Vehicles with a Duratecengine
The fuel supply may be cut off as aresult of an accident or suddenvibrations (e.g. collision whenparking).
The switch is located in the side panelin front of the left-hand door. Thebutton will be raised when the switchis activated.
Resetting the switch
WARNING
Do not reset the fuel cut-offswitch if you see or smell leakingfuel.
•Turn the ignition switch to position0.
•Check fuel system for leaks.
•If no fuel leak is apparent, resetthe switch by pushing in thebutton (see illustration).
•Turn the ignition switch to positionII. After a few seconds return thekey to position I.
•Make a further check for leaks inthe fuel system.

Seat belts
Belts subjected to strain − as a resultof an accident − should be renewedand the anchorages checked by anexpert.

To check or replace a fuse, first pulloff the battery cover 1. Then removethe cover of the fuse box 2 byreleasing the catch and lifting up.
You will find the fuse chart inside thefuse box cover.

To open, turn anti-clockwise and pullup. Do not open the cap while theengine is running.
To close, turn the cap clockwise untilit clicks.
Engine oil change
Use Ford/Motorcraft Formula ESAE 5W-30 engine oil. Alternativeengine oils with the viscosity SAE5W-30 meeting the requirementsof Ford SpecificationWSS-M2C913-B may also beused.
Engine oil top-up
If you are unable to find an oil thatmeets any of these specifications,you must use an oil of the viscositySAE 5W-30, SAE 10W-40 or SAE5W-40, according to outsidetemperatures, meeting therequirements of either ACEA A1/B1or ACEA A3/B3 specifications. Useof these oils may result in longercranking periods, reduced engineperformance, reduced fuel economy,and increased emission levels.

The jack must only be used onthe jacking points specifiedbelow.
The front jacking point 1 is locatedapproximately 27 cm from the frontend of the sill. If you open up theOwner’s handbook, it isapproximately 27 cm wide.
The rear jacking point 2 is locatedapproximately 10 cm from the rearend of the sill.
Vehicles with side skirts
On vehicles with side skirts, the covermust be removed before placing thejack under the vehicle.
To remove pull the lower edge of thecover and rotate upwards, then pullit off.
Additional jacking points
WARNINGS
Positioning at other points maycause considerable damage tothe body, steering, suspension,engine, braking system and fuel lines.
Vehicles with side skirts requirespecial rubber pads to avoiddamaging the side skirts or thevehicle.
Points 1 and 2 can be used for trolleyjacks, workshop hoists or jack stands.
