The set possesses the following functions:
RADIO SECTION

programmes);
❒AF: alternative frequency search selection in RDS
mode;

❒automatic/manual station tuning;
❒manual storage of 30 stations: 18 in the FM band (6
in FM1, 6 in FM2, 6 in FMT), 6 in the MW band and
6 in the LW band;
❒automatic storage (AUTOSTORE function) of 6
stations in FMT band;
❒DX/LO function (sensitivity adjusting in searching
radio stations);❒Scan function (scanning stored stations);
❒automatic Stereo/Mono switching.
TAPE SECTION
❒Autoreverse;
❒Tape fast forward/rewind;
❒CrO

❒MSS function (previous/next track automatic
search);
❒Repeat function (repetition of last track);

Mute function (turning off the volume
completely)
To switch on the Mute function, briefly press the
button/
z(21). Volume will gradually lower (Soft Mute
function) and the display will show the word “MUTE”.
To switch off the Mute function, briefly press the
button/
z(21) again. Volume will gradually become
louder (Soft Mute function) returning to the value set
before switching on the Mute function.
The Mute function is also switched off pressing one of
the volume adjustment buttons “VOL+” (22) or “VOL
–”(20): in this case the volume is changed directly.
With the Mute function on:
❒all the other functions can be used;
❒if an emergency alarm or a traffic bulletin arrives
with the TA function on, the message ignores the
Mute function;
❒If the “Telephone preset” option is available, the
Mute function is ignored at incoming calls. After the
call is over, the function is actuated again;
❒if with TA function on, the radio does not broadcast
traffic info, a warning beep will sound.Soft Mute function
When the Mute function is turned on or off, the
volume lowers or increases gradually (Soft Mute
function). The Soft Mute function is also activated
when one of the six preselection buttons, the “BN”
button (7) or the “ON” button (21) is pressed.
Tone adjustment (bass/treble)
Proceed as follows:
❒briefly and repeatedly press the 19 (AUD) button
until the display shows “BASS” or “TREBLE”;
❒press 8 (
N) or 10 (O) to increase/decrease the
basses or trebles.
Pressing the buttons briefly the change is gradual by
steps. Pressing longer, changing is faster.
The bass/treble levels (–6 to +6) will appear on the
display for approximately 4 seconds.
After about 4 seconds from the last adjustment the
display returns to the main radio screen.

IMPORTANT If the TA function is on and the station
tuned is not able to provide traffic information or it is
no longer able to provide this information (the display
will not show “TP”), so after about 1 minute in which
the radio is in these conditions:
❒if listening to a tape another station is sought that is
enabled to transmit traffic information;
❒if when listening to the radio a “beep” is given to
alert that it is not possible to receive traffic
information, to interrupt it, it is necessary to tune
to a station that can provide traffic information or
switch off the TA function.
The TA function is interrupted in the following cases:
❒in radio mode: press a preset button during a traffic
bulletin;
❒pressing button 6 (SRC-SC) during a traffic bulletin;
❒by automatic/manual tuning or AutoSTore;
❒turning the Mute function on.Emergency alarm reception
In the RDS mode the radio is set to receive
emergency announcements in the case of exceptional
circumstances or events that may cause general danger
(earthquakes, floods, etc.), if they are broadcast by the
station tuned.
This function is activated automatically and cannot be
deactivated.
Program Type function (PTY)
(selecting a type of programme)
To turn on the PTY function, which makes it possible
to give top priority to PTY programmes, when
present, which may involve emergency messages or
various topics (e.g.: music, news bulletins), briefly press
button 2 (PTY) until the display shows “PTY” and the
subject of the last station heard (e.g.: “NEWS”).
After about 2 seconds the station name or frequency
is shown on the display.
IMPORTANT To turn on the PTY function, the radio
must be in the FM band.

