To flash the headlights, pull the switch lever toward you, then release it. The headlights can be flashed even thoughthe headlight switch is in the "OFF" position.

B340F01MC-GAT Daytime Running Lights (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with daytime running lights. The daytime running lights are used to improve visibility for oncoming traffic. Your vehicle daytimerunning lights are designed to remain on continuously when the engine is operat- ing even though the headlight switch isin the "OFF" position. If you turn on the tail lights when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position, the daytime runninglights will go off. The system automatically turns offthe headlights and parking lights whenthe driver removes the ignition key and opens the driver- side door.
o With this feature, the parking light
will be turned off automatically if thedriver parks on the side of road at night.If necessary, to keep the lights on when the ignition key is removed, perform the following :
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parking lights OFF andON again using the light switch on the steering column.

To adjust the headlight beam level ac- cording to the number of the passen-gers and the loading weight in the lug- gage area, turn the beam leveling switch. The higher the number of the switchposition, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beam at the proper leveling position, or head-lights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of proper switch settings. For loading conditionsother than those listed below, adjust the switch position so that the beam level may be the nearest as the conditionobtained according to the list.
HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM

The hazard warning system should be used whenever you find it necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. When you must make such an emer-gency stop, always pull off the road as far as possible. The hazard warning lights are turned onby pushing in the hazard switch. This causes all turn signal lights to blink. The hazard warning lights will operateeven though the key is not in the igni- tion. To turn the hazard warning lights off,push the switch a second time.

B360B01FC-GAT Front Fog Light Switch (If Installed) To turn on the front fog lights, push the switch in the "ON" position. They will light when the headlight switch is in thefirst or second position.
CAUTION:
Do not clean the inner side of the rearwindow glass with an abrasive type of glass cleaner or use a scraper to remove foreign deposits from theinner surface of the glass as this may cause damage to the defroster ele- ments. NOTE: The engine must be running for the rear window defroster to operate.

REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER SWITCH
B380A01HP-AAT The rear window defroster and heated outside rearview mirrors are turned on by pushing in the switch. To turn thedefroster off, push the switch a second time. The rear window defroster auto- matically turns itself off after about 20minutes. To restart the defroster cycle, push in the switch again after it has turned itself off.

Manual slide close To close the sunroof, press the TILT UP button on the overhead console andhold it until the sunroof is closed.
WARNING:

B460D01NF-GAT Manual Operation of Sunroof If the sunroof does not electrically oper- ate:
1. Open the spectacle case.
2. Remove the two mounting screws of
the front overhead console with a (+)driver. OMC025022
3. Insert the hexagonal head wrench
provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found in the vehicle's trunk or glove box.
4. Turn the wrench clockwise to open or counterclockwise to close thesunroof. OMC025023B460E01TG-GAT Resetting the sunroof Whenever the vehicle battery is discon- nected or discharged, or you use theemergency handle to operate the sunroof, you have to reset your sunroof system as follows:
1. Turn the ignition key to the "ON"
position.
2. Press the TILT UP button for more than 1 second to tilt up the sunroof completely when the sunroof is fullyclosed. Then, release the button.
3. Press and hold the TILT UP button
once again until the sunroof hasreturned to the original position of TILT UP after it is raised a little higher than the maximum TILT UPposition. Then, release the button.
4. Press and hold the TILT UP button
within 5 seconds until the sunroof isoperated as follows; TILT DOWN SLIDE OPEN
SLIDE CLOSEThen, release the button.

The interior courtesy light switch has three positions. The three positions are: o "DOOR" In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any dooris opened regardless of the ignition key position. The light goes out gradually after 30 seconds if the door is closed.However if the ignition switch is ON or all doors are locked, interior light will turn off even within 30 seconds.

This light pro- duces a spot beam for convenient useas a map light at night or as a personal light for the driver and the passenger. o "DOOR" In the "DOOR" position, the map light comes on when any door is opened regardless of the ignition key position. The light goes out gradually after 30seconds if the door is closed. However if the ignition switch is ON or all doors are locked, map light will turn off evenwithin 30 seconds.
