Service indicator
(BlueHDi)
Engine oil quality
These warning lamps light up and a message is displayed at each
start: the system has detected a deterioration of
the engine oil.
It is essential to change the oil as soon as

Resetting the service
indicator
A qualified workshop, equipped with the
diagnostic tool, will stop the permanent lighting
of the warning lamps after each service.
If you have serviced the vehicle yourself, reset
the service indicator as follows:
►
Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn
it to the
3-Ignition
position.
or
►
Press the "
START/STOP" button.
►
In both cases, simultaneously depress the
brake and accelerator pedals for more than
15
seconds.
Refer to the checklist in the
Manufacturer's service schedule
provided on delivery of the vehicle.
AdBlue® range indicators
(BlueHDi)
The Diesel BlueHDi engines are equipped with
a system that associates the SCR (Selective
Catalytic Reduction) emissions control system
and the Diesel particle filter (DPF) for the
treatment of exhaust gases. They cannot
function without AdBlue
® fluid.
When the level of AdBlue® falls below the
reserve level (between 1,500 and 0 miles (2,400
and 0
km)), a warning lamp lights up when
the ignition is switched on and an estimate
of the distance that can be travelled before
engine starting is prevented is displayed in the
instrument panel.
The engine starting prevention system required by regulations is activated
automatically once the AdBlue
® tank is empty.
It is then no longer possible to start the
engine until the minimum level of AdBlue
® has
been topped up.
Manual display of driving
range
While the driving range is greater than
1,500 miles (2,400 km), it is not displayed
automatically.
► From the " vehicle" tab, move the knob up
or down to successively display the different
windows and access to the driving range
information.
Actions required related to a lack of AdBlue
®
The following warning lamps light up when the
quantity of AdBlue® is below the reserve level:
driving range of 1,500 miles (2,400 km).
Together with the warning lamps, messages
regularly remind you of the need to top up to
avoid engine starting being prevented. Refer to
the Warning and indicator lamps section for
details of the messages displayed.

Access
From inside
► Pull the interior opening control of a door; this
unlocks the vehicle completely .
With selective unlocking activated:
– Opening the driver's door unlocks
the driver's door only (if the vehicle has not
already been completely unlocked).
–
Opening one of the passenger doors
unlocks the rest of the vehicle.
Closing
If a door is not properly closed, a message is
displayed on the instrument panel if the engine
is running, accompanied by an audible signal
when the vehicle is travelling at more than 12
mph (20
km/h).
Tailgate
Safety recommendations
Never drive with the tailgate down.
Ensure that there are no people or
obstacles present (on the ground and higher
up) when unloading.
Never place your hands near the bracket
when handling the tailgate, there is a risk of
trapping your fingers.
The loading bay tailgate is heavy, open it
carefully.
Observe the payload indicated on the
manufacturer's label present on the vehicle.
Regularly check that the suspensions are in
good condition and that the tyres are inflated
to the recommended pressure.
Spread the load evenly in the loading bay.
Opening to 90°
► Depending on version, unlock the tailgate
with the dedicated key .
►
Pull the opening handle then lower the
tailgate, supporting it until it is held in place by
the retaining brackets.
The maximum load on the tailgate is 100 kg. A heavier load could damage the
brackets.
Opening to 180°
Depending on version, it is possible to increase
the opening angle to around 180°.
►
After opening the tailgate, raise the tailgate
slightly by pulling the brackets in the opposite
direction of operation.
►
When the position is obtained, remove the
brackets from their shaft on both sides of the
tailgate.
Closing
► Raise the tailgate until the locks latch into

If the interior temperature is very high
after the vehicle has stood for a long
time in the sunshine, air the passenger
compartment for a few moments.
Put the air flow control at a setting high
enough to quickly change the air in the
passenger compartment.
Condensation created by the air
conditioning results in a discharge of
water underneath the vehicle. This is perfectly
normal.
Servicing the ventilation and air
conditioning system
►
Ensure that the passenger compartment
filter is in good condition and have the filter
elements replaced regularly
.
We recommend using a composite passenger
compartment filter. Its specific active additive
helps protect against polluting gases and bad
smells.