Changing the tape playing side
After playing the tape, the cassette side is changed
automatically (Autoreverse function).
The display shows the tape side being played.
To change side before the end of the tape, press
button 3 (
¯˙) (Reverse function); the display will
change accordingly.
MSS function
(searching previous/next track)
Briefly press button 8 (
N), to play the next track on
the cassette and button 10 (
O) to play the previous
track.
During fast forward the display shows the wording
“MSS FF” followed by the number of the next pieces
to be skipped.
Keep button 8 (
N) or 10 (O), pressed to obtain
continuous forwards/backwards. Keep these buttons
pressed to move forwards/backwards the number of
required pieces.During rewind the display shows the wording “MSS
FR” followed by the number of the previous pieces to
be skipped.
MSS function is interrupted in the following cases:
❒when the sound source is changed;
❒when the cassette is ejected;
❒when the side of the tape is reversed;
❒when a function that needs the display for new
information is turned on/off;
❒when the set is turned off;
❒when the TA (traffic information) and Tel-mute
functions are on and when receiving an emergency
alarm (PTY31). After the message the set resumes
playing;
❒when button 9 (
˜) or 12 (÷) is pressed.

Tape fast forward/rewind
To move the tape fast forward, press button 9 (
˜)
or 12 (
÷) depending on the direction of the tape.
The display will show the direction selected:
❒“FORWARD”;
❒“REWIND”.
To interrupt fast forward/rewind, press again button 9
(
˜) or 12 (÷).
The fast forward/rewind function is interrupted in the
following cases:
❒when the sound source is changed;
❒when the cassette is ejected;
❒when the side of the tape is reversed;
❒when a function that needs the display for new
information is turned on/off;
❒when the set is turned off;
❒when the TA (traffic information) and Tel-mute
functions are on and when receiving an emergency
alarm (PTY31). After the message the set resumes
playing;
❒when button 8 (
N) or 10 (O) is pressed.Pause function
To pause the cassette player, press button 16 (3-II).
The display will show “PAUSE”. To listen to the track
again, press again button 16 (3-II).
The pause function is automatically cancelled changing
the sound source.
Scan function (scanning tracks)
With this function it is possible to hear all the tracks
contained in the cassette.
Keep button 6 (SRC-SC) pressed until hearing the
“beep” to play the first 10 seconds of all the pieces on
the tape. While playing the track and searching the
start of the next track, the display will show the
wording “SCAN”.
Press button 6 (SRC-SC) again to interrupt scanning
while listening to a track: the word “SCAN” will go off
the display and the cassette will be played starting
from that track.

car speed;
❒automatic Stereo/Mono switching.
On multimedia CDs in addition to sound tracks also data tracks are recorded.
Playing one of these CDs may cause rustling and such a volume as to compromise road safety, as
well as causing damage to the final stages and speakers.
For installation and connection of the CD Changer apply only to Fiat Dealership.

SVC function
(volume changing with speed)
The SVC function makes it possible to automatically
adapt the volume level to the speed of the car,
increasing it as the speed increases to maintain the
ratio with the noise level in the passenger
compartment.
To activate the SVC function briefly press button 11
(MENU-PRESET SCAN), then use buttons 6 (
N) or
(
O) to scroll the menu stopping on the SVC function
and buttons 5 (
÷) or (˜) to switch the function
on or off selecting respectively “SVC SETTING ON”
or “SVC SETTING OFF”.
This function can be turned on or off in all the
operating modes of the device (Radio/Compact
Disc/CD Changer).
After about 4 seconds from the last adjustment the
display returns to the main radio screen.Mute function
(turning off the volume completely)
To switch on the Mute function, briefly press the
button/knob 18 (VOLUME ON/OFF). Volume will
gradually lower (Soft Mute function) and the display
will show the word “MUTE”.
To switch off the Mute function, briefly press the
button/knob 18 (VOLUME ON/OFF). Volume will
gradually become louder (Soft Mute function)
returning to the value set before switching on the
Mute function.
With the Mute function on:
❒all the other functions can be used;
❒turning the button/knob 18 (VOLUME ON/OFF)
the volume can be directly adjusted;
❒if an emergency alarm or a traffic bulletin arrives
with the TA function on, the message ignores the
Mute function;
❒an incoming call ignores the Mute function. The
Mute function will be resumed at the end of the call;
❒if with TA function on, the radio does not broadcast
traffic info, a warning beep will sound.

wording “NO PTY PROVIDED” is shown on the
display for a few seconds.
