• If the light is not on during starting, stays on, or turns on while driving, we recommendyou do not operate the vehicle. Hav e the vehicle serviced immediately.
- Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Light
• This light informs you of a problem with the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system.
• If a problem is detected, the light will come on while the engine is running. Cycle the
ignition when the vehicle has completely stopped and the shift lever is placed in the
PARK position; the light should turn off.
• If the light remains lit with the engine running, your vehicle will usually be drivable; however, see an authorized dealer for service as soon as possible. If the light is
flashing when the engine is running, immedi ate service is required and you may
experience reduced performance, an elevat ed/rough idle or engine stall and your
vehicle may require towing. We recommend you do not operate the vehicle. Have the
vehicle serviced immediately.
- Airbag Warning Light
• If the light is not on during starting, stays on, or turns on while driving, we recommend you do not operate the vehicle. Hav e the vehicle serviced immediately.
tCASE Message
• If the tCASE message appears after engine start up, or during driving, it means the
AWD system is not functioning properly. We recommend you do not operate the
vehicle. Have the vehicle serviced immediately.
SERVICE AWD SYSTEM Message
• If the SERVICE AWD SYSTEM warning message appears after engine start up, or during
driving, it means the AWD system is not functioning properly. We recommend you do
not operate the vehicle. Have the vehicle serviced immediately.
Fuel Cap/Loose Gas Cap Message
• If a “gas cap” message (shown as gASCAP) appears, tighten the gas cap until a
“clicking” sound is heard.
• Press the odometer reset button to turn the message off.

FREEING A STUCK VEHICLE
• If your vehicle becomes stuck in mud, sand or snow, it can often be moved by arocking motion. Turn your steering wheel right and left to clear the area around the
front wheels. Then, move the shift lever back and forth between REVERSE and 1st gear.
Using minimal accelerator pedal pressure to maintain the rocking motion, without
spinning the wheels, is most effective.
NOTE: If your vehicle is equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) or Traction
Control
, turn the system off before attempting to “rock” the vehicle.
WARNING!
Fast spinning tires can be dangerous. Forces generated by excessive wheel speeds
may cause tire damage or failure. A tire could explode and injure someone. Do not
spin your vehicle's wheels faster than 30 mph (48 km/h) when you are stuck. Do not
let anyone near a spinning wheel, no matter what the speed.
CAUTION!
• When “rocking” a stuck vehicle by moving between 1st and REVERSE, do not spin the wheels faster than 15 mph (24 km/h), or drivetrain damage may result.
• Revving the engine or s pinning the wheels too fast ma y lead to transmission
overheating and failure. It can also damage the tires. Do not spin the wheels above
30 mph (48 km/h) while in gear (no transmission shifting occurring).
EVENT DATA RECORDER (EDR)
• In the event of an accident, your vehicle is designed to record up to five seconds of
specific vehicle data parameters (see list below) in an event data recorder prior to the
moment of airbag deployment, or ne ar deployment (if applicable), and up to a quarter
second of either high-speed deceleration data or change in velocity during and/or
after airbag deployment or ne ar-deployment. EDR data is ONLY recorded if an airbag
deploys, or nearly deploys, and is otherwise unavailable.
NOTE:
• A near-deployment event occurs when the airbag sensor detects severe vehicle
deceleration usually indicative of a crash, but not severe enough to warrant airbag
deployment.
• Under certain circumstances, EDR data ma y not be recorded (e.g., loss of battery
power).

• In conjunction with other data gathered during a complete accident investigation, theelectronic data may be used by Chrysler Group LLC and others to learn more about the
possible causes of crashes and associa ted injuries in order to assess and improve
vehicle performance. In addition to crash i nvestigations initiated by Chrysler Group
LLC, such investigations may be requested by customers, insurance carriers,
government officials, and professional crash researchers, such as those associated
with universities, and with hospital and insurance organizations.
• In the event that an investigation is undertaken by Chrysler Group LLC (regardless of initiative), the company or its de signated representative will first obtain permission of
the appropriate custodial entity for the vehicle (usually the vehicle owner or lessee)
before accessing the electronic data stored, unless ordered to image the data by a
court with legal jurisdiction (i.e., pursuant to a warrant). A copy of the data will be
provided to the custodial entity upon request. General data that does not identify
particular vehicles or crashes may be released for incorporation in aggregate crash
databases, such as those maintained by the U.S. government and various states. Data
of a potentially sensitive nature, such as would identify a particular driver, vehicle, or
crash, will be treated confidentially. Confidential data will not be disclosed by Chrysler
Group LLC to any third party except when:
• Used for research purposes, such as to match data with a particular crash record in an aggregate database, provided c onfidentiality of personal data is thereafter
preserved.
• Used in defense of litigation involvin g a Chrysler Group LLC product.
• Requested by police under a legal warrant.
• Otherwise required by law.
Data parameters that are recorded:
• Diagnostic trouble code(s) and warning light st atus for electronically-controlled safety
systems, including the airbag system
• Vehicle speed
• Engine RPM
• Brake switch status
• Pedal position
• And other parameters depending on vehicle configuration
