DTC 13 Short in D Squib Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The D squib circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly, spiral cable and steering wheel pad.
It causes the airbag to deploy when the airbag deployment conditions are satisfied.
For details of the function of each components,see OPERATION on page RS–2.
DTC 13 is recorded when a short is detected in the D squib circuit.

Wire colors are indicated by an alphabetical code.
B = Black, L = Blue, R = Red, BR = Brown,
LG = Light Green, V = Violet, G = Green,
O = Orange, W = White, GR = Gray, P = Pink,
Y = Yellow
The first letter indicates the basic wire color and
the second letter indicates the color of the stripe.

1 Prepare for inspection. (See step 1 on page DI–285 of Pub. No. RM599E)
2 Check curtain shield airbag squib (RH) circuit.
CHECK:
(a) Turn ignition switch to ON.
(b) For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side)
between the curtain shield airbag assembly (RH) and the
airbag sensor assembly, measure the voltage between
ICR+, ICR– and body ground.
OK:
Voltage: 1 V or less
NG Repair or replace harness or connector be-
tween curtain shield airbag assembly (RH) and
airbag sensor assembly.

1 Prepare for inspection. (See step 1 on page DI–285 of Pub. No. RM599E)
2 Check curtain shield airbag squib (RH) circuit.
PREPARATION:
Release airbag activation prevention mechanism of the con-
nector (on the airbag sensor assembly side) between the airbag
sensor assembly and curtain shield airbag assembly (RH).

CHECK:
For the connector (on the airbag sensor side) between the cur-
tain shield airbag (RH) and airbag sensor assembly, measure
the resistance between ICR+ and ICR–.
OK:
Resistance: 1 MΩ or Higher
NG Repair or replace harness or connector be-
tween curtain shield airbag assembly (RH) and
airbag sensor assembly.
