Engine - Intake Manifold Gasket RH
In-vehicle Repair
1. Open the engine compartment and fit paintwork protection
sheets.
2. Disconnect the batt ery ground cable.
Remove the battery cover.
3. WARNING: BEFORE PROCEEDING, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE WARNINGS GIVEN IN SECTION 100-00 (UNDER THE
HEADING 'SAFETY PRECAUTIONS') ARE READ AND
UNDERSTOOD.
Depressurise the fuel system.
Ensure that the ignition is switched off and remove the
valve cap from the fuel cross-over pipe. Place a cloth
under the valve to collect any spillage.
Place a closed container, su itable for collecting fuel,
adjacent to the vehicle. Remove the lid.
4. Connect the fuel injection pres sure test equipment 310 - 058
(or other suitable type). Insert the drain / bleed tube into the
fuel container. Follow the ma nufacturer's instructions and
depressurise the fuel system.
5. Store the drained fuel safely and ensure that the lid is closed
securely. Remove the equipmen t and discard the cloth from
beneath the valve. refit the valve cap.
6. Drain the radiator coolant. Refer to Operation 26.10.01.
7. Disconnect the breather pipe fro m the A-Bank camshaft cover.
1. Disconnect the breather pipe from the stub pipe.
2. Remove and discard the O-ring seal from the breather
pipe.

8. Disconnect the air fl ow meter multi-plug.
9. Cut and remove the strap which secures the vacuum pipe to
the induction elbow.
10. Disconnect the intake tube from the throttle body.
1. Remove the two bolts which secure the intake tube to the throttle body.
2. Disconnect the intake tube from the throttle body.
11. Disconnect the air cleaner cover.
Remove the five clips which se cure the air cleaner cover.
12. Remove the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner cover
assembly.
1. Remove the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner
cover assembly.
2. Remove and discard the ru bber seal; air intake tube
to throttle body.
13. Remove the throttle housing. Refer to Operation 19.70.04.
14. Remove the throttle inductio n elbow. Refer to Operation

15. Remove the supercharger outlet duct and gasket. Refer to
Operation 18.50.17.
16. Remove the coolant output pipe. Refer to Operation (SC)
26.31.08.
17. Remove the supercharger driv e belt. Refer to Operation
18.50.08.
18. Remove the supercharger as sembly. Refer to operation
18.50.15.
19. Remove the A-Bank intercooler. Refer to Operation 18.50.18.
20. Disconnect the fuel injector harness.
1. Disconnect the multi-plugs from the A-Bank injectors.
2. Loosen, do not remove, the nuts which secure the
harness to the camshaft cover.
3. Reposition the harness for access.
21. Remove the fuel rail.
1. Remove the three bolts whic h secure the fuel rail to
the intercooler adaptor.
2. Remove the fuel rail from the adaptor; still connected
to the fuel crossover pipe and fuel return pipe.
22. Remove the intercoole r adaptor assembly.
1. Remove and discard the seals from the fuel rail.
2. Remove the five bolts which secure the adaptor
assembly to the cylinder head.
3. Remove the adaptor assembly from the cylinder head.
Remove the gasket; adaptor assembly to cylinder head.
23. Clean and inspect all relevant mating faces.
1. Fit the intercooler adaptor assembly.
1. Fit a new gasket; adaptor assembly to cylinder head.
2. Align and fit the adaptor assembly to the cylinder head.

