Use the anchor brackets in the luggage
compartment to attach the top strap.
Anchor brackets are installed for each
rear seating positions.
This symbol indicates the location of the
anchor brackets.

3. Fix the child restraint system withthe seat belt.
4. Latch the hook onto the anchor bracket and tighten the top strap.
For instructions to install the child re-
straint system, see “Child restraint” on

CAUTION
Make sure the top strap is securely
latched, and check that the child re-
straint system is secure by pushing
and pulling it in different directions.
Follow all the installation instructions
provided by its manufacturer.

Be sure to close the lid when the anchor
bracket is not in use.

Lower anchorages for the child restraint
systems complying with the FMVSS225
specifications are installed in the rear
seat.
The anchorages are installed behind the
slits in the seat cushion of both outside
rear seats.
Child restraint system complying with the
FMVSS213 specification can be fixed to
these anchorages. In this case, it is not
necessary to fix the child restraint system
with a seat belt on the vehicle.

locks into place.

2. Widen the slits in the seat cushionslightly and confirm the position of
the lower anchorages below the but-
ton in the seatback.
3. Type A—Latch the hooks of lower straps onto the anchorages and
tighten the lower straps.
Type B—Latch the buckles onto the
anchorages.
If your child restraint system has a top
strap, it should be anchored. (For the
installation of the top strap, see “—Using
a top strap” on page 80.)
For installation details, refer to the instruc-
tion manual equipped with each product.CAUTION
When using the lower anchorages
for the child restraint system, be
sure that there are no irregular ob-
jects around the anchorages or that
the seat belt is not caught.
Push and pull the child restraint
system in different directions to be
sure it is secure. Follow all the
installation instructions provided by
its manufacturer.
Do not install a child restraint sys-
tem on the rear seat if it interferes
with the lock mechanism of the
front seats. Otherwise, the child or
front seat occupant(s) may be killed
or seriously injured in case of sud-
den braking or a collision.

Tilt steering wheel

To change the steering wheel angle,
hold the steering wheel, push down the
lock release lever, tilt the steering
wheel to the desired angle and return
the lever to its original position.
CAUTION
Do not adjust the steering wheel
while the vehicle is moving. Doing
so may cause the driver to mishan-
dle the vehicle and an accident may
occur resulting in death or serious
injuries.
After adjusting the steering wheel,
try moving it up and down to make
sure it is locked in position.
Outside rear view mirrors—

Adjust the mirror so that you can just
see the side of your vehicle in the mir-
ror.
Be careful when judging the size or dis-
tance of any object seen in the outside
rear view mirror on the passenger ’s side
because it is a convex mirror. Any object
seen in a convex mirror will look smaller
and farther away than when seen in a flat
mirror.

To adjust mirror, use the switches.1. Master switch—To select the mirror to be adjusted
Push the switch to “L” (left) or “R”
(right).
2. Control switch—To move the mirror Push the switch in the desired direc-
tion.
Mirrors can be adjusted when the key is
in the “ACC” or “ON” position.
NOTICE
If ice should jam the mirror, do not
operate the control or scrape the mir-
ror face. Use a spray de–icer to free
the mirror.

Adjust the mirror so that you can just
see the rear of your vehicle in the mir-
ror.
To reduce glare from the headlights of
the vehicle behind you during night
driving, operate the lever on the lower
edge of the mirror.
Daylight driving—Lever at position 1
The reflection in the mirror has greater
clarity at this position.
Night driving—Lever at position 2
Remember that by reducing glare you also
lose some rear view clarity.
CAUTION
Do not adjust the mirror while the
vehicle is moving. Doing so may
cause the driver to mishandle the ve-
hicle and an accident may occur re-
sulting in death or serious injuries.
Sun visors—

To block out glare, move the sun visor.
To block out glare from the front—Swing
down the sun visor (position 1).
To block out glare from the side—Swing
down the sun visor, remove it from the
hook and swing it to the lateral side (posi-
tion 2).
If glare comes from obliquely behind you,
extend the plate at the end of the visor
(position 3).
