o Check that windows, mirrors and
lights are clean.
o Check if any tire is low or flat.
o Look for fluid leaks.
o Check that area is clear if you're about to back up.

o The driver and passengers are wear- ing properly adjusted seat belts.
o The head restraints are properly adjusted, if so equipped.
o Adjust inside and outside mirrors.
o Check warning lights for correct
operation, with the ignition key in the position "ON".
o Check all gauges, for normal opera- tion. WARNING: (Diesel only)
To ensure that sufficient vacuum exists within the brake system dur-ing cold weather start-up condi- tions, it is necessary to run the engine at idle after starting the en-gine. NOTE: Fluid levels, such as engine oil, engine coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid, should be checked daily and/or weekly, orwhenever you refuel. Further details are described in the "CONSUMER INFORMATION" sec-tion.
Biodiesel Commercially supplied biodiesel blends of no more than 5% biodiesel, com- monly known as "B5 biodiesel" may beused in your vehicle if it meets EN 14214 or equivalent specifications. (EN stands for "European Norm"). The useof biofuels made from rapeseed methyl ester (RME), fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), vegetable oil methyl ester(VME) etc. or mixing diesel with biodiesel will cause increased wear or damage to the engine and fuel system.Repair or replacement of worn or dam- aged components due to the use of non approved fuels will not be covered bythe manufactures warranty.
CAUTION:
o Never use any fuel, whether diesel or B5 biodiesel that fails to meetthe latest petroleum industry speci-fication.
o Never use any fuel additives or
treatments that are not recom-mended or approved by the ve- hicle manufacturer.

For greater convenience, the same key operates all the locks in your Hyundai.However, because the doors can be locked without a key, carrying a spare key is recommended in case you acci-dentally lock one key inside the car. B030B01A-AAT Record Your Key Number A code number is stamped on the number plate that came with the keysto your Hyundai. This key number plate should not be left with the keys but kept in a safe place, not in thevehicle. The key number should also be recorded in a place where it can be found in an emergency. If you need additional keys, or if you should lose your keys, your authorizedHyundai dealer can make new keys if you can supply the key number.

All of the locks fitted to the vehicle are operated by the same key. However,since it is possible to lock the doors without the use of the key, care should be exercised to ensure that the keydoes not become locked inside the vehicle by mistake. For greater convenience, your Hyundaihas two types of keys as shown in the illustration. ID key This key must be used first to register a unique ID code in the ICU. This IDcode is then recorded onto the master keys. Both sides of the key has a Hyundai logo.With Theft-alarm system

Master key This key is for general use. It will open all locks on your vehicle.One side of the key has the Hyundai logo and the other side has the "M" symbol.If your vehicle is equipped with Theft- alarm system, the master keys with the function of transmitter will be pro-vided. (E.C only) NOTE: If you make your own duplicate key, you will not be able to cancel the system or start the engine.
CAUTION:
Don't lose your ID key or forget thepassword. Always keep your ID key in a place where you remember andrecord your password. If you don't have both the password and ID key, consult your authorized Hyundaidealer.

In the interest of security, the metal tag attached to the keys which bears thekey number should be removed from the key ring after delivery. In addition, key numbers cannot be provided byHyundai for security reasons. 1. To set the password, you may turn
the ignition key "ON" and then turn it "OFF" according to the digit num- bers. For example, turn the ignition key once for digit number "1", andtwice for "2", and so on. However, for the digit number "0", you must turn the ignition key for 10 times.
2. Wait for 3~10 seconds.
3. You may set the remaining number
of digits by following the same pro- cedures 1 and 2.
4. If all of four digits have been tried
successfully, from this time, youhave to start your engine within 30 seconds. If you start your engine after 30 seconds, your engine willnot start.
NOTE: If the engine dies while driving after limp home procedure, you can startyour engine within 8 seconds in condition of ignition OFF without limp home procedure again. After doing the limp home procedure, you have to consult with your autho-rized Hyundai dealer as soon as pos- sible.

In case the immobilizer system is out of order, you cannot start the enginewithout the limp home procedures with ignition key. The following procedure is how to startthe engine with the function of the limp home. (0, 1, 2, 3 as a sample pass- word). B880D02A-GAT Limp home procedures In case the immobilizer warning indica- tor blinks for five seconds when theignition key is turned to "ON" position, this indicates that the immobilizer sys- tem is out of order. And you cannotstart the engine without the limp home procedures with ignition key. The following procedure is how to startthe engine with the function of the limp home. (0, 1, 2, 3 as a sample pass- word).

NOTE: You can get the limp home pass- word when the vehicle is first deliv- ered to you. If you do not have thepassword, consult your authorized Hyundai dealer.
1. To set the password you may turn the ignition key "ON" and then turn it "OFF" according to the digit num-bers, then the immobilizer indicator will blink along with the operation of the ignition key. For example, turnthe ignition key once for digit num- ber "1", and twice for "2", and so on. However, for the digit number "0",you must turn the ignition key for 10 times.
2. Wait for 3~10 seconds.
3. You may set the remaining number of digits by following the same pro-cedures 1 and 2.
4. If all of four digits have been tried successfully, turn the ignition key"ON" and check that the immobi-lizer indicator illuminates. From this time, you have to start your engine within 30 seconds. If you start yourengine after 30 seconds, your en- gine will not start. NOTE: If the engine dies while driving after limp home procedure, you can start your engine within 8 seconds with-out limp home procedure again.
5. If the immobilizer indicator blinks for
five seconds, you have to try the limp home procedure again from the beginning.
After doing the limp home procedure,you have to consult with your autho-rized Hyundai dealer as soon as pos- sible.
CAUTION:
o If you fail to try the limp home procedure with the sequence of three times, you have to wait for about one hour to do the limp home procedure again.
o If you cannot start your engine in spite of limp home procedure,have your vehicle towed by anauthorized Hyundai dealer.
! B120A02P-GAT (If installed) Whenever a front door is opened, the ignition switch will illuminate for yourconvenience. The light will go off when the ignition switch is turned on or 10 seconds afterclosing the door.
