DIRECTION INDICATORS
Move the stalk:
❒up (stable position 1): to engage the right-hand direction
indicator;
❒down (stable position 2): to engage the left-hand direction
indicator.
Warning light ForDwill come on flashing on the instrument cluster.
Indicators are switched off automatically when the steering wheel is
straightened.
If you want the indicator to flash briefly to show that you are about to
change lane, move the stalk up or down without clicking into position
(unstable position). When released the stalk will return to its home
position.

ASR SYSTEM (Antislip Regulation)
It’s a function of ESP system and controls the vehicle
drive and cuts in automatically every time one or both
driving wheels slip.
In slipping conditions, two different control systems
are activated:
❒if the slipping involves both the driving wheels, the
ASR function intervenes reducing the power
transmitted by the engine;
❒if the slipping involves only one driving wheel, the
ASR system cuts in automatically braking the
wheel that is slipping. The action of the ASR is particularly helpful in the
following circumstances:
❒slipping of the inner wheel due to the effect of
dynamic load changes or excessive acceleration;
❒too much power transmitted to the wheels also in
relation to the conditions of the road surface;
❒acceleration on slippery, snowy or frozen surfaces;
❒in the case of loss of grip on a wet surface
(aquaplaning).

IMPORTANT NOTES ON TYRE PRESSURE
MONITORING SYSTEM (T.P.M.S.)
IMPORTANT Failure indications will not be stored
and therefore will not be displayed when turning
the engine off and on again. If failure persists, the
control unit will send warning indications to the
instrument panel only after a few seconds when the
car is moving.
IMPORTANT T.P.M.S. system cannot indicate
sudden tyre pressure drops (e.g.: tyre burst).
In this event, brake the car cautiously and avoid
sudden steering.
IMPORTANT Cross switching of rear tyres with
front tyres or replacing standard tyres with winter
tyres and vice versa involves T.P.M.S. system set-up
that shall be performed at Lancia Dealerships only.IMPORTANT The T.P.M.S. system requires specific
equipment. Apply to Lancia Dealerships for
compatible accessories (wheels, wheel caps, etc.).
Other accessories could impair regular system
operation.
Due to the particular valve characteristics, use only
Lancia-approved tyre repair sealing fluids. Other
products could impair regular system operation.
IMPORTANT Tyre pressure could change according
to outside temperature. For this reason the T.P.M.S.
system could temporarily indicate low tyre pressure.
In this event check pressure with cold tyres and
restore proper inflation values if required.
IMPORTANT If the car is fitted with T.P.M.S.
system, tyre and/or rim changing should be
performed adopting special precautions. To avoid
bad installation of sensors or damages, have these
operations performed by Lancia Dealership
qualified personnel only.
IMPORTANT If after repairing a punctured tyre
with the Fix&Go kit and restoring the initial
conditions the flat tyre warning light continues to
stay on, contact Lancia Dealership.

SNOW TYRES
Use snow tyres of the same size as the normal tyres
provided with the car.
Lancia Dealership will be happy to provide advice
concerning the most suitable type of tyre for the
customer’s requirements.
For the type of tyre to be used, inflation pressures
and the specifications of snow tyres, follow the
instructions given in paragraph “Wheels” in section
“Technical specifications”.
The winter features of these tyres are reduced
considerably when the tread depth is below 4 mm.
In this case, they should be replaced.Due to the snow tyre features, under normal
conditions of use or on long motorway journeys, the
performance of these tyres is lower than that of
normal tyres. It is therefore necessary to limit their
use to the purposes for which they are certified.
IMPORTANT When snow tyres are used with a max
speed index below the one that can be reached by
the car (increased by 5%), place a notice in the
passenger compartment, plainly in the driver’s view
which states the max permissible speed of the snow
tyres (as per EC Directive).
All four tyres should be the same (brand and track)
to ensure greater safety when driving and braking
and better driveability.
Remember that it is inappropriate to change the
direction of rotation of tyres.

BUMP STARTING
Never bump start the engine (by pushing, towing,
or coasting downhill) as this could cause fuel to
flow into the catalytic exhaust system and damage
it beyond repair.IMPORTANT Remember that until the engine has
started the brake booster and electrical power
steering systems will not work and a greater effort
will therefore be required to press the brake pedal
or turn the steering wheel.
WARNING
Alert other drivers that the car is stationary in compliance with local regulations:
hazard warning lights, warning triangle etc. Any passengers on board should
leave the car, especially if it is heavily laden. Passengers should stay away from
oncoming traffic while the wheel is being changed on. If the wheel is being
changed on a steep or badly surfaced road, place the wedges or other suitable
material under the wheel to stop the car.

WARNING
The space-saver spare wheel is specific to the vehicle: do not use it on other
models and do not use spare wheels designed for other models on your car.
The space-saver spare wheel must only be used in the event of an emergency, and
then only for as little as possible and at no more than 80 km/h.
The space-saver spare wheel is fitted with an orange sticker giving the main
instructions for its use and limitations. The sticker must never be removed or
covered. Do not fit the hub cap to the spare wheel. The sticker gives the following
information in four languages: C
AUTION! FOR TEMPORARY USE ONLY! 80 KM/H MAX!
R
EPLACE BY NORMAL WHEEL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT COVER THIS LABEL IN USE. IMPORTANT If the car is fitted with T.P.M.S.
system, tyre and/or rim changing should be
performed adopting special precautions. To avoid
bad installation of sensors or damages, have these
operations performed by Lancia Dealership
qualified personnel only.
IMPORTANT If the car is fitted with T.P.M.S.
system, when changing a tyre, change also the
rubber inflation valve seal. Contact Lancia
Dealership.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Wheel changing and correct use of the jack and
space-saver spare wheel call for some precautions as
listed below.
IMPORTANT If the car is equipped with “Kit for
tyre quick repair Fix & Go”, see the instructions
contained in the following chapter.

WARNING
The jack should only be used to change a wheel on the car for which it was
designed. It should not be put to other uses or employed to raise other models of
cars. Under no circumstances should it be used when carrying out repairs under
the car. An incorrectly positioned jack may cause the car to fall.
Do not use the jack to lift loads exceeding that indicated on the label attached to
the jack itself.
Do not fit snow chains on a space-saver spare wheel.
If a front wheel (drive wheel) is punctured and you require snow chains to
proceed, take a standard wheel from the rear axle and fit the space-saver spare
wheel in its place.
Having fitted two standard wheels on the front drive axle you can use snow
chains, thus solving the emergency situation.
WARNING
When driving with a space-saver spare wheel fitted, the driving performance of
your car may change. Avoid accelerating or braking suddenly, steering abruptly
or fast cornering.
The lifespan of a space-saver spare wheel is approximately 3000 km, after which
it will need to be replaced with another spare wheel of the same type. Never fit a
standard tyre on the space-saver spare wheel rim.
Have the wheel replaced and refitted as soon as possible. Never use two or more
spare wheels at the same time. Do not lubricate the bolt threads before fitting
them back: they could come loose.
WARNING
Fasten the wheel cap correctly to prevent the wheel from coming free in motion.
Never tamper with the inflation valve.
Never place tools between the rim and tyre. Check the tyre and space-saver spare
wheel pressure regularly. The tyre inflation pressure is shown in the “Technical
specifications” chapter.
