Remotely Stopping the Vehicle
Within three seconds, press thebutton on the remote control.

EXTENDING THE REMOTE START
DURATION
To extend the remote start duration duringremote start, do the following:
Press the button on the remotecontrol.
Within three seconds, press thebutton on the remote control.
Within three seconds, press thebutton again.
If the duration is set to 15 minutes, theduration extends by another 15 minutes. Thisprovides a total of 30 minutes.
Note:Remote start can only be extendedonce.
Note:A maximum of two remote starts, orone remote start with an extension, areallowed. To reset the restart procedureswitch the vehicle to on, then to off.

WHAT IS THE MEMORY FUNCTION
The driver seat memory function recalls theposition of these features:
•Driver seat.
•Power mirrors.
•Power steering column.
•Power adjustable foot pedals.
The passenger seat memory function recallsthe position of the passenger seat.

Note:You can recall a preset memoryposition when the ignition is off, or when youplace the transmission in park (P) or neutral(N) if the ignition is on and the vehicle is notmoving.
Note:Pressing any of the preset buttons orany memory feature control during a memoryrecall cancels the operation.
You can also recall a preset memory positionby:
•Pressing the unlock button on yourremote control if you linked it to a presetposition.
•Unlocking the intelligent driver doorhandle if a linked remote control ispresent.
•Recalling a personal profile in your SYNCmenu.
Using a linked remote control to recall yourmemory position when the ignition is offmoves the seat and steering column to theeasy entry position.
To recall a preset position on the passengerdoor, press and release the preset button.The passenger seat features move to theposition stored for that preset. You can recalla passenger seat preset memory at any time.

POWER OUTLET INDICATORS
The power outlet indicator illuminates to letyou know the status of the system.
DescriptionIndicator Status
When the indicatorlight is on, the outletis providing power.
On
When the indicatorlight is off, there isno power to theoutlet.
Off
When the indicatorlight is flashing, theoutlet is in a faultmode.
Flashing
Fault mode
The power outlet temporarily turns off powerif the device exceeds the watt limit.
1.Unplug your device.
2.Switch your vehicle off to let the systemcool and reset the fault mode.
3.Switch your vehicle back on, but do notplug your device back in.
4.With your vehicle on, make sure theindicator light remains on.
5.Make sure your device does not exceedthe power limits and then plug in yourdevice.
Note:If a fault occurs again, your devicemay exceed the capacity available from thepower outlet.

HOW DOES AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP WORK
Automatic engine stop turns the engine off.The ignition also turns off in order to savebattery power. Before the engine shutsdown, a message appears in the informationdisplay showing a timer counting down. Ifyou do not intervene within 30 seconds, theengine shuts down. Another messageappears in the information display to informyou that the engine has shut down in orderto save fuel. Start your vehicle as younormally do.
SWITCHING AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP ON AND OFF
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Switch 30min Max Idle on or off.
Note:You cannot permanently switch off theautomatic shutdown. If you switch it off, itturns on each time you switch the ignitionon.
OVERRIDING AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP
You can stop the engine shutdown, or resetthe timer, at any point before the 30-secondcountdown has expired by doing any of thefollowing:
•Pressing the brake pedal or acceleratorpedal.
•Pressing the OK or RESET button duringthe countdown.
Note: You cannot permanently switch offthe automatic engine shutdown feature. When you switch it off temporarily, it turnson at the next ignition cycle.
ACCESSING THE PASSIVE KEY
BACKUP POSITION
If you are unable to start your vehicle, do thefollowing:
1.Access the backup slot.
2.With the buttons facing the front of yourvehicle, place the passive key into thebackup slot.
3.With the key in this position, press thebrake pedal, then press the push buttonignition switch to switch the ignition onand start your vehicle.

FUEL AND REFUELING – WARNINGLAMPS
If it illuminates when you aredriving, refuel as soon as possible.
FUEL AND REFUELING –INFORMATION MESSAGES
Refueling System Warning
If the fuel tank filler valve does not fully close,a message could appear in the instrumentcluster display.
Message
Check Fuel Fill Inlet
If the message appears, do the following:
1.Stop your vehicle as soon as it is safe todo so and switch the engine off.
2.Shift into park (P) or neutral (N).
3.Apply the parking brake.
4.Fully open the fuel filler door.
5.Check the fuel tank filler valve for anydebris that may be restricting itsmovement.
6.Remove any debris from the fuel tankfiller valve.
7.Fully insert a fuel pump nozzle or the fuelfiller funnel provided with your vehicleinto the fuel filler pipe. See Locating theFuel Filler Funnel (page 212). This actionshould dislodge any debris that may bepreventing the fuel tank filler valve fromfully closing.
8.Remove the fuel pump nozzle or fuel fillerfunnel from the fuel filler pipe.
9.Fully close the fuel filler door.
Note:The message may not immediatelyreset. If the message continues to appearand a warning lamp illuminates, have yourvehicle checked as soon as possible.
