The On-Command four-wheel-drive indicator “”
comes on when the On-Command four-wheel-
drive switch is set to the “4WD” position.
The On-Command differential gear lock indicator
“” in the On-Command four-wheel-drive indica-
tor also comes on when the On-Command differ-
ential gear lock switch is set to the “LOCK”
position.NOTE:

Due to the synchronizing mechanism in the dif-
ferential gear case, the four-wheel-drive indica-
tor may not come on until the vehicle starts
moving.


When the On-Command differential gear lock
switch is set to “LOCK”, the indicator “” will
flash until the differential gear is locked.

motrices “” s’allume lorsque le commutateur du
mode de traction quatre roues motrices est réglé à la po-
sition “4WD”.
L’indicateur de commande de blocage du différentiel
“” s’allume dans l’indicateur de commande de trans-
mission quatre roues motrices lorsque le commutateur de
blocage du différentiel est réglé à la position “LOCK”.N.B.:

En raison du mécanisme de synchronisation du diffé-
rentiel, l’indicateur de traction sur quatre roues ne
s’affiche cependant pas toujours tant que le véhicule
est à l’arrêt.


Lorsque le commutateur de blocage du différentiel
est réglé sur “LOCK”, le témoin “” clignote jus-
qu’à ce que le différentiel se bloque.

Debido al mecanismo de sincronización de la
caja de engranajes del diferencial, es posible que
la luz indicadora del modo de tracción en las cua-
tro ruedas no se encienda hasta que se mueva el
vehículo.


Cuando el interruptor manual de bloqueo del dife-
rencial se sitúa en la posición posición “LOCK”, el
indicador ““ parpadea hasta que se bloquea
el diferencial.

On-Command four-wheel-drive and differential
gear lock switches
This vehicle is equipped with an On-Command
four-wheel-drive switch “2WD”/“4WD” and a differ-
ential gear lock switch “4WD”/“LOCK”. Select the
appropriate drive according to terrain and the con-
ditions.

Two-wheel drive (“2WD”): Power is supplied to
the rear wheels only.


Four-wheel drive (“4WD”): Power is supplied to
the rear and front wheels.


Four-wheel drive with the differential gear
locked (“4WD-LOCK”): Power is supplied to the
rear and front wheels when the differential gear
is locked (“DIFF.LOCK”). Unlike the 4WD
mode, all wheels turn at the same speed re-
gardless of traction.

Traction sur deux roues (“2WD”) : la puissance est
transmise aux roues arrière uniquement.


Traction sur quatre roues (“4WD”) : la puissance est
transmise aux roues avant et arrière.


Traction sur quatre roues et différentiel bloqué
(“4WD-LOCK”) : la puissance est transmise aux
roues avant et arrière lorsque le différentiel est bloqué
(“DIFF.LOCK”). Contrairement au mode “4WD”,
toutes les roues tournent à la même vitesse, quel que
soit le mode de traction.

WARNING
Always stop the vehicle before changing from
2WD to 4WD, or from 4WD to 4WD-LOCK, or
vice-versa.
The vehicle handles differently in 2WD than in
4WD and in 4WD-LOCK in some circumstanc-
es. Changing from 2WD to 4WD, or from 4WD
to 4WD-LOCK, or vice-versa while moving may
cause the vehicle to unexpectedly handle dif-
ferently. This could distract the operator and
increase the risk of losing control and an acci-
dent.

Toujours arrêter le véhicule avant de passer d’un
mode de traction à un autre.
Dans certains cas, le comportement du véhicule en
traction sur deux roues différera de son comporte-
ment en traction sur quatre roues et avec différentiel
bloqué. Le passage d’un mode de traction à un autre
lorsque le véhicule est en mouvement risque de modi-
fier brusquement son comportement. Ceci pourrait
distraire le pilote et entraîner une perte de contrôle et
un accident.
ADVERTENCIA
Pare siempre el vehículo antes de cambiar de
2WD a 4WD o de 4WD a 4WD-LOCK y viceversa.
En algunas circunstancias, el vehículo se com-
porta de forma distinta en 2WD que en 4WD y en
4WD-LOCK. Si se pasa de 2WD a 4WD o de 4WD
a 4WD-LOCK y viceversa con el vehículo en mo-
vimiento, el comportamiento del mismo puede
cambiar de forma inesperada. Ello puede dis-
traer al conductor, con el consiguiente riesgo de
pérdida de control y accidente.

To change from 2WD to 4WD, stop the vehicle,
and then set the switch to “4WD”. When the vehi-
cle is in 4WD, the 4WD indicator “” will come
on in the multi-function meter unit display. To
change from 4WD to 2WD, stop the vehicle, be
sure the select lever is set to position a, and then
set the switch to “2WD”.
