Your engine was originally equipped with platinum-tipped spark plugs. Platinum-tipped spark plugs will last longer than conventional type spark plugs and can be identified by bluelines on the ceramic shell. NOTE: Do not clean or regap platinum- tipped spark plugs. G060B03L-EAT
Replacing the Spark Plugs
The spark plugs should be changed at the intervals specified in the ve- hicle maintenance schedule in Sec- tion 5 or whenever engine perfor-mance indicates they should be changed. Symptoms that suggest poor spark plug performance include en-gine misfiring under load, loss of fuel economy, poor acceleration, etc. When spark plugs are replaced, al-ways use spark plugs recommended by Hyundai. The use of other spark plugs can result in loss of perfor-mance, radio interference or engine damage. NOTE:
o When replacing the spark plug, Genuine Hyundai Replacement Parts are recommended. Recommended Spark Plugs:
o It is recommended that spark plugs be changed by anauthorised Hyundai dealer.
WARNING:
It is recommended that the engine
be cool or cold when changing the spark plugs. If the engine is hot, you could burn yourself on theinsulated connector, the spark plug or the engine itself.

CHANGING THE AIR CLEANER FILTER CAUTION:
o Operating your vehicle without a proper air cleaner filter in place can result in excessive enginewear.
o When removing the air cleaner filter, be careful that dust or dirtdoes not enter the air intake. These may result in damage to the air cleaner filter.
The replacement of air cleaner filter isperformed in the following manner.
1. Unsnap the clips around the cover.
2. When this is done, the cover can be lifted off, the old filter removed and the new filter put in its place.
Genuine Hyundai replacement parts are recommended.
HHP5013-E The wiper blades should be carefully inspected from time to time and cleaned to remove accumulations ofroad film or other debris. To clean the wiper blades and arms, use a clean sponge or cloth with a mild soap or detergent and water. If the wipers continue to streak or smear the glass, replace them with genuine Hyundai replacement parts or their equivalent.

The level of windscreen washer fluid available should be checked on a daily basis. The level of fluid will be visiblethrough the side of the reservoir. When the fluid is to be replenished, only a proprietary screen wash additive shouldbe used and in the concentration rec- ommended by the manufacturer. The windscreen washer reservoir has atotal capacity of 4.5 litres.

To install the wiper blade
1. Put a new wiper blade onto the wiper arm and lower the wiper blade at the level of the wiper arm asshown in the drawing. HHR5050
2. Pull up the wiper blade until you

CAUTION:
Engine coolant anti freeze must not be used in the windscreen washersystem since damage to the paintwork may result. Undiluted windscreen washer addi- tive must not be allowed to come into contact with the paintwork. If spillage occurs, flush the affectedarea immediately with water. Do not operate the windscreen washer for more than 15 seconds continu- ously or when the reservoir is empty since damage to the washerpump will result. The transmission lubricant should be
checked and/or changed at intervalsspecified in the maintenance sched-ule. Recommended Lubricant
Use only HYUNDAI GENUINE
PARTS MTF 75W/90 (API GL-4). CAUTION:
The transmission lubricant level
should only be checked when the engine is cold to prelude the pos- sibility of personal injury by con-tact with hot components.
1. To check the transmission lubricant level, the vehicle should be placed on level ground and the level plug removed with a suitable spanner.
2. If the level is correct, lubricant should begin to drip from the plug orifice. In this case the plug shouldbe replaced. If the level is incorrect, lubricantshould be added until it begins todrip from the plug orifice at which time the plug should be replaced.

To Check the Transmission Oil Level
Park the car on level ground with the engine off.
1. Using a wrench of the correct size, loosen the oil filler bolt turning it counterclockwise and remove itwith your fingers. 2. Use your finger to feel inside the
hole. The oil level should be at itsbottom edge. If it is not, check for leaks before adding oil. To refill the transmission or bring the oillevel up, add oil slowly until it reaches the proper level. Do not overfill.
3. Replace the bolt and washer, screw it in with your fingers and thentighten securely with the wrench.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMIS- SION LUBRICANT
G110A04HP-EAT Transmission lubricant should be changed at those intervals specified in the vehicle maintenance schedulein Section 5. NOTE: Basically automatic transmission fluid is red color. As driving dis- tance increases, the fluid colorturns darkish red gradually. It is normal condition and you should not use fluid color as a criterionfor replacing the transmission fluid. You must replace the automatic transmission fluid in accordance with intervals specified in the ve- hicle maintenances schedule insection 5. Recommended Lubricant Use only MOBIL DEXRON-II. Dam- age caused by a nonspecified fluid is not covered by your new vehicle lim-ited warranty.

Transmission Fluid Capacity The fluid capacity of the automatic transmission is 10.5 litres (Petrol En- gine)/ 11.8 litres (Diesel Engine).
To Check the Transmission Fluid Level
2. Remove the transmission dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert the dipstick as far as it will go, then remove it again. Now check the fluid level on the dipstick. It should be in the"HOT" range on the dipstick.
CAUTION:
The transmission fluid level shouldbe checked when the engine is atnormal operating temperature. This means that the engine, radiator, exhaust system etc., are very hotso you should exercise great care not to burn yourself during this procedure. Park the car on level ground with the
parking brake engaged. When thetransmission fluid level is checked, the transmission fluid should be at normal operating temperature and theengine idling.
Whilst the engine is idling, apply the
brakes and move the gear selectorlevel from "P" to each of its other positions — "R", "N", "D", "2", "L" — and then return to "N" or "P". With theengine still idling:
1. Open the bonnet, being careful to keep hands and clothing clear of any moving parts.

3. If the transmission fluid level is low,
use a funnel to add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube until the level reaches the "HOT" range. Do not overfill. WARNING (Diesel only):
Never work on injection system with
engine running or within 30 sec-onds after shutting off engine. Highpressure pump, rail, injectors and high pressure pipes are subject to high pressure even after the enginestopped. The fuel jet produced by fuel leaks may cause serious injury, if it touch the body. People usingpacemakers should not move than 30cm closer to the ECU or wiring harness within the engine roomwhilst engine is running, since the high currents in the Common Rail system produce considerable mag-netic fields.
WARNING:
The electric engine cooling fan au-tomatically switches on and off ac- cording to engine temperature. Be careful to keep away from the fanduring this check as it may switch on at any time. NOTE: Only lint free cloth should be used
for wiping the dipstick. The pres- ence of lint within the transmis- sion may cause problems with the normal function of the transmis-sion. CAUTION:
Correct operation of the brakingsystem is essential to the safe op- eration of the vehicle and there- fore, any maintenance operationsother than those listed below should be entrusted to a Hyundai dealer. SG120C2-E Brake Fluid Recommendations Only brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications or highermay be used in the braking system. Care should be taken to observe the instructions and precautions printedupon the container.
Fluid level should be within "HOT" range
