If the inflation pressure of each tire
is still not displayed, have the vehi-
cle inspected by your Toyota dealer.
Every tire pressure warning
valve and transmitter has a
unique ID code. When replacing
a tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter, it is necessary
to register the ID code.
When registering the ID codes,
perform the following procedure.
With 4.2-inch display
1 Park the vehicle in a safe
place, wait for approximately
20 minutes, and then start
the hybrid system.
2 Press or of the meter
control switches on the steer-
ing wheel and select .
3 Press or of the meter
control switches and select “Vehicle Settings”, and then
press and hold “OK”.
4 Press or of the meter
control switches and select
“TPWS Setting”, and then
press “OK”.
5 Press or of the meter
control switches and select
“Identifying Each Wheel &
Position”. Then press and
hold “OK” until the tire pres-
sure warning light starts
slowly blinking 3 times.
The change wheel set mode is acti-
vated and registra tion is started.
Then a message will be displayed
on the multi-information display.
When registration is being per-
formed, the tire pressure warning
light will blink for approximately 1

set. You can register a second
wheel set by yourself or your
Toyota dealer.
After registration of a second
wheel set, either of these two
wheel sets can be selected for
usage with the tire pressure
warning system.
■Operating conditions for
the function
This function will perform the
change of wheel set only if a
second wheel set has been
registered. If no second wheel
set has been registered, no
change will be made when
selecting this function in the
menu.
Only a change between both
registered wheel set is possi-
ble, mixing between these
wheel sets is not supported.
■How to change between
wheel sets
1 Have the vehicle fitted with
the preferred wheel set.

inflation pressure and tire size
are displayed on the tire and
loading information label.
(P.523) Tire valve
Tire pressure gauge
1 Remove the tire valve cap.
2 Press the tip of the tire pres-
sure gauge onto the tire
valve.
3 Read the pressure using the
gauge gradations.
4 If the tire inflation pressure is
not at the recommended
level, adjust the pressure. If
you add too much air, press
the center of the valve to
deflate.
5 After completing the tire infla-
tion pressure measurement
and adjustment, apply soapy
water to the valve and check
for leakage.
6 Put the tire valve cap back
on.
■Tire inflation pressure check
interval
You should check tire inflation pres-
sure every two week s, or at least
once a month.
Tire inflation pressure
Make sure to maintain the
proper tire inflation pres-
sure. Tire inflation pressure
should be checked at least
once per month. However,
Toyota recommends that
tire inflation pressure be
checked once every two
weeks. ( P.523)

when
In some situations such as when the
vehicle is used frequently or in
heavy traffic or dusty areas, the air
intake vents may need to be
cleaned more regularly.
For details, refer to “Scheduled
Maintenance Guide” or “Owner’s
Manual Supplement”.
■Cleaning the air intake vents
Improper handling of the air intake
vent covers and filt ers may result in
damage to them. If you have any
concerns about cleaning the filters,
contact your Toyota dealer.
NOTICE
■When using the air condition-
ing system
Make sure that a filter is always
installed. Using the air condition-
ing system without a filter may
cause damage to the system.
■When removing the glove box
Always follow the specified proce-
dure to remove the glove box
( P.438). If the glove box is
removed without following the
specified procedure, the hinge of
the glove box may become dam-
aged.
■To prevent damage to the fil-
ter cover
When moving the filter cover in
the direction of arrow to release
the fitting, pay attention not to
apply excessive force to the
claws. Otherwise, the claws may
be damaged.
Cleaning the hybrid
battery (traction bat-
tery) air intake vents
To prevent the fuel econ-
omy from being affected,
visually inspect the hybrid
battery (traction battery) air
intake vents periodically for
clogs.
If they are dusty or clogged
or if “Maintenance Required
for Traction Battery Cooling
Parts See Owner’s Manual”
is displayed on the multi-
information display, clean
the air intake vents using
the following procedures:

1Turn the power switch off.
2 Using a Phillips screwdriver,
remove the clip.
3 Remove the air intake vent
cover.
Pull the cover as shown in the illus-
tration to disengage the claws,
starting from the claw in the upper
right corner and pull the cover
toward the front of the vehicle to remove it.

Remove the filter from the air
intake vent cover.
Disengage the 3 center claws from
the filter.
If dust has accumula ted on the air
intake vent cover, remove the dust
with a vacuum cleaner, etc.
5 Remove the dust and sand
from the filter.
Using a vacuum cleaner, etc.,
absorb dust and sand from the filter
by profiling the nozzle lightly along
the fold.
NOTICE

displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display
Clean the air intake vents immedi-
ately.
If the vehicle is continuously
driven with the warning message
displayed, it may cause a mal-
function or output restriction of the
hybrid battery (tr action battery).

7 Reinstall the filter to the
cover.
Engage the 3 center claws to install
the filter.

cover.

It may take appro ximately 20 min-
utes after the hybrid system is
started until the warning message

If the warning message does not
disappear after some time, have
the vehicle inspected by your
Toyota dealer.
■If the dust or sand on the filter
cannot be removed
It is recommended to use a vacuum
cleaner with plastic brushes.
