Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine This light should come on briefly as you start the
vehicle. If it doesn’t come on then, have it fixed
so it
will be ready to warn you if there’s a problem. If this
warning light stays
on, there could be a brake problem.
Have your brake system inspected right away.
If the light comes on while you are driving, pull off the
road and stop carefully. You may notice that the pedal is
harder
to push. Or, the pedal may go closer to the floor.
It may take longer to stop. If the light is still on, have the
vehicle towed for service. (See “Towing Your Vehicle”
in the Index.)
Parking Brake Indicator Light
This light will come on
when you set your parking
brake, and it will stay on if
your parking brake doesn’t
release fully.
This light should also come on briefly as you start the
vehicle. If
it doesn’t come on then, have it fixed so it
will
be ready to remind you if the parking brake hasn’t
released fully.

Engine Soon Light)
SERVICE
0
SOON
I
A computer monitors
operation
of your fuel,
ignition and emission
control systems. This amber
light should come on when
the ignition is on, but the
engine is not running, as a
check to show you it is
working.
If it does not come
on at all, have it fixed right away. If
it stays on, or it comes on while you are driving, the
computer is indicating that you have
a problem. You
should take your vehicle in for service soon.
NOTICE:
If you keep driving your vehicle with this light on,
after
a while the emission controls won’t work as
well, your fuel economy won’t be as good and your
engine may not
run as smoothly. This could lead to
costly repairs not covered by your warranty.
Engine Oil Pressure Gauge
-1
OIL
PRESS
PSI
The engine oil pressure gauge shows the engine
oil pressure in psi (pounds per square inch) or
kPa (kilopascals) when the engine is running. Oil
pressure should be
20 to 80 psi (140 to 550 Ea). It
may vary with engine speed, outside temperature and oil
viscosity, but readings above the shaded area show the
normal operating range. Readings in the shaded area tell
you that the engine is low on oil, or that you might have
some other oil problem. See “Engine Oil” in the Index.

failure to perform this maintenance item will not nullify
the emission warranty or limit recall liability prior to the

7,500 miles (12 500 km) or 12 months without an oil
change.
The system won’t detect dust in the oil.
So if you
drive in a dusty area be sure to change your oil every
3,000 miles (5 000 km) or sooner if the CHANGE OIL
light comes on. Remember to reset the Oil Life Monitor
