Passenger Folding Seatback
Your vehicle has a front passenger seat that folds at.
{CAUTION:
If you fold the seatback forward to carry longer
objects, such as skis, be sure any such cargo
is not near an airbag. In a crash, an inating
airbag might force that object toward a person.
This could cause severe injury or even death.
Secure objects away from the area in which an
airbag would inate. For more information,
seeWhere Are the Airbags? on page 1-61and
Loading Your Vehicle on page 4-32.
{CAUTION:
Things you put on this seatback can strike
and injure people in a sudden stop or turn, or
in a crash. Remove or secure all items before
driving.
To fold the seatback, do the following:
1. Move the front passenger seat rearward to ensure
there is enough room to fold the seatback forward.
SeeManual Seats on page 1-2for more
information. The head restraint may need to be
removed if the seat is not able to be moved
fully rearward. If removing the head restraint,
store it so that it will not move while the vehicle is
in motion.
2. Make sure that the seatback is in an upright
position. Use the recliner lever located on the
outboard side of the seat to move the seatback to
the upright position.

To raise the seatback to an upright position, do the
following:
1. Pull up on one of the two levers located on the
rear of the seat near the bottom of either side of
the seat.
2. Push the seatback up until it is in a locked position.
{CAUTION:
If the seatback is not locked, it could move
forward in a sudden stop or crash. That could
cause injury to the person sitting there. Always
push and pull on the seatback to be sure it is
locked.
3. Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is
locked.
Rear Seats
Split Folding Rear Seat
The seatbacks can be folded at so that they are at the
same level as the rear cargo area. This allows more
cargo space.
To lower the rear seatback(s), do the following:
1. Move the front seat forward and/or put the front
seatback in an upright position so it does not
interfere with folding the rear seatback forward.
2. Open the rear door while the vehicle is parked.
3. The rear head restraint may need to be removed to
ensure that it does not interfere with the front seat
when the front seat is moved back in place.
If removed, store the head restraint where it cannot
move while the vehicle is in motion.
Notice:Folding a rear seat with the safety belts
still fastened may cause damage to the seat or the
safety belts. Always unbuckle the safety belts
and return them to their normal stowed position
before folding a rear seat.

To unlatch the belt, push the button on the buckle.
Rear Safety Belt Comfort Guides
Rear shoulder belt comfort guides may provide added
safety belt comfort for older children who have outgrown
booster seats and for some adults. When installed on
a shoulder belt, the comfort guide positions the belt
away from the neck and head.
There is one guide for each outboard passenger
position in the rear seat. Here is how to install a comfort
guide and use the safety belt:
1. Pull the elastic cord out from between the edge of
the seatback and the interior body to remove the
guide from its storage clip.

Storage Areas
Glove Box
Open the glove box by lifting up on the lever.
Close the glove box with a rm push.
Cupholder(s)
There are two cupholders located in the oor console
between the front seats. There is also a cupholder
for the rear seat passenger located at the rear of the
oor console. They can be removed for cleaning.
Instrument Panel Storage Area
Your vehicle has a storage compartment on the
instrument panel above the air vents. Push the button
on the compartment to open the lid.
Floor Console Storage Area
There are two small storage compartments on the oor
console, one at the front under the window switches
and one next to the parking brake lever. The rubber
liners can be removed for cleaning.
Rear Storage Area
Your vehicle may have two rear storage areas that can
be used for the convenience net or other small items.

Outlet Adjustment
Rotate the outlets and move the outlet vanes to change
the direction of the airow and to open and close the
outlets.
Operation Tips

Clear away any ice, snow or leaves from the air
inlets at the base of the windshield that may
block the ow of air into your vehicle.
Use of non-GM approved hood deectors may
adversely affect the performance of the system.
Keep the path under the front seats clear of objects
to help circulate the air inside of your vehicle more
effectively.
Passenger Compartment Air Filter
Passenger compartment air, both outside air and
recirculated air, is routed through a passenger
compartment lter. The lter removes certain particles
from the air, including pollen and dust particles.
Reductions in airow, which may occur more quickly in
dusty areas, indicate that the lter needs to be
replaced early.The lter should be replaced as part of routine
scheduled maintenance. SeeScheduled Maintenance
on page 6-4for replacement intervals. See your
dealer for details on changing the lter. To nd out what
type of lter to use, seeNormal Maintenance
Replacement Parts on page 6-13.
To access the passenger compartment air lter you
must go through the glove box.
1. Open the glove box and remove all articles from the
inside.
2. Release the glove box stops by pushing them both
outward to let the glove box drop open completely.