o ensure correct operation of the
air conditioning system, have it checked
according to the recommendations in the
Manufacturer’s service schedule.
Heating
Manual air conditioning
1. Temperature.
2. Air flow/System switch-off.
3. Air distribution.
4. Interior air recirculation.
5. Front demisting/de-icing on/off.
6. Demisting/de-icing of rear screen and door
mirrors on/off (depending on version).
7. Air conditioning on/off.
8. Maximum air conditioning.
The air conditioning system only operates with
the engine running.
Temperature
► Turn the thumbwheel 1 from "Blue" (cold)
to "Red" (hot) to adjust the temperature to your
requirements.
Air flow
► Turn the thumbwheel 2 to obtain a sufficient
air flow to ensure your comfort.
If the air flow control is in
the minimum position (system
deactivated), the temperature in the vehicle
will no longer be controlled. A slight flow of air
can still be felt, due to the forward movement
of the vehicle.
Air distribution
► Press one of the buttons 3 to direct the air
flow in turn towards:
–
windscreen, side windows and footwells,
–
central and side vents,
–
footwells,
–
central vents, side vents and footwells.
The air distribution can be adapted by combining
the corresponding buttons.
Air conditioning on/off
The air conditioning system is designed to
operate effectively in all seasons, with the
windows closed:
–
It lowers the temperature in summer
.
–
It increases the effectiveness of the demisting,
in winter
, above 3°C.

Automatic operation of hazard warning lamps
When braking in an emergency, depending on
the rate of deceleration, the hazard warning
lamps come on automatically. They switch off
automatically when you next accelerate.
They can be switched off by pressing the button.
Horn
► Press the central part of the steering wheel.
Electronic stability control
(ESC)
(Depending on version)
The electronic stability control programme
includes the following systems:
–
Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic
brake force distribution (EBFD).
–
Emergency braking assistance (EBA).
–
Anti-slip regulation (ASR).
–
Dynamic stability control (DSC).
–

railer stability assist (TSA).
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)/Electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD)
These systems enhance the vehicle’s stability
and handling during braking, and enable greater
control while cornering, particularly on poor or
slippery road surfaces.
ABS prevents wheel locking in the event of
emergency braking.
Electronic brake force distribution (EBFD)
manages overall braking pressure on each
individual wheel.
►
When braking in an emergency
, depress
the pedal very firmly and maintain this
pressure.
Normal operation of the ABS may make
itself felt by slight vibrations of the brake
pedal.
The fixed illumination of this warning lamp signals that there is a fault with the ABS.
The vehicle retains conventional braking. Drive
carefully at a moderate speed.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
This warning lamp, when lit together with the STOP and ABS warning lamps,
accompanied by a message and an audible
signal, indicates an EBFD malfunction.
You must stop the vehicle.
Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off
the ignition.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop.
When changing wheels (tyres and rims),
ensure that these are approved for your
vehicle.
After an impact
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer
or a qualified workshop.
Emergency braking
assistance (EBA)
This system reduces the emergency stopping
distance, by optimising the braking pressure.
It is triggered in relation to the speed at which
the brake pedal is depressed. The effect of this
is a reduction in the resistance of the pedal and
an increase in braking efficiency.
Anti-slip regulation (ASR) / Dynamic stability control
(DSC)
Anti-slip regulation (or traction control) optimises
traction by using engine braking and by applying
the brakes on the driving wheels to avoid one
or more wheels spinning. It also enhances the
vehicle's directional stability. CarM an uals 2 .c o m

