Cruise control
This maintains a constant vehicle speed
programmed by the driver.
1. "ON/OFF" button: activation/
deactivation of the cruise control
mode.
2. "COAST SET" button: storing of a
driving speed then decreasing of
the cruising speed.
3. "ACC RES" button: increasing of
the cruising speed and recalling of
the stored speed.
4. "CANCEL" button: switching off of
the cruise control.
I n o r d e r t o b e p r o g r a m m e d o r a c t i v a t e d ,
the vehicle speed must be higher than
25 mph (40 km/h) with at least second
gear engaged. T h i s d e t e c t s a n y o b s t a c l e ( p e r s o n , v e -
h i c l e , t r e e , g a t e , . . . ) l o c a t e d b e h i n d t h e
vehicle.

this could indicate that the electric bulb of one of
the direction indicators has blown. Change the
bulb or contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Right-hand
direction

Main beam
headlamps Fixed This comes on when
you pull the lights stalk
towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped headlamps.
Side lights Fixed This comes on when
the lights stalk is in the
"Side lights" or "Dipped
headlamps" position. T u r n t h e s t a l k t o t h e p o s i t i o n r e q u i r e d .
Front fog
lamps Fixed This comes on when you
use the front fog lamps. Turn the ring on the stalk forwards to switch on
the fog lamps.
Rear fog
lamps Fixed This comes on when you
use the rear fog lamps. Turn the ring on the stalk forwards to switch on
the fog lamps.
Cruise
control Fixed This comes on when the
mode is active. Press the "ON/OFF" button to activate/deactivate
the mode.

Programming
Press button 1 .
Set the programmed speed by ac-
celerating to the required speed, then
press button 2 "COAST SET" .
CRUISE CONTROL
The controls of this system are grouped
together on the steering wheel.
1. "ON/OFF" button: activation/deacti-
vation of the cruise control mode.
2. "COAST SET" button: storing of a
driving speed and decreasing of the
cruising speed.
3. "ACC RES" button: increasing of
the cruising speed and recalling of
the stored speed.
4. "CANCEL" button: switching off of
the cruise control. When you press button
1 , the "CRUISE"
indicator light comes on on the instru-
ment panel.

The cruise control cannot, in any
circumstances, take the place of the
need to comply with speed limits or
of the vigilance and responsibility of
the driver.
System which permits automatic main-
taining of the vehicle speed at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is
switched on manually:

minimum and second gear must be engaged
in the case of a manual gearbox.
The cruise control is switched off manual-
ly, by an action on the brake or clutch pedal
or if the ASC system is triggered.
The programmed speed can be exceed-
ed temporarily by pressing the accelera-
tor pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value.

When the cruise control is in op-
eration, pay attention if you press
and hold one of the programmed
speed adjustment buttons: this
can result in a very rapid change
in the speed of your vehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
s l i p p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
On a steep descent, the cruise
control will not be able to pre-
vent the vehicle from exceeding
the programmed speed.
To prevent the mat from becom-
ing caught under the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is posi-tioned correctly,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.
Deactivating the function
To deactivate the cruise control:
Press the brake or clutch pedal, or
Press button 1 "ON OFF" , or
Press button 4 "CANCEL" .
The cruise control may be deactivated
automatically:
When the vehicle reaches a speed
b e l o w 2 0 m p h ( 3 5 k m / h ) .
When the active stability control sys-
t e m ( A S C ) c o m e s i n t o o p e r a t i o n . Reactivating the function
When the cruise control has been de-
activated, you can return to the stored
speed by pressing button
3 "ACC RES"
when you reach a minimum speed of
2 5 m p h ( 4 0 k m / h ) .
Decreasing the programmed
speed
Using button 2 "COAST SET" :
- successive presses decrease the speed in steps of approximately
1 m p h ( 1 . 6 k m / h ) .
- a maintained press of this button decreases the speed progressively.
Once the speed required has been
reached, release the button, the new
speed is stored.
Using the brake pedal:
- brake to deactivate the cruise con- trol, then press button 2 "COAST
SET" . Release to store the new
speed. Temporary acceleration/
deceleration
Increasing the programmed
speed
Using button 3 "ACC RES" :
-
successive presses increase the speed in
s t e p s o f a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 m p h ( 1 . 6 k m / h ) .
- a maintained press of this button in- creases the programmed speed pro-
gressively.
Once the speed required has been
reached, release the button, the new
speed is stored.
Using the accelerator pedal:
- accelerate to reach the speed re- quired, then press button 2 "COAST
SET" . Release the button to store
the new speed. Temporary acceleration
Press the accelerator pedal as normal.
When the pedal is released, you return
to the stored speed.
Temporary deceleration
Press the brake pedal to reduce the
speed. To return to the stored speed,
press button
3 "ACC RES" .
