ing switch and performs the diagnosis when ignition switch ACC.
The on board diagnosis has 3 modes: the self-diagnosis mode that performs the trouble diagnosis, the
speaker adaptation data deleting mode and the hands free phone system initialization mode.
NOTE:
Perform the diagnosis with the vehicle stopped.
Perform STEP 2 if necessary.

ply circuit between TEL adapter unit to
the microphone.
Voice guidance does not
activate, or the volume of
voice guidance is too low
when pressing switch.

3. Check if remote control signal A circuit
between steering switch and TEL
adapter unit is not open or short.
4. Check voltage of remote control signal A
between steering switch and TEL
adapter unit when operating steering
switch.
Dial the cellular phone. The front speaker
RH does not outputs a dial tone.1. Check TEL ON signal circuit. Go to the
next step if normal.
2. Disconnect TEL adapter unit connector.
Measure audio unit #28 terminal volt-
age. Replace TEL adapter unit if the
voltage approx. 5 V. Replace audio unit
if the voltage approx. 0 V.
None of the steering switch
operations work.—
Check control signal 1circuit.
Check steering switch signal ground cir-
cuit.