3. Fit the five bolts which secure the adaptor assembly to the cylinder head.
4. Fit new seals to the fuel rail.
2. Fit the fuel rail to the intercooler adaptor.
1. Align the fuel rail to the adaptor; still connected to the fuel crossover pipe and fuel return pipe. Locate
the fuel rail into the adaptor.
2. Fit the three bolts which secure the fuel rail to the adaptor.
3. Connect the fuel injector harness.
1. Reposition the harness.
2. Tighten the nuts which secure the harness to the
camshaft cover.
3. Connect the multi-plugs to the A-Bank injectors.
4. Fit the A-Bank intercooler. Refer to Operation 18.50.18.
5. Fit the supercharger assembly. Refer to operation 18.50.15.
6. Fit the supercharger drive belt . Refer to Operation 18.50.08.
7. Fit the coolant output pipe. Refer to Operation 26.31.08.
8. Fit the throttle induction elbow. Refer to Operation 19.70.28.
9. Fit the throttle housing. Refer to Operation 19.70.04.
10. Fit the supercharger outlet duct and gasket. Refer to
Operation 18.50.17.
11. Fit the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner cover
assembly.
1. Fit a new rubber seal; air in take tube to throttle body.
2. Fit the intake tube / air flow meter / air cleaner cover
assembly.

12. Reconnect the air cleaner cover.
Fit the five clips which secu re the air cleaner cover.
13. Connect the intake tube to the throttle body.
1. Connect the intake tube to the throttle body.
2. Fit the two bolts which secure the intake tube to the throttle body.
14. Reconnect the air flow meter multi-plug.
15. Fit a new strap to secure the vacuum pipe to the induction
elbow.
16. Connect the breather pipe to the A-Bank camshaft cover.
1. Fit a new O-ring seal to the breather pipe.
2. Reconnect the breather pipe to the stub pipe.
17. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Operation (SC) (26.10.01).
18. Connect the battery and fit the battery cover.

Engine - Oil Pan

Removal
Installation
1. Open the engine compartment and fit paintwork protection
sheets.
2. Raise the vehicle on a ramp.
3. Drain the engine oil.
1. Position the waste oil bowser.
2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine
oil.
Wipe the drain plug and refit it, to prevent oil dripping.
Move the oil bowser away from the vehicle.
4. Remove the oil pan.
1. Remove the eighteen bolt s which secure the oil pan
to the oil pan body.
2. Remove the oil pan from the oil pan body.
3. Remove the gasket from the oil pan body assembly.
5. Clean and inspect the sealing faces on the oil pan body
assembly.
Clean and inspect the new oil pan mating face.
1. Fit the oil pan gasket to the oil pan body assembly.
Insert the seal into the locating positions in the groove,
working around from a corner.
Press in the remainder of th e seal, following the same
procedure.
2. Fit the oil pan to the oil pan body.
1. Position and align the oil pan.
2. Fit, but do not tighten, all eighteen bolts which secure
the oil pan.

Engine - Oil Pan Gasket

Removal
Installation
1. Open the engine compartment and fit paintwork protection
sheets.
2. Raise the vehicle on a ramp.
3. Drain the engine oil.
1. Position the waste oil bowser.
2. Remove the drain plug and drain the engine oil.
Fit a new sealing washer to the drain plug.
Wipe the drain plug and refit it to the oil pan to prevent oil
dripping.
Move the oil bowser away from the vehicle.
4. Remove the oil pan.
1. Remove the eighteen bolt s which secure the oil pan.
2. Remove the oil pan.
3. Remove the gasket.
5. Clean and inspect the sealing face s on the oil pan. and mating
faces.
1. Fit the oil pan gasket to the cylinder block adaptor body.
Insert the seal into the locating positions in the groove,
working around from a corner.
Press in the remainder of th e seal, following the same
procedure.
2. Fit the oil pan.
1. Position and align the oil pan.
2. Fit, but do not tighten, all eighteen bolts which secure
the oil pan.

Removal
Installation
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove the battery cover.
2. Remove the engine compartment cover (bonnet) for improved
access to the fro nt of the engine. Refer to Operation 76.16.01.
3. Remove the Crankshaft Sprocket B-Bank. Refer to Operation
12.65.76.
4. Remove the oil pump.
1. Remove the four bolts which secure the oil pump to the cylinder block.
2. Remove the oil pump.
3. Remove the gasket.
5. Clean and inspect all compon ents and mating faces.
1. Fit the oil pump to the cylinder block.
1. Fit a new gasket to the block face.
2. Fit the oil pump onto the front of the crankshaft, to
the block face; ensure that the drive flats on the
