MULTIFUNCTION SCREENS
16/9 HIGH DEFINITION RETRACTABLE COLOUR SCREEN (with Peugeot Connect Media)
Displays on the screen
Once unfolded, it displays the following
information automatically and directly:
- time,
- date,
- altitude,
- ambient temperature (the value d i s p l a y e d fl a s h e s i f t h e r e i s a r i s k o f
ice),
- audio functions,
- parking sensors,
-
telephone and address book information,
- satellite navigation system information. From the Peugeot Connect Media control
panel, to select one of the applications:
press the dedicated "RADIO" ,
"MEDIA" , "NAV" , "TRAFFIC" ,
"ADDR BOOK" or "SETUP" button
for access to the corresponding
menu,
turn the navigator to move the
selection,
p r e s s t h e n a v i g a t o r t o c o n fi r m t h e
selection,
or
press the "ESC" button to abandon
the current operation and return to
the previous display. For operation of the retractable screen
(opening, closing, adjustment of the
position, etc.), refer to the paragraph
"Access to the retractable screen".

REAR PARKING SENSORS
S y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y s e n -
sors, located in the rear bumper.
This detects any obstacle (person, ve-
h i c l e , t r e e , g a t e , e t c . ) b e h i n d t h e v e h i c l e ,
e x c e p t o b s t a c l e s l o c a t e d j u s t b e l o w t h e
bumper. A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a r o a d -
works cone or any other similar
o b j e c t m a y b e d e t e c t e d a t t h e b e -
ginning of the manoeuvre, but may
no longer be detected when the
vehicle comes close to it.
The parking sensor system can-
not, in any circumstances, take
the place of the vigilance and re-
sponsibility of the driver. Activation
The system is activated as soon as re-
verse gear is engaged, accompanied
b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l . T h e p r o x i m i t y i n -
formation is given by:
- an audible signal, which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
- a graphic on the multifunction screen, with blocks which become
increasingly closer to the vehicle. When the distance between the rear of
the vehicle and the obstacle is less than
thirty centimetres, the audible signal be-
comes continuous and the "Danger" sym-
bol appears on the multifunction screen.
On completion of the manoeuvre, when
y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r , t h e s y s t e m b e -
comes inactive.
Programming
You can activate or deactivate the
system by means of the multifunction
s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u . T h e s y s t e m
state is memorised when switching off
the ignition.
For more information on access to the
parking assistance menu, refer to ve-
h i c l e c o n fi g u r a t i o n i n t h e " M u l t i f u n c t i o n
screens" section corresponding to your
screen.
The system will be deactivated auto-
matically when towing a trailer or when
a b i c y c l e c a r r i e r i s fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e fi t t e d
with a towbar or bicycle carrier recom-
m e n d e d b y P E U G E O T ) .
Operating faults If there is an operating fault,
when reverse gear is engaged
this warning lamp comes on on
the instrument panel, accompa-
n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l ( s h o r t b e e p )
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
In bad or wintry weather, ensure that
the sensors are not covered with mud,
frost or snow.

AUDIBLE AND VISUAL FRONT AND REAR PARKING SENSORS
S y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y
sensors, installed in the front and rear
bumpers.
It detects any obstacle (person, vehicle,
t r e e , b a r r i e r . . . ) l o c a t e d i n f r o n t o f a n d
b e h i n d t h e v e h i c l e , e x c e p t f o r o b s t a c l e s
located immediately below the bumper. The parking sensors are
switched on :
- by engaging reverse gear,
- a t a s p e e d b e l o w 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) i n forward gear.
This is accompanied by an audible signal
a n d / o r d i s p l a y i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e o n t h e
multifunction screen.
A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a r o a d -
works cone or any other similar
o b j e c t m a y b e d e t e c t e d a t t h e s t a r t
of the manoeuvre but may no lon-
ger be detected when the vehicle
moves nearer to it. T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s i n d i c a t e d b y :
- an audible signal which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approach-
es the obstacle,
- a diagram on the multifunction screen, with blocks which move
closer to the vehicle.
The obstacle is located in relation to the
emission of the audible signal by the
speakers; front or rear and right or left.
When the distance between the vehicle
a n d t h e o b s t a c l e i s l e s s t h a n a p p r o x i -
mately thirty centimetres, the audible
s i g n a l b e c o m e s c o n t i n u o u s a n d / o r t h e
"Danger" symbol appears, depending
on the multifunction screen version.
The parking sensor system cannot,
in any circumstances, replace the
need for vigilance and responsibility
on the part of the driver.
The parking sensors are
switched off :
- w h e n y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r ,
- when the speed is higher than 6 mph ( 1 0 k m / h ) i n f o r w a r d g e a r ,
- when the vehicle has been station- ary for more than three seconds in
forward gear.

TOWING A TRAILER, A CARAVAN, ETC.
Your vehicle is primarily designed for
transporting people and luggage, but it
may also be used for towing a trailer. Driving advice
T h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d o n a l o n g
slope depends on the gradient and the
ambient temperature.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Side wind
Take into account the increased
sensitivity to side wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
To lower the engine speed, reduce
your speed. Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking
distance.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the towing
vehicle and of the trailer, observing the
recommended pressures.
Lighting
Check the electrical lighting and
signalling on the trailer.
The rear parking sensors will be de-
activated automatically if a genuine
PEUGEOT towbar is used.
If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come
on, stop the vehicle and
switch off the engine as
soon as possible.
Towbar suitable for the attachment of a
trailer or caravan with additional lighting
and signalling.
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest items are as close
a s p o s s i b l e t o t h e a x l e a n d t h e n o s e
w e i g h t a p p r o a c h e s t h e m a x i m u m
p e r m i t t e d w i t h o u t e x c e e d i n g i t .
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. Above
1 0 0 0 m e t r e s , t h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d
must be reduced by 10 % and so on for
every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Refer to the "Technical Data" section for
details of the weights and towing loads
which apply to your vehicle.
Driving with a trailer subjects the towing
v e h i c l e t o m o r e s i g n i fi c a n t s t r e s s a n d i t s
driver must be particularly careful.
We recommend the use of genuine
PEUGEOT towbars and their har-
nesses that have been tested and
approved from the design stage
o f y o u r v e h i c l e , a n d t h a t t h e fi t -
ting of the towbar is entrusted to a
PEUGEOT dealer.
I f t h e t r a i l e r i s n o t fi t t e d b y a
PEUGEOT dealer, it is imperative
t h a t i t i s fi t t e d u s i n g t h e e l e c t r i c a l
pre-equipment installed at the rear
of the vehicle, in accordance with
the manufacturer's instructions.
