Clock
The digital clock indicates the time with
the ignition off. To reset the time, the
ignition key must be in the “ON” position.
To reset the hour: Push the “H” button.
To reset the minutes: Push the “M” button.
If the electrical power source has been
disconnected from the clock, the time dis-
play will automatically be set to 1:00.
When the key is in the “ON” position,
push the “OUTSIDE TEMP” button to
change the display from clock to outside
temperature display. (See “Outside temper-
ature display” in this page.)
19T002
The key must be in the “ON” position.
To change the display from clock to out-
side temperature display, push the “OUT-
SIDE TEMP” button. The display changes
between clock and outside temperature
display alternately each time you push the
switch. (See “Clock” in this page.)
The displayed temperature ranges from
–30C (–22 F) up to 50 C (122 F).
When you return the key to the “ACC”
position, the display returns to clock
mode.
If there is a problem with the connection
to the outside air temperature sensor,
“– –” will appear on the display. Contact
your Scion dealer.

Steering switches are installed on the left
side of the steering wheel.
You can use these switches to operate
the audio volume control, radio, CD player
and so on.
For more detailed information, see the
separate “SCION Audio System Owner ’s
Manual” or “SCION Navigation System
Owner ’s Manual”.
CAUTION
Operate the switches with due care
while you are driving to avoid acci-
dents.

An AUX adapter is installed in the rear
console box.
By inserting a mini plug into the AUX
adapter, you can listen to music from a
portable audio device through the vehicle’s
speaker system.
When using a portable audio device con-
nected to the power outlet or cigarette
lighter, noise may occur during playback.
If this happens, use the power source of
the portable audio device.
If you install an audio system other than
a genuine audio system, you will not be
able to use the AUX adapter. For more detailed information, see the
separate “SCION Audio System Owner ’s
Manual” or “SCION Navigation System
Owner ’s Manual”.
CAUTION
When using the AUX adapter, observe
the following instructions. Failure to
do so could result in accident or inju-
ry.
Take care that the portable audio
device or cords do not hinder ve-
hicle operation.
Do not adjust the audio device
while driving.
19t029
An iPod jack is located as shown.
By inserting an iPod customer cable con-
nector into the iPod jack, you can listen
to music from an iPod through the ve-
hicle’s speaker system, while charging
your iPod.
If you install an audio system other than
a genuine audio system, you will not be
able to use the iPod jack.
For more detailed information, see the
separate “SCION Audio System Owner ’s
Manual” or “SCION Navigation System
Owner ’s Manual”.

2. Use a good quality polish and wax. Ifthe finish has become extremely weath-
ered, use a car–cleaning polish, fol-
lowed by a separate wax. Carefully fol-
low the manufacturer ’s instructions and
precautions. Be sure to polish and wax
the chrome trim as well as the paint.
Windshield washer nozzles: Make sure
that the nozzles do not become blocked
when waxing. If a nozzle becomes
blocked, contact your Scion dealer to have
the vehicle serviced.
NOTICE
If a nozzle becomes blocked, do not
try to clear it with a pin or other
object. The nozzle will be damaged.
Exterior lights: Do not apply wax on the
surfaces of the lights. Wax may cause
damage to the lenses. If you accidentally
put wax on the light surface, wipe or
wash it off.
3. Wax the vehicle again when water does not bead but remains on the sur-
face in large patches.
Cleaning the interior
CAUTION
Vehicles with side airbags and cur-
tain shield airbags:
Be careful not to splash water or
spill liquid on the floor. This may
prevent the side airbags and curtain
shield airbags from activating cor-
rectly, resulting in serious injury.
Do not wash the vehicle floor with
water, or allow water to get onto
the floor when cleaning the vehicle
interior or exterior. Water may get
into audio components or other
electrical components above or un-
der the vehicle carpet (or floor mat)
and cause a malfunction; and it
may cause body corrosion.
Vinyl interior
The vinyl upholstery may be easily
cleaned with a mild soap or detergent
and water.
First vacuum over the upholstery to re-
move loose dirt. Then, using a sponge or
soft cloth, apply the soap solution to the
vinyl. After allowing it to soak in for a few
minutes to loosen the dirt, remove the dirt
and wipe off the soap with a clean damp
cloth. If all the dirt do not come off, re-
peat the procedure. Commercial foa-
ming–type vinyl cleaners are also avail-
able which work well. Follow the
manufacturer ’s instructions.
NOTICE
Do not use solvent, thinner, gasoline
or window cleaner on the interior.
