WHAT IS THE LOW FUEL REMINDER
A low fuel level reminder displays andsounds when the distance to empty reaches50 mi (80 km), 25 mi (40 km), 12 mi (20 km)and 0 mi (0 km) for all vehicle keys.
Note:The low fuel reminder can appear atdifferent fuel gauge positions depending onfuel economy conditions. This variation isnormal.
VEHICLE RANGE DISPLAY
Displays the approximate range your vehiclecan travel with the energy currently onboard.Estimates vary based on the energy usedwhen driving.
Changes in driving pattern can cause thevalues to not only decrease but also increaseor stay constant for periods of time.
The amount of energy being used whendriving is affected by:
•Mild or aggressive acceleration orbraking.
•Your vehicle's speed.
•Use of accessories, such as climatecontrol.
•Ambient temperature and weatherconditions.
•Driving in a city or on a highway.
•Driving on hilly road conditions.
•Towing.
Note:It is normal for vehicle range estimatesto vary due to changes in average energyusage. This could cause different rangeestimates each time you fully charge yourbattery or fill your tank.
Note:Electric range is lower in coldtemperatures due to reduced energycapacity in the high voltage battery. Set adeparture time and cabin temperature tomaintain battery temperature for best rangeand performance. See What is a HybridElectric Vehicle (page 213). See Setting theCharging Schedule and Preferences (page250).

HOW DOES THE ENGINE BLOCKHEATER WORK
The engine block heater warms the enginecoolant. This allows the climate controlsystem to quickly respond. The equipmentincludes a heater element installed in theengine block and a wire harness. You canconnect the system to a grounded 110 voltAC electrical source.
Note:The engine block heater is mosteffective when outdoor temperatures arebelow 0°F (-18°C). We recommend the useof engine block heater to improve enginecold start performance.
USING THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER
Make sure the receptacle terminals are cleanand dry prior to use. Clean them with a drycloth if necessary.
The heater uses 0.4 to 1.0 kilowatt-hours ofenergy per hour of use. The system does nothave a thermostat. It achieves maximumtemperature after approximately three hoursof operation. Using the engine block heaterlonger than three hours does not improvesystem performance and unnecessarily useselectricity.
STOPPING THE ENGINE

Why does my engine stay on when it isextremely cold outside?
In order to make sure that the climatecontrol system can begin heating thecabin or defrosting the windshield assoon as a driver requests it, the enginecoolant temperature has to be keptsufficiently hot. Keeping the engine onis required to maintain the correctcoolant temperature.
PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE
INFORMATION
WHAT IS A PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRICVEHICLE
A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle combines agasoline engine with an electric motor andrechargeable high voltage battery allowingyou to use only electricity to power yourvehicle.
HOW DOES A PLUG-IN HYBRIDELECTRIC VEHICLE WORK
Charging your vehicle adds electrical energythat propels the vehicle, providing extendedelectric-only driving range. System conditionscould require the engine to operate whileelectric-only range is still available. When theelectric range reaches zero, the powertrainsystem operates as a hybrid electric vehicle.See How Does a Hybrid Electric VehicleWork (page 213).
PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLEDRIVING CHARACTERISTICS
Your plug-in hybrid vehicle shares the drivingcharacteristics of hybrid electric vehicles withthe addition of extended electric- only drivingrange and unique selectable drive modes.See Hybrid Electric Vehicle DrivingCharacteristics (page 213).
The system maximizes the use ofelectric-only operation in normal drive mode.System conditions could require the engineto operate, however, the system uses theavailable electric range whenever possible.
In Pure EV drive mode, your vehicle typicallyuses only electric power. The engineoperates to provide extra power when youfully press the accelerator pedal. Systemconditions may also require the engine tooperate.
Preserve EV drive mode saves the electricrange for later use. If you select this modeand the battery is at full or near full charge,it uses some electric-only range to dischargethe battery. This allows the regenerativebraking system to fully operate. If batterycharge is low when this mode is selected theengine charges the high voltage battery toprovide some electric range for later.
Other drive modes use electric power asnecessary to deliver the selected drive modeexperience. See What Is Drive ModeControl (page 338).
PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLEINDICATORS
When you start your vehicle, agreen ready indicator light appearsin the instrument cluster letting youknow that your vehicle is ready for driving.

