Improperly tightened wheel nuts can lead to
brake pulsation and rotor damage,
To avoid
expensive brake repairs, evenly tighten the wheel
nuts in the proper sequence and
to the proper
torque specification.
Don't try to put a wheel cover on your compact spare
tire.
It won't fit. Store the wheel cover and wheel nut
caps
in the trunk until you have the flat tire repaired
or replaced.
I NOTICE:
Wheel covers won't fit on your compact spare. If
you try to put a wheel cover on your compact
spare, you could damage the cover or the spare.
Storing the Flat Tire and Tools

Storing a jack, a tire or other equipment in the
passenger compartment
of the vehicle could
cause injury, In a sudden stop or collision, loose
equipment could strike someone. Store all these
in the proper place.
Store the jack and wheel wrench in the foam tray. Place
the foam tray
in the spare tire compartment. Store the
flat tire in the compact spare tire compartment. Place the
tire in the compartment, then secure the adapter and
wing nut.

Inspect the throttle system for interference or binding,
and for damaged or missing parts. Replace parts as
needed. Replace any components that have high effort
or excessive wear.
Do not lubricate accelerator and
cruise control cables.
Brake System Inspection
Inspect the complete system. Inspect brake lines and
hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks,
chafing, etc. Inspect disc brake pads for wear and rotors
for surface condition. Also inspect drum brake linings
for wear and cracks. Inspect other brake parts, including
drums, wheel cylinders, calipers, parking brake, etc. The
parking brake is self-adjusting and no manual
adjustment is required. You may need
to have your
brakes inspected more often if your driving habits
or
conditions result in frequent braking.