5In the event that a wheel has poor grip, anti-slip
regulation brakes the spinning wheel and returns
the engine torque to the wheel that has the best
grip in order to prevent being bogged down.
If there is a difference between the vehicle’s
trajectory and the path desired by the driver, the
dynamic stability control system automatically
uses engine braking and the brakes on one or
more wheels to return the vehicle to the desired
path, within the limits of the laws of physics.
These systems are activated automatically every
time the vehicle is started.
These systems are activated in the event of a problem with grip or trajectory
(confirmed by this warning lamp flashing on the
instrument panel).
Deactivation/Reactivation
In exceptional conditions (e.g. starting a vehicle
which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on soft
ground, etc.), it may be advisable to deactivate
the ASR and DSC systems, so that the wheels
can turn freely and regain grip.
Reactivate the systems as soon as the level of
grip permits.
► Press this button for approximately 5 seconds
to deactivate the functions (reactivated by a
single press).
Deactivation is confirmed by the
illumination of this indicator lamp in the
instrument panel and the display of a message.
The ASR and DSC systems reactivate
automatically after the ignition has been
switched off.
Malfunction
In the event of a malfunction, this warning
lamp lights up on the instrument panel,
accompanied by the display of a message and
an audible signal.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
ASR/DSC
These systems enhance safety during
normal driving, but should not encourage
the driver to take extra risks or drive at high
speed.
It is in conditions of reduced grip (rain, snow,
ice) that the risk of loss of grip increases. It
is therefore important for your safety to keep
these systems activated in all conditions, and
particularly in difficult conditions.
Correct operation of these systems depends
on compliance with the manufacturer's
recommendations relating to the wheels
(tyres and rims), braking and electronic
components, as well as the assembly and
repair procedures provided by PEUGEOT
dealers.
In order to ensure that these systems remain
effective in wintry conditions, the use of snow
or all-season tyres is recommended. All four
wheels must be fitted with tyres approved for
your vehicle.
All tyre specifications are listed on the
tyre/paint label. For more information
on Identification markings , refer to the
corresponding section.
Trailer stability assist (TSA)
When towing, this system reduces the risk of the
vehicle or trailer snaking.
Operation
The system is activated automatically when the
ignition is switched on.
The system does not operate whenever the ASR
and DSC systems are deactivated. CarM an uals 2 .c o m

The electronic stability control system (ESC)
must not have any faults.
The vehicle speed must be less than
approximately 53 mph (85 km/h).
If the system detects that the trailer is
snaking, it applies the brakes to stabilise
the trailer and reduces engine power, if
necessary, to slow the vehicle (indicated by the
flashing of this warning lamp on the instrument
panel and the brake lamps coming on).
For information on weights and towed loads,
refer to the Engine technical data and towed
loads section or your vehicle’s registration
certificate.
To ensure safe driving with a Towing device,
refer to the corresponding section.
Malfunction
If a fault occurs, this warning lamp lights
up on the instrument panel, accompanied
by a message and an audible signal.
To continue towing a trailer, reduce speed and
drive carefully!
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
The trailer stability control system provides an extra safety feature under
normal driving conditions, when following the
recommendations for use of trailers and
current legislation in force in your country. It
must not encourage the driver to take extra
risks, such as using a trailer in unsuitable
conditions of operation (e.g. excessive load,
exceeded nose weight, worn or under-inflated
tyres, faulty braking system) or driving at
excessive speed.
In certain cases, the system may not detect
trailer snaking, particularly with a light trailer
.
When driving on slippery or poor surfaces, the
system may not be able to prevent sudden
trailer snaking.
Hill Assist Descent
Control
Hill Assist Descent Control system for steep
slopes and on road surfaces with poor grip
(e.g.
gravel, mud).
This system reduces the risk of loss of control
or slipping of the vehicle when descending in
forward gear.
During a descent, the system assists the driver
in maintaining a constant speed, depending on
the gear engaged, while progressively releasing
the brakes.
For the system to activate, the gradient
must be greater than 5%.
The system can be used with the gearbox in
neutral.
Otherwise, engage a gear corresponding to
the speed to prevent the engine stalling.
With an automatic gearbox, the system can
be used with the selector at
N
or D.
The system is no longer available and no longer active if the speed of the vehicle is
above 22 mph (35
km/h).
Switching on
By default, the system is not selected.
The state of the function is not saved when the
ignition is switched off.
The driver can select the system when the
engine is running, when the vehicle is stationary
or when moving at speeds up to approximately
31 mph (50
km/h).
► To select the system, press this button
until this green indicator lamp lights up on
the instrument panel.
The system becomes active at speeds between
5 and 22 mph
(8 and 35 km/h).
►
When the vehicle begins its descent, the
driver can release the accelerator and brake
pedals; the system regulates the speed:
– If the gearbox is in first or second gear ,
the speed decreases and the
indicator