maintain high-speed operation, and maycompletely shut down without warning, potentially losing engine power, powersteering assist, and power brake assist, which may increase the possibility of acrash resulting in serious injury.
WARNING: Do not remove thecoolant reservoir cap when the engine ison or the cooling system is hot. Wait 10minutes for the cooling system to cooldown. Cover the coolant reservoir cap witha thick cloth to prevent the possibility ofscalding and slowly remove the cap.Failure to follow this instruction could resultin personal injury.
Continued operation increases the enginetemperature, causing the engine tocompletely shut down. Your steering andbraking effort increases in this situation.
When the engine temperature cools, you canre-start the engine. Have your vehiclechecked as soon as possible to minimizeengine damage.
Your vehicle has limited engine power whenin the fail-safe mode, drive your vehicle withcaution. Your vehicle does not maintainhigh-speed operation and the engine mayoperate poorly.
Remember that the engine is capable ofautomatically shutting down to preventengine damage. In this situation:
1.Pull off the road as soon as safelypossible and switch the engine off.
2.If you are a member of a roadsideassistance program, we recommend thatyou contact your roadside assistanceservice provider.
3.If this is not possible, wait for a shortperiod of time for the engine to cool.
4.Check the coolant level. If the coolantlevel is at or below the minimum mark, add prediluted coolant immediately.
5.When the engine temperature cools, youcan re-start the engine. Have your vehiclechecked as soon as possible to minimizeengine damage.
Note:Driving your vehicle without repairincreases the chance of engine damage.
FAIL-SAFE COOLING INDICATORS
If the engine begins to overheat, the coolant temperature gaugemoves toward the red zone.
A warning lamp illuminates and amessage may appear in theinstrument cluster display.

2023 Corsair (CTF) Canada/United States of America, enUSA, Edition date: 202208, DOMMaintenanceE299074
Maintain coolant concentration within 48%to 50%, which equates to a freeze pointbetween -29°F (-34°C) and -35°F (-37°C).Coolant concentration should be checkedusing a refractometer. We do not recommendthe use of hydrometers or coolant test stripsfor measuring coolant concentration.
ADDING COOLANT
WARNING: Do not add coolant whenthe vehicle is on or the cooling system ishot. Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury.
WARNING: Do not allow the fluid totouch your skin or eyes. If this happens, rinse the affected areas immediately withplenty of water and contact your physician.
WARNING: Do not put coolant in thewindshield washer reservoir. If sprayed onthe windshield, coolant could make itdifficult to see through the windshield.
WARNING: Do not add coolantfurther than the MAX mark.
Note: Do not use stop leak pellets, coolingsystem sealants, or non-specified additivesas they can cause damage to the enginecooling or heating systems. Resultingcomponent damage may not be covered bythe vehicle Warranty.
Note:Automotive fluids are notinterchangeable.
It is very important to use prediluted coolantapproved to the correct specification in orderto avoid plugging the small passageways inthe engine cooling system. See Capacitiesand Specifications (page 495). Do not mixdifferent colors or types of coolant in yourvehicle. Mixing of engine coolants or usingan incorrect coolant may harm the engine orcooling system components and may not becovered by the vehicle Warranty.
Note:If prediluted coolant is not available, use the approved concentrated coolantdiluting it to 50/50 with deionised or distilledwater. See Capacities and Specifications(page 495). Using water that has not beendeionised may contribute to depositformation, corrosion and plugging of thesmall cooling system passageways.
Note: Coolants marketed for all makes andmodels may not be approved to ourspecifications and may cause damage tothe cooling system. Resulting componentdamage may not be covered by the vehicleWarranty.
